Over $37,000 for a $22,000 bike? What is in the water in Milwaukee?? I'll scrounge the junk piles for old twin cam parts before I ever give them that kind of money.
I bought a used 2015 switchback with 2400 miles for $10500, in 2019, nothing fancy, but not a budget buster. It does everything I need, and I don’t feel like I was taken to the cleaners
If I had a choice, I’d rather have a good old Ultra, or a Road Glide Ultra . The Street Glide Ultra looks good, but it’s missing those front passing lights which is what sets off an Ultra!
Back in '05 I bought my '39 restored Knucklehead for thirty grand rode it over a decade and sold it for a huge profit. Still riding my '99 Heritage Springer.
Hasn't been too long ago that Black was the basic color and you had to pay extra for anything else. Then when everyone started wanting black the MoCo started charging extra for it.🤔 I looked at a new SC Ultra. I like it but would definitely add rear speakers. And yes, I do like real gauges much more than the screen. And dual exhaust.
My local dealer has 174 2024 and 5 2023. I don’t know where they gonna put the 2025 models. Primer Grey / No Speakers? I don’t know about that. I am interested how this is gonna play out this year. Most people I know are struggling.
The more they get updated the more I love the looks of my 2016 road glide ultra. And yes, I could get a new 1 if I wanted it. the only reason I say that is there is always the 1 douche that comments to people that they cant afford it. They are going the way of the jellybean cars that all try to look alike.
I think the new SG Ultra looks more modern (NOT a good thing in my book), and much less sumptuous and luxurious than the old Ultra Limited and RG Ultra. I like the "old" classic look much better - but I still like the look of my Hot Citrus pre-Rushmore 2012 CVO Street Glide with the 400w audio with four speakers in the fairing, two big ones in the full-size old-school lowers, plus two in the saddlebag lids, and the color-matched detachable Tour Pak I added. I agree with you that the MoCo has lost its way. I am not a fan of the new look of the 2024 SG and RG at all... and the new lowers on the SG Ultra look like ASS in my opinion. The new SG Ultra has lost the curvy, sexy, classic Harley batwing fairing look, with those awesome big running lights sticking out, the big front fender, etc. I love having analog GAUGES that are not just an image on a screen. The screen is fine in cars, but a Harley should have real analog gauges that are separate, I think. The new bikes just seem much more generic-looking to me, and they don't have that old Harley appeal anymore.
Oh how I miss the glory days of cheaper and sensible H-D's, I just like simplicity and the styling above all,my opinion, Those were the True Harley-Davidson, but if you're chasing hp & torque then you'll pay the price. That's why I still hold on to and ride my 1991flhs, Simplicity and No Problems, if so I can fix it myself. Just nothing there throwing out there that catches my eye other than what I have now, My EVO 😊
I prefer the old ultra limited with the rear speakers and also the older style fairing lowers. The new ones look like Indian's lowers and they don't protect your feet.
Used Harley prices have never been better for buyers. Just buy used. If you are a blue collar worker with no vocational or other marketable education, you can’t afford a new F150 at $70k, or a new boat at $55k, or a new side-by-side at $30k. So why would you automatically assume that you should be able to afford a new Harley, and that it’s Harley’s fault if you can’t?
No speakers in the lowers and I don't see speakers being an option in either location. I saw a few months back a new design tour pack but this SGU don't have that so maybe something else is coming
There is nothing "Ultra" about adding a tour pak to a bike! I still like my Limited & Evo but Harley is really chasing a lot of potential customers to other brands!
I used to be proud to ride a Harley-Davidson but with their current practices I would feel like I'm riding a giant dunce cap. A fool and his money are soon separated. If I was riding a new Harley-Davidson I would feel like I was holding up a giant billboard saying I was that fool.
I love my ultra limiteds . I just wish I could get the parts I want for the bikes I have . I bought a 23 last year that I still don't have the cigarette lighter I ordered in April 2024 . My 2013 110 rebuild kit still isn't in . Harley should worry more about service and parts .
