A thing to maybe note about Stukov's level 20 for shove... now that the forts don't slow, having that 50% slow at the end gains a bit more value, at least when pushing into forts.
The level 1 basic attack talent is my favorite. The lower dps ends up increasing it instead because of the added range. I think when learning to play healers people should focus only on healing until they have great mechanics and the last thing to focus on is weaving auto attacks. If you can AA and stutterstep for a whole fight you can be as effective as any short range AA hero. I've seen numerous top damage stukovs in both draft and QM because of this one talent. There's no good way to improve Stukov's healing at level 1 so I say go for it.
@@yargolocus4853 The trait reset is at level 7 from Targeted Excision. However one often overlooked talent at lvl 1 is Fetid Touch. Fetid touch is an amazing quest. It massively reduces both mana cost and cool down on your w. So at level 7 you can spam w trying to land the proc for targeted excision as well as landing a massive slow if you trigger your trait.
Idk, I’ve thought that his beefy auto attack is a pretty good peel. Someone like Twin Blade or Kerrigan jumps in on you they see a chunk of their health disappear, sometimes they turn around.
@@Zer0cul0 Reactive ballistospores resets the cooldown of trait at level 1. It's a great talent against melee assassins as you get free radial W with it, as well as another kill switch. Targeted Excision sets the cooldown of trait to 5s at lvl7. I always take is since it's a proactive way to get more kill switches to combo with your talents like biotic armor, virulent reaction and bio explosion switch
I'm a fetid touch/long pitch Stukov for life. Once you hit 13 and get virulent reaction you are a threat to engage almost on the entire screen if you hit someone with your W. That said, have played around a bit with the AA talent and it is also really good. As far as heroes go, Stukov has some of the best diversity in his kit and his talents. Can't really think of a hero that they did a better job in making than him.
The 20 heal talent becomes far more amazing when you have the infinite spread Pally as suddenly if your team even remotely stays clumped a little then you've got a way more effective HoT perpetually running on them until they dip below 60% hp. You get a much longer cushion period out of it that way where you won't necessarily need to pop the heal and when you would need to pop the heal anyways, the enhanced HoT has turned off.
Hey pally, as a stukov main, I can say for certain the aa talent at lvl 1 is the worst talent of that tier. If not his worst talent period. You want the base aa to be able to threaten the enemies diving you (saw that multiple times in the vid). And that junkrat escaping the shove into fort oof. Moreover, since you have a garrosh it's an even better reason to keep your melee aa. He throws them near you, you slow them, you punch them and you got a free kill. Would be the same with a mosh. Just in general I like to keep his base aa because it feels like a lost potential to reduce its damage by 40%. You just deal less damage to structures, to mercenaries, etc. You get the gist. Also, slowing by 20% one target is not a big deal at all. Especially if you play with the root combo at 13. Also, the slowing pathogen already slows, so the aa slowing is just plain useless. And I mean, just by watching the video, I can tell you play him with a melee mindset. So yeah, think about it next time you keep his base aa! To me, stukov is all about creating oportunities for his team, which is why I think he is best played with the root at 13. I cannot stress enough the number of times I just silence rooted part of a team, effectively making them deal 0 damage for at least 2 seconds, which is more than enough for the tanks to use their own cc and gg. But I guess the gameplay can become tiresome, since you need to constantly check your cds, manage healing and the enemy team's positioning. But when you pull the combo off you can essentially reverse uno card an entire teamfight. A tip for those trying to learn his combo build : healing pathogens last longer than slowing pathogens. So start spreading the healing, throw in a slow, if it hits, lurking arm into pathogen explosion. If the slow does not connect, just don't use lurking arm, and if the team needs the heal, explode. Rince and repeat. With this gameplay, I like to get the 7 that sets the explosion cooldown to 5s if only one enemy was slowed. Much easier to manage the cooldowns that way. Wow I wrote way too much. Anyway my fav build is E at 1, one good spread at 4, that one talent I described at 7, any ult is fine, root at 13 , explosion talent at 16 and the big boy combo lurking arm explosion talent at 20.
Pally: I know this level one aa talent isn't the best talent but I like it. Azervak: *sharply inhales and cracks knuckles* it's gonna be a long night boys.
So you don't get the extended range on the weighted pustule? I feel like the 5s single hit pustule talent is good, but long pitch makes the build easier.
@@jamesmay3446 I said it's my favourite, but yeah I use this talent from time to time too. Many of his talents are useable, so really you can do whatever you want.
I entirely disagree. The ranged auto gets so much value in early game laning and can often lead to big early exp leads because you can bully so much. The small slow helps lead into your W, which helps you secure basically anything you want. Especially against mobile heroes like tracer which usually eat stukov for breakfast, spine launcher is an awesome talent.
I love targeted excision at level 7, if you can time it right you can heal your team based on the cooldown of your weighted pustule instead of the detonation time, zhich means you can heal up to 3 times in a fight easily
I think in heroes it doesnt record overheals, as in the nunber just doesnt change when there is an overheals as you didnt actually heal the target. The level 20 upgrade in my mind helps mitigate almost all poke damage, but is best used when you are already ahead or facing little burst damage.
A little off topic, but I also play a reactive healer in dnd. By which I mean I am the team's healer but only ever heal people who are down with my weakest spell.
healing wording a downed ally is often the best things to do. healing above 0 might not even keep them from dropping to 0 next turn, but healing at 0 will get them back up. Grave clerics are really good at this

7:37 Level 1 Reactive Ballistospores would have saved you. That damage you're doing with Spine Launcher is inconsequential. It's too spread out and mostly gets healed passively. So it makes your stats look better, but offers minimal value.
With that level 20 it's not so bad with the talent that stops the trait from consuming the HoT Cause you do the big burst of healing with your trait, gets them above 60% then the HoT tops them off.
I think the thing that makes stukov so strong is his ability to lock down a target and secure a kill for your team WHILE healing at the same time. This is why bio-kill switch is so powerful.
I'm a mild bit upset that Pally mentioned the Lurking Arm talents, demonstrated how he can pop it and it will stay and grow on its own, and then just never used the ability again. 5-man enemy team chasing your team, might have been swood to have them continue their walk in silence. Minion waves also really like playing with the arm. Remember: AoE against waves basically deals 7x damage. And the level 20 lurking arm detonation is not about the damage. Pally talking about not running a damage build. Wat. It's about 2.5 seconds of lingering silence on an AoE ability with increased radius which could really come in handy when you are trying to kill Medivh or Junkrat or anything that can get away by pressing a button. Take away their buttons. Again, that's X + 2.5 seconds of silence with X being how many seconds they've stood in the lurking arm before you popped it.
Massive shove also grants 50 armor for as long as you're in the animation. I've used it to survive pyroblasts and other massive sources of damage, though it's difficult to time. It's only a 20 second cooldown so why not?
I swear I've never seen one video where someone goes cdr build. Fetid touch, one good spread, targeted excision, and pox at 16. You got dings from w, you get unlimited trait procs at 7.
