As a huge Disney fan even now as a 24 year old adult.. vmk was one of my favorite things about my childhood. I remember my dream was to get a stitch hat and someone made that happen before it closed.. the community in vmk was the best.

I still count the closure of this game as my first heartbreak.

Omg this. I was only like 10 in 5th grade and I cried when the final "See ya real soon!" popped up. I was too young!

I think I can safely say that playing VMK was one of the most memorable parts of my childhood.... Especially at a time when I had a lot of trouble making friends. And just kind you, it boosted my interest in theme parks.

But no really, I cried when I heard that sound that you hear when you first log in after years of not hearing it! VMK was a huge part of my childhood and I’m so glad MyVMK give me a chance to relive it.

@@DreamsoundsVideo it was a few years of my life I will never forget. From first learning of VMK thru my now ex-wife, to doing the quests at Disneyland, and later becoming the Events Coordinator and then Community Manager of VMK. Just an amazing few years. And while I had moved to Habbo before VMK closed, I was still there for the end. It's amazing to see some of the players today on my FB friends list and to see them as adults with kids of their own. Just a great feeling and I will always remember my time playing and working on VMK. Heck my last name even made it into VMK on a special "Racing" pin. It was just so amazing and I miss it all the time mainly as a player. I had so many rares. Lol

Rewatching some of your oldies, because I really enjoy Dreamsounds. I'm 27 and played VMK vehemently in the last year of it's life and I have to agree that it was one of the catalysts to have me love Disney Parks. The ambience was exactly what drew me in, especially that entrance pathway. I was so heartbroken when it was canned and I held onto those memories forever. One in particular is I believe there was a mod with all the magic stuff unlocked that would stand out in the courtyard and "perform magic tricks", but also the amazing rooms people made to emulate Disney rides (you'd have to walk from stool to stool to have the "full experience" lol. Beautiful work, as always!

The Virtual Magic Kingdom closed because the multi-million dollar contract between Disney and Sulake ended. Disney wasn't interested in renewing the contract because Disney wanted to become financially viable. Disney spent $700 million acquiring the Club Penguin IP. Subscriptions dwindled years later, so they decided to release a sequel that was easier to maintain. Club Penguin Island was shut down after executives saw that there wasn't enough subscribers to keep putting money into the game. Just a little note: There was going to be a way to monetize the game (called VMK Gold), but it never got off the ground. Disney Interactive is no more.

13:15 why do you say something so dishonest about room making? Habbo Hotel has had room builders since forever and before they added the stack tile you'd have to use rollers and Z shelves etc and glitch