I'm glad I bought my Ultra limited in 2020! If I were looking for a brand new touring right now...I would buy a 2024, the only difference between a 24 and 25 is the manufacturer date...and the bigger price on the 25's! Grab one of the many new 24's still sitting on the floor for a bunch of $$ less!👍 Great video! Thanks for sharing...stay safe out there!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Harley Davidson dealers trying to move 2 year old unsold units. Here's an idea. Put them on sale. Thrown in a free extended warranty. Some things that just won't happen. Along with not slapping on aftermarket bling.
I'm ready for some bad news there, dealers are jam packed with bikes already and Harley was shipping more to clear room for the 2025 models in their warehouses.
I'm all for the motor upgrade. But is just me, or do these look like the Indian. Put them side by side, and the front look the same, looking at it from the side, the lowers look like the ones on the Indian. I like the classic fairing, the spotlights and the old lowers.. I like my HD to look like a HD.
I'm still not cool with spending 30k on a motorcycle. Id buy a fixer up house first and get into reality first. My limit is 15k on any Harley so I'm a buyer in the used market. Usually that limits me to a 2015 and older. I currently ride a 2008 Softail deluxe cholo style. I saw a Harley at the dealership that was 55k. That's beyond crazy to me. That's half the price of my house. We only get to ride half a year where I live so doesn't make sense at all
Any suggestions on how to go about financing a new harley? I will probably get the Lowrider S or ST in a couple years. If i dont buy a Supercruiser. Definitely cant pay cash (that i kow of) but im most likely able to save up a down payment.
I would shop around with local banks and I would even give Harley financing a shot. Sometimes they have some really good rates and terms that will beat the banks.
@GixxerFoo I have great credit, just not great longevity, so I assume I'll be able to do better in a couple years. I've just heard horror stories of Harley financing, but I assume that's cause they will finance anyone. I'll make sure they know I plan to hold onto the 05 883 so either way, I'm riding tomorrow 😎
Back in 2005 I bought a new Ultra Classic and msrp was 20,400. That was in black pearl/ black cherry paint. No up charge for paint. So going up 10,000 over 20yrs really isn't that bad. Since new bike has a bigger motor, etc, etc.. I would go back to last yrs Ultra limited, I'm not a Street Glide fan at all. It's nothing but a Stripped down Classic for xtra moolah..
HD corporate has lost their minds and I wonder if our fellow riders have lost theirs when they shell out all that money for the new bikes. The UltraClassic has always been the premium bike in HD's line up. It has always had all the gizmo's on them for rider comfort and entertainment. HD corporate is not putting forward a good business model. Dealers are gonna have a lot of unsold inventory piling up year upon year and no one is gonna buy them.
it bugs me that there are no lights or speaker in the tour pack. I wonder how much connectivity is in the wire loom? I assume the AM/FM radio antenna is in the fairing?
I'm getting one in blue simply because they don't offer in red without it being two-tone. The first thing I will do is put a gel-pack battery. I'm off grid solar, so I have a ton of experience with lithium ion batteries. Not that great on vehicles.
@GixxerFoo my 2010 ultra classic limited got a gel-pack the day I purchased it. 15 years later, the battery still hasn't given me any problems. Gel-pack batteries are more forgiving on battery tenders also.
So they waited nearly 2 decades to offer a tour pack and lowers on a street glide as standard when people were buying the stuff pretty much from the get go to have a cheaper version of an ultra that was stripped down. Talk about tone deaf to what your customers are doing and asking for.
The Street Glide Ultra is an absolute joke of a bike. Ugly lowers and no lights or speakers make the tour pack look terrible too. CEO needs to be fired for allowing this garbage out.
Good morning 🌅, GixxerFoo, 😂😂😂😂 sorry I couldn’t stop laughing 😆, 50k, you could go out and buy yourself seven secondhand bikes one for each day of the week, 😂, and have a bike that’s more reliable, and easier to work on, or you could buy yourself a secondhand bike and rebuild it how you want it for less money than 50 K, even getting a top end of the range paint job for less than 2000, it’s now got to the point where it’s rich boys toys, 🧸, I can’t bear the strain any more, 😂 regard from me to you from France
It's really going off the rails in cost with Harley-Davidson, I am not sure where they are getting their data and numbers related to sales but the dealers are hurting. They can't move these things and they are being forced to take on inventory.
