Nice, but the filter can easily damaged and the waterdrops, dust can enter the chamer .thus the bike totally damage
People are removing filter element of their motorcycles for the sound.... So it's better to cut the cover or remove the rubber pipe in my opinion.... And yes water entering is something that should be taken care lf and one has to clean the filter more often as well no doubt but it's a better option than removing the filter completely.

Nice idea friend !! But this trick dont work on every bike like in my case I tried to change the sound of my RTR 200 by removing the air filter cover but then my engine started to loose rpm and sometimes it shuts off. Even removing the air filter restrictor tends to lag the engine. We also tried it on my friend's rc390 but later end up with cleaning water from the air filter box.
Can't comment about the rtr 200 but when it comes to KTM's you have to be careful while washing that's for sure.
Shivam Kale you are right.. After some days bike shuts off by loosing rpm automatically.
You have to adjust air fuel mixture..as u remove or add new free flow filter..more air goes into combustion chamber..and less fuel...so you have to increase the fuel or adjust the air according and it should have a balance...then it will work properly
You can't do it in 4v bikes.
i tried this for my 2012 R15 v2 it was fun at the beginning but later their used to be knocking sound near engine and bike used to turn off many times I'm not sure if it harms the engine but i got my filter cap fitted back

I want to make sure about one thing before going for this mod in my fz v1
1. By doing this will air flow to the carburettor increases ?? Or just the same as before
2. Does the change in sound only because of removing the upper cover of the air filter ??
If there is a rubber pipe on the air filter cover than no need to adjust the air fuel mixture on the carb... However if you feel any lag after doing it just get your carburetor retuned and it will be fine..... Ye the sound is because of that .... But do not remove the whole cover because the cover supports the air filter in it's place as well.

*It can damage the air filter more quickly.*
*More dirt and moisture gets into the filter and hardens.*
*Also the RPM and pickup too drops .*
*And there will be massive drop in mileage. ( i have seen a more than 7 km drop in the mileage by doing this similar trick).*
*The bike too will start to show missing problems.*
Better buy a genuine performance filter like K&N , green or BMC.
There won't be any problem mentioned above if performance FILTER is used in place of this Trick. ( slight mileage drop will be there).
But the 3000 or 4000 rupees spend on the performance filter is really worth it.
Yes it will Sound.... The sound is good or bad is a personal preference..... The filter will get dusted more often.... But not that often.... Moisture can be a problem as well in some bikes but not in my case.... Power is same.... It's just the mindset that some find it increased others find decreased.... I haven't seen any mileage difference or missing because i have a fuel injected bike.... Carburetor one's will definitely need tuning.... Now coming to aftermarket air filters.... First of all they don't increase any power until you put more fuel in them so that will blow the bill upto 15 - 20k.... Now coming to money point of view.... First of all this video is for those who remove their filter element for this sound... Yes such people exist..... so i am just trying to protect their engine from ruining...... @@JeetBhaskar bro even I did it in my tvs sport 2012 model........ We have 4 screws na........in that 4 I removed 2 screws and lifted filter cap and riding (only 1 inch or half inch filter cap opened ) will it effect my bike engine? Or consume more engine oil? Pls tell bro im waiting

It's only for those who remove the entire air filter element for the sake of sound (yes there are such people).... Hope you got the point.
Well it's not going to work on ECU bikes, the sound will change but the acceleration will go down, because the flow of Air is increased, thus it disturbs the AFR(Air-Fuel Ratio) going to cylinder. Until you can flash the new MAP to comply it with the new air flow.
It does same with carbureted bikes, but you have an advantage that you can change the Air Fuel Ratio settings from carburetor.
well this isn't for the tuner community... this mod is for the ricer one's.... those who are removing the whole air filter box just to get this sound will do more harm than this method.

The rubber pipe i showed was of the 200 ns.... Just remove that pipe and that's it.

I done it my r15 and sound was awesome.. but after 1 week engine sound is little different....
I haven't faced any such issue.
Plz dont do that ..2 saal pehle hi yeh karke dekh liya tha R15 v2 mein bhai ..kuch dino ke bike miss karne lagi thi bahut zayaada engine ko nukaan hota hai ..even aap bike sale karne jaoge to market main koi kharidega bhi nahin..yeh trick bahut nuksaan karti hai
Thank you for your feedback brother but ye video un logo ke liye hai jo is sound ke chakkar me air filter ko hi nikal ke rakh rahe hain.... Us se to cover ko hi cut krna jyaada better hai... Or bhai 2 saal to nahi pr 6 mahine maine use kiya hai... I didn't feel any difference.... Every 3000 kms pr filter ko clean krte rho and it will be fine.

Do you even knw what happens when water goes inside the air filter as you hav not covered it. Water goes inside the engine through air filter and for sure ur bike's engine will get damaged... Guys not do this to your bikes

It will risky in rains , washing bike and it will suck more dust
In my case the only problem is dust..... I have tested in rains and did multiple washings as well... There was no water in the filter box but it vary from bike to bike.... At least it's better option than to remove the filter element itself.... Yes some people are doing that.... That's why i made this video

If you will cut less.... It will sound less.... Keep the filter cleaning every 3,000 kms and you're good to go

Yea sound maybe acquired by removing cap of stock filter i too tried it years ago. But it's gonna fuck up the engine later n performance as soon as u do this.
Yes it is an ancient trick found by our ancestors no doubt..... But as soon as it works it's never too late to try i guess and it's better to remove just the filter cap than removing the whole filter element.... In the case of NS if you remove that intake pipe your engine in sucking high temperature air that leads to less dense air that means less oxygen.

In the middle of the video i have showed ns 200 filter cover.... 160 has the same cover as well... Remove the rubber pipe and that's it.... It shouldn't affect the mileage if you will only remove that rubber pipe.

Remove the fuel tank.... Then you will find the air filter cover.... Remove the rubber pipe and that's it.
And Do we have to cut it or we just have to pull it.... And after doing will it pull down engine performance and does have chances of water entering into filter?
Just pull it..... Engine performance will be same..... But while washing be careful.

I m using my bike like this from past 2.5 yrs. No issues.. its just the miss some power at top end. Maybe for air fuel ratio or the intake pressure. Plz let me know if you know any solution for that !
That can be solved only via ecu remapping
@@JeetBhaskar ohh.. then only solution is replace the ECU with powertronic or NMW or Daytona. I will change the exhaust also, maybe it can help. Cz then the intake pressure and the exhaust pressure will be close to equal.
Exactly but still an ecu will be required and better go with custom tuning... Instead of pretuned stuff
