Good explanation. One of my LEDs flickers for a minute then stops. The same light does not flicker in other sockets. Other LEDs do not flicker in the problem socket. All wirenuts upstream retightened and breaker tightened. Voltage a constant 122.1 (U.S.). You gave me more to think about.
I have a table lamp with NO DIMMER in it...but it still flickers. It is a nice quality lamp with a Sylvania bulb in it and it doesn't flicker for a time then it goes crazy again. I have replaced the entire cord running to the wall and through the lamp now, new socket..and still the same thing. A conventional bulb, no problem, but any brand or size of LED it won't work. I took it to our local electrician to check my work and he too is puzzled. Is there a special type of socket to use with the newer LED bulbs?

Are you using a dimmer? Dimmer and LED not talking correctly together if so.
I wish all LED lights were obsolete. They ruin the night sky, they blind you when driving from oncoming cars and they even change the colour of items, so you're unsure of the correct colour (for people who rely on colour design). They are just awful.
They are also point-source light. Which means it damages your retina.
LEDs are terrible. They lead to more light pollution, and yet actually claim to reduce it, are much harsher than incandescent or halogen bulbs, and like you said LED headlights are blind drivers. WE MUST REPEAL THE US DOE BAN ON HALOGEN BULBS!
LED lights are a scam. They do not last as long as advertised. They should work without having to rewire the house.
They're not a scam. Well, no more of a scam than the entire light bulb industry has been since its become big business. Engineered failure. Besides that, LEDs are like anything else. You get what you pay for. With better technology comes higher prices. Consumers get pissy (how dare they charge more from the same product. They don't. All bulbs aren't equal) and then comes the "budget" shit. You get what you pay for. Rewiring your home is a whole different beast of a problem. It is what5it is. You can't expect homes built and wired in the 60s, 70s, 80s,etc to be capable of running tech that's 50 years younger. Spec requirements change. My home is ran with aluminum wiring. Copper and aluminum are mortal enemies when oxygen gets involved. So, while it does suck, it's not a scam.
LED's are not a scam, just make sure you buy from long-standing manufacturers and warranties. We have LED strip we purchased when it was very first released around 2005 and we have it still lighting up our warehouse.
@@thelightingoutlet845 LEDs flicker badly. They get dimmer with time. They are too expensive. They require existing dimmers to be replaced. The color is weird.
100% agree. LEDs don't last as anywhere near as long as they claim, are too harsh on the eyes, produce ugly light, and yet still costs much more than a halogen bulb. Newer LED bulbs don't even claim to last half as long as ones made around 2005. The US Department of Energy under Biden has banned halogens and is soon going to ban CFLs to force everyone to buy junky LEDs, and personally, I think it's outrageous that the government would eliminate all other types of light bulbs on the market. What ever happened to consumer choice?! REPEAL THE BAN NOW!
The life times of EVERYTHING are "estimated" using a statistic calculation that fits a hat shaped curve, a few items will fail early, most of the items will fall in the center of the curve, and a few will last a lot lot longer than the average, just the way it is.

So because the internet is pure cancer now to find solutions to problems, I'm going to ask in a comment section hoping for an answer that I'm not going to get because rather than provide anything useful the internet seeks to just churn out pointless content. I had my LED strip unplugged for 2 weeks, go to plug it in and it starts flashing purple, off, green, off, in 1 second increments in a cycle. They aren't a hodgepodge of pieces that are soldered together and duct taped, the A/C adapter came with the lights so it's not a voltage issue it's not a power supply issue. If I unplug the adapter, the lights continue to flicker in their rotation for almost a solid minute. I have tried to turn them off with the remote, it doesn't respond. I've tried turning it off at the adapter, it doesn't respond. The circuit isn't broken, because all of the individual LEDs light up. I am at a complete loss as to what to do, and yes I could purchase more LEDs and take down the old ones but that's not ultimately a helpful solution to the problem at hand.

Try and plug the strip straight into the driver and bypass the controller, the controller sounds like it's busted. If each colour work ok individually then you will know to replace the controller. Each colour acts as a neutral. Let me know how you go.
@@thelightingoutlet845 I'm not entirely sure how to do that, it's basically 2 pieces the strip and the power source that is a cord that runs into a box with 3 switches into 2 connectors to the strips. sorry about the rough message, it's been a long week.
I'm sorry team the MMBP does not fix RIPPLE -This advice is not accurate - it is incorrect. If you have been selling this to fix ripple it cannot work. Halogen and tungsten lamps ARE impacted by this - the human eye just cannot always see it due to thermal inertia in the filament. There is a serious lack of factual information in this video guys - suggest you recall it and plug the holes.
The MMBP is a low voltage dimming correcting device, we have done a heap of installations where this device has fixed flickering issues, especially due to ripple effect.
@@thelightingoutlet845 Unfortunately you are incorrect. Whilst you may believe it was the reason for fixing the ripple issue it cannot be. Its not made for that purpose. you are providing consumers incorrect information. I have a deep and intimate knowledege of this beyond a "heap of installations..." This information is simply untrue.
@@SJROnline When I say "heaps of installations" I mean we used to have government contracts installing over 3000 LED downlights a week in residential Sydney. This product does work in some cases. The Hunter Pacific ZF-1050 Noise Filter is another product that can fix the issue. Also converting to smart meters fixes the issue.
Have you seen these new SAL products? They are guaranteeing to fix the ripple effect 100%.
@@thelightingoutlet845 will this fix a non-dimmable installation as well? I am using Collins 6 light with 8w LED vintage bulbs and intermittent flickering has been diagnosed to be associated with either ripple effect or frequency in the main line. Can you please suggest a device and possibly installation that will eliminate the problem?

Matching manufacturers LED downlights and dimmers is absolutely not true. There is no guarantee this will work, and manufacturers DO NOT guarantee this - this is not good advice IMO. Finding brands that work reliably together is certainly the best appraoch.
If a manufacturer sells a dimmer and sells a dimmable product then they will test to make sure it works correctly, if it doesn't you can use that against them. If they sell a dimmer that doesn't work on their own product then they can't blame anyone else but themselves.
#1 lesson don’t buy dimmers.
Buy good quality bulbs and you'll have no problems. It's all about quality