That was the main reason why the dealerships in the UK that went bust last year taking on new products or inventory that they can’t move as they still got last year all the years previous models to sell, it is ridiculous,
For 2025, you get way better stock shocks than any previous Ultra. And you don’t have to pay for the useless garbage stock rear speakers from previous Ultras. And a much simpler cooling system, with lowers that can be removed in the summer.
The model discussed, the Streetglide Ultra seems like word salad of model names. Seems like HD's attempt at a Streetglide touring bike. Which as we know is the proverbial argument of which model to get or start out with to build your way, Electraglide or Streetglide? Yes I still even call My Ultra Limited an E-Glide. Again, just word salad. I have a 2022 "Ultra Limited" which is a batwing bike with the tourbox and , I think one more inch of rear travel compared to a streetglide. A fairly comfortable bike. It appears this 2025 SteetGlide Ultra has 3 inches of rear travel. No lighting on the tourbox is hardly set up for touring in my opinion and can probably be rectified from the P & A catalog at the customers expense. The lowers at first blush look like the competitors, and after the way the "new" 2024 body style Roadglide kinda' looks like the competitor. I am not amused. To change the cooling radiators and mold the lowers with a new crash bar is pretty neat. The other side of that coin is I would like to know that The Motor Company will still be rolling and relevant thru the next 100 years to come, so some evolution and change is inevitable. I see that and am not that excited about the new looks. After being at the 120 in Milwaukee and looking over the presentation it appears they put a ton of time into the new body style changes. The way the turn signal lighting was integrated and the shape of the new batwing was transformed is tasteful and well done. Just not My cup of tea, yet. When they came out with amber whiskey on the new body style CVO street glide, I thought that was one hot bike. Although not a fan of first year anything, especially a digital dash. I prefer analog gauges and the bat wing fairing and body shapes that I have known and loved for many, many years. Where all of My friends and memories are. Your channel in insightful and always a good perspective in the comments. Thank you
I will never buy a new Harley. I've been riding since I was 9, now I'm 57. Been riding Harley since the 90s. I always buy used because it's cheaper. I only buy gently used blockheads then fix what breaks. My 4 bagger blockheads cost less than 1 new Harley bagger. The best reason I buy old is that I can still work on it without needing a computer.
Double nope! ‘Being content is the key to happiness’ applies to marriages and motorcycles. Take it from someone who has chased and lost the “latest and greatest” in both arenas.
I must admit, I'm starting to like the fresh look of the new Street Glide (the Road Glide not so much), but I still wouldn't buy one. I like having two kidneys.
Crap. I love my 2014 Road Glide Ultra ... with all 4 speakers ... and front speakers in the fairing and not down by your knees. Harley just can't do anything right.
Street glide ultra doesn't do a thing for me, price being the main thing. If I were to buy one I would be paying for crap I don't want, GPS, radio, VVT, digital gages, I can't keep up with the glitter they are throwing on these bikes nowadays! It wouldn't surprise me if HD made tires optional!!
Still the same stupid motorcycles no matter the color or garbage bolted on it, cant fix it yourself and you pay and pay., then pay some more, might as well marry the dealer.
Oh, you mean theyr'e Dressers. Ultra, glide, street, road, cvo, special. What marketing horse shit. By new platform, does that mean an all new frame since the one in 2009, or rather a new valve mechanism and software update on some anti dive, anti skid, anti lock fly by wire, automated ride control doo dad for today's rider. No rear speakers! I'm done. I don't mind paying $44 586 Canadian for bike, but I've got to have those speakers. On second thought, maybe I should keep my 81 Shovelhead.
