I read The Troop last year and it was the first horror novel I've ever read. I still can't eat Udon noodles lol. I don't think I could handle The Deep!
I like The Troop. Here is my short review of The Deep from my Goodreads area: I just finished “The Deep”. It's like The Thing+Alien+The Abyss combined, written by Stephen King on cocaine. I had read “The Troop” by Nick Cutter about a year ago and never forgot it. I knew “The Deep” was going to be a wild ride. It was. (I just wish the title was not the same as a Peter Benchley book and movie from years ago!) Next I’m reading “The Acolyte” (update I DNF’d this)
I read the Troop and felt a similar way. Had some great body horror elements but the hype wasn’t worth it. The Deep is also on my I should give Cutter another try list.
I read the troop on a recommendation from a friend and felt underwhelmed, they then read the Deep and felt like it was a let down whereas I found it to be a better, more focused title, seems to put me in the minority though.

Wow, you started with a gross one!
I really enjoyed The Deep. Lot different than the Troop was. Felt like they were both good reads though.
Good to know! Cheers

The Deep didn’t live up to my expectations, sadly.
Ah that's a shame
I've read The Troop and The Deep. Didn't care for either.

I'm definitely up for trying more by him, but with lower expectations
I know The Deep by Peter Benchley

I haven't read as much horror as you, but I thought this one is top three darkest I've read. I have more to say, but spoilers, so happy reading.
Sounds intriguing!
I have The Deep and haven't read it yet, either. Probably read it during #RWYO
woot! i *think* I have it too.
Ah good shout - it's not too long either
Sweet! Buddies a trois! 😂
