What you said about mixing techno is completely true! You have to watch the crowd very carefully and adjust to their reaction and vibe much more than "classic electronic" music. It's more about a journey you create, this having peak after peak and banger after banger gets boring super fast. I always try to imagine a wave. Either start high get low and work to the next high, or start low and moody and work my way up and down again.
I only did foundation DJ program and planed to do more advanced DJ before I play live. Since I found your videos and gained lot of insights, I am ready to go live. I work as psychologist and love music therapy, April 8th I'm playing live 90 minutes in rehabilitation center for the first time..... "Thank you for being an incredible mentor on my DJ journey. Your guidance and support have meant the world to me, and I'm grateful for everything you've taught me."
whoa, amazing mate!!! learned so much from your set, your transitions are so smooth and the tracklist is amazing as well. This definitely helps me in increasing my skills for my techno sets. Love your vibe during the sets too. Thank you for your tutorials! cheers
For me personally this is an explosion of good vibes and tunes. Hammer mix. Letting go here and vibing to the max. And another stunner from DJ Awesome :)
I just started to learn how to DJ EDM and I just have to say your vibes are just phenomenal! You bring so much energy and it’s genuine. Thanks for the tips, tricks, and motivation!! 🎉
Dude you emanate such good vibes, I was set and mentalized as self taught, but now... I'm literally going to follow your guidance from now on! Good vibes to you!
Absolutely amazing mix, love it!!! This man is a pure legend! So grateful for everything he has done for me with his course. I've started from nothing, learned basically everything I needed from him and finally found my passion. ❤
Great Set Andrew thanks to your teaching i did my first hardtrance/techno mix set it was great mixing it, i had a lot of fun doing it. Your a amazing energy giver i can only recommend ur teachings
Amazing timing, I'm in training at the moment (and techno is my genre of choice) and just getting to the stage of carefully selecting some tracks to put together my first opportunity to play to 'real people' - super excited and I hope to use a few of your lesser known finds; the last track 'Inside' is an absolute ripper, and I'm also a fan of some of the more well known tracks in this set (I'm really enjoying HI-LO as far as popular producers go, and Space 92 'Gravity' is a super popular track here in NZ at club nights, and was one of the tracks that got me into techno in the first place).
Geez dude, I am stocked that I came across your page. The first one I came across was the one about tracks that drift and how to be be able to workout which direction your nudge or drag should be. It’s something most of us vinyl learners had to learn back in the day. We all had zero beat counters so the ears so the ears w had to pick it parley.up early. I super dig your passion, casual way of delivery and unique delivery when it comes to passing on your knowledge onto all those paying attention.
Starting to DJ in January and spending some time on the basics of electronic music theory I came to the conclusion that Techno is the easiest way to find some success even though you don't have time to practice. That's also a reason I found my way back to Techno after all the years in Progressive Electro and Melodic Techno etc. It's just fun.
Amazing set sensei! I LOVE the techno/blade vampire hunter Synth vibe! hahahahah I'v learned so much with u brotha. ''Knowledge is never too much!'' Peace!
Do you have any advice for mixing in the 50-70 bpm range? I know you can mix with double bpm songs (50/100, 60/120). What else can be done that's at least interesting rather than simply joining the end of the last song with the beginning of the next?
I might be a bit late with this and some of you might know this others not but Germanys culture ministry and Unesco commission have added Berlins techno scene to the countrys list of intangible cultural heritage, in recognition of the scenes contribution to the cultural identity of the city so rave on fellow techno lovers and lets hope Detroit is next
Wondering if you're interested in doing some dives into the nicher subgenres of techno like hardgroove (check out daria kolosova) and hypnotic techno (rodhad)
The mix is excellent, as usual, but allow me a critical comment! The music barely scratches the surface of what we fans call TECHNO. When I talk about Techno, I like to listen to DJs like Lewis Fautzi, Edit Select, or Oscar Mulero. What they play, is Techno. Peace. ❤🔥
This is still techno, regardless of whether it fits your criteria. Don't gatekeep a genre, it scares people away and harms the scene that you clearly love.
A lot of people start with this before they aventually get into more "proper" techno. There's something for everyone in the scene and that's a good thing. @@niof
You're all right! I am new to the genre and I love the tracks I played but no doubt I still have a lot to learn. I'll look into the DJs you mentioned and for the supporting comments everyone - thank you, it feels nice xoxo Techno attracts good people xoxox Thanks for being understanding.
So true. If you go to a real techno club in Berlin, Brussels, Warsaw, Amsterdam, etc you will never hear this kind of “techno”. This is called commercial cr#p. I guess it’s the same in Chicago. But there are sooooo many subgenres in every electronic music genre, that it’s probably a matter of taste. I still keep loving your channel and your enthusiasm ❤❤.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for your channel and teaching us how it’s really done! I will forever keep your tricks, tips and “personalities” in my ear on every set. You’ve taught me a lot of useful things when I first started, and I’m so grateful for it! 🥹🥹
Have to admit after spending thew last 3 days watching Ultra Music Festival on youtube, this is the after party I needed and was looking! Sick stuff!!
I was thinking the same thing i like this mix as much or better than some of the djs i listened too over the weekend

\o/ love the approach, the joy, and the record pool shout out - and your mix; so clearly demonstrating many of the techniques you teach explicitly.

Hey Andrew, that was such a superb techno mix, your phrasing was absolutely gold!!
Thanks for listening
Loving your training videos. I can easily relate to your teaching. That's a banger of a techno set.

It is obvious that you are having a blast recording this! Great flow, superb techno and some awesome tips in the beginning! You are our sensei ❤
Thanks so much!
Amazing set! Would love to see some fader cut tricks tutorials with techno. 🙏🏻

Sick skills man! You nailed it!!

Amazing !! Love it !
Can we get more of those?!?!
Such a great channel
Heyy mr andrew, could you show us how to mix a song that begins with a vocal and how to mix to 2 bar intros? 😁

Wow ❤
May I know how would u describe which sub genre of techno this belong to ?
What techno genre is this? Sound so good
Love it! Make a progressive house one :)
Sick🔥
Hey mate sick set. Quick question: why you have the time mode set to "count up" as opposed to "count down" and do you always have it set to this?
I understand it's down to personal preference etc just always interested on hearing other people's views!
I don't even look at it, so doesn't matter to me which way it's set, I simply look at the waveform :)
Techno Never Dies
What decks do you use, Andrew and how does that translate to clubs?
CDJ-900NXS and i believe a DJM-900NXS mixer as well
Wondering if you're interested in doing some dives into the nicher subgenres of techno like hardgroove (check out daria kolosova) and hypnotic techno (rodhad)
Tracklist anyone know??
Loving your course mate thanks for everything. Pint on me if you're every down Melbourne.
Link for Soundcloud?
I love techno, I don't care what anyone says lol😊😊😊😂😂😂
Good set. Keeps you moooving. Who cares what the music is called. Lol.
Check my set (no technicals, please. Still a beginner :)
oh boy not you doing the daft “holding a lav mic” thing. Just clip it on like it was designed for.
Didn't intend to offend, I didn't want it on while I was playing, I wanted to feel free - it gets in the way of my headphones. Enjoy your day x
@@ClubReadyDJSchool doesn’t offend fella - just seems to be a daft trend at the moment of people holding lav and boom mics in their hand.