Paint. I've noticed it's becoming common for vehicle manufacturers to paint their products in the most downbeat, drab, uninspiring colours imaginable. Volvo come to mind automotively. I think its a deliberate ploy to introduce mortification, despondency and cheerlessness into the world of personal transport. The complete opposite to the celebration we feel for buying owning and riding. Metalflakes purples, orange, red, flipflop, seem destined for the history book of colour swatch charts. As the overloards want to rid the world of personal transport, they are adding to the high insurances, EPA rules, and overpriced fuel, guilt ridden woke colour schemes destined to make gloom and woefulness the rear gunner of the joyless road ahead.
Harley have forgotten who they was and who buys there bikes. It's about WOKE and how they can screw us over and there now junk and UnHarley like Bikes. The new screen crap can't give me one of those. Some dealerships are so pushing people to buy brand new bikes and pushing financing and not listening to what the buyers want. Them getting rid of the untra glide name is bullshit. Honestly I hope Harley go broke and get brought out. Harely will always be around cuz it's American icon like Indain. It's to bad.
What are your thoughts on this new Street Glide Ultra? Does it even compare to the Ultra Limited or Road Glide Limited?
I’ll say one thing for Harley, they sure know how to charge.
@@GixxerFoo ordered the street glide ultra adding speaker pods ( ported into the tour pack) and cicada speakers and a sub. In the trunk from pioneer.
No. Im a just upgrade my 2020 ultra.
Over $37,000 for a $22,000 bike? What is in the water in Milwaukee?? I'll scrounge the junk piles for old twin cam parts before I ever give them that kind of money.

Good Video H D has lost its way 😢
My bikes paid for.
my 05 ultraclassic, two-tone paint, with wrap around bag crash bars and lower fairing crash bars. Still 100% better looking than the new line.
I'm with you on that more I see the newer line up the more I like mine also..
Good video keep up the good work

Ho mostrato questo video al mio capo e ora abbiamo un nuovo modo di trascorrere le nostre pause: ridere insieme💝
I remember when black paint was the basic color, now they up charge you..
It was popular so now they want to fork you for it!
I'm going to continue to wait and see what the replacement if for the Road Glide Limited.
I remember in like 19 they said all the ultras were gonna be 117s. 6 years later it finally happens.
Hasn't been too long ago that Black was the basic color and you had to pay extra for anything else. Why is vivid black costing more that used to be the stock color forever
I’ll keep my 2017 Ultra Ltd thanks.
Those are much nicer motorcycles all around!
So why would you automatically assume that you should be able to afford a new Harley, and that it’s Harley’s fault if you can’t?
because the equation used is for poor and new is for rich is just unfair
@@freedomrides5444that’s not true!!
I’m rich, because I buy used!! Instead of buying new.
Please stop making excuses!!
Or buy a leftover 23 or 24 model. Dealerships are full of them 🤷
No speakers in the lowers and I don't see speakers being an option in either location. I saw a few months back a new design tour pack but this SGU don't have that so maybe something else is coming
No lights on tour pack either… also be nice if they made lowers removable… #NOTIMPRESSED
You could buy a 24 model thousands cheaper and add the tour pack and lowers and still be under the 25 price
That is exactly what I was thinking, the tour pack it comes with looks like something out of the accessory catalog.
My prediction...it's a one and done model and Limited returns next year.
They're probably going to have to change it, it's a weird in-between model!
$30K to over $50K for a MOTORCYCLE?! I’ll stick to what I have and wouldn’t even consider a new bike from HD.
I love my ultra limiteds . I just wish I could get the parts I want for the bikes I have . I bought a 23 last year that I still don't have the cigarette lighter I ordered in April 2024 . My 2013 110 rebuild kit still isn't in . Harley should worry more about service and parts .
I'm not a billionaire. I'll keep my 2017 Street glide. Use my money to enjoy the ride. Thanks for the information.

I am not sure what to make of those lowers either myself.

I prefer analog gauges and the bat wing fairing and body shapes that I have known and loved for many, many years. Where all of My friends and memories are. Your channel in insightful and always a good perspective in the comments. Thank you
It looks like an Indian….
Harleys suck!
