As a European I never fail to appreciate how many people who grew up with the imperials system still prefer the metric system. You people are the best. Go science!
metric makes more sense and easier to convert between different scales. But i still use imperial for construction, height of people, weight of people, golf.
I'm American and I highly support the metric system (except for Celsius), as do the majority of the people at Rooster Teeth (as is stated many times in the podcast.) They may not know it very well, because actually using measurements that aren't the standard where you live is difficult, but they support it.
........Celsius isn't part of the metric system. it's a measurement of temperature based on the freezing and boiling point of water. i don't know what Ferenhiet (how ever you spell it) is based on, but i don't think it was just an arbitrary measurement.
well, you could say that the imperial system is a bit more "convenient". if you need the length of an inch but don't have a ruler, just look at the distance between your second and third knuckle, and if you need the length of a yard, it's based on the average arm length of a man. (a foot should be obvious).
You know there are time zones besides yours right? For example, here in New Zealand it is indeed Friday. I recognize that it's Thursday at Rooster Teeth, but if it is Friday where (s)he is, it would be incorrect for him/her to say Thursday.
Luckily I know my math. Simply put Metric comes in x10 intervals such as 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000, etc... and Imperial is confusing in being 12in = 1ft, 3ft = 1yd, 1760yd = 1mi. As you can see, Metric is far easier to comprehend. and they are always able to be converted if you really need to know one or the other.
As an Englishman, I love how Gav is bringing so much UK culture to RoosterTeeth. Things like Gumf and Faff and Yid Army! Clearly Gav is a Tottenham Fan ;)
Unless you are doing something other than measuring when water freezes and boils, temperature for common people is just how hot/cold is outside, and celsius is awful for that.
Gavin's comment about feet making sense if you are tall is true! He means that a foot only equals a human foot if you have big, 12-inch long feet. Because tall people have big feet it makes perfect sense!
Halo by Bungie, Grand Theft Auto (I don't know the creating author), and Doom. Note, 2 of these (Halo and Doom) were groundbreaking when they came out, especially Halo with its extremely lagre maps. Games with huge maps like Borderlands 2 and Battlefield 3 would not have had such expansive maps if not for Halo. Doom was one of the best performing FPSs and also had the first semi-decent (relative to now) mechanics for turning corners and shooting.
Hi! American here. I have never uttered the statement "Metric is stupid" ever in my life. I was never taught the metric system in school and I actually think it's fairly ignorant that America is one of the few countries that doesn't use it. Thanks for generalizing! I won't call you an idiot for your statement though, because you are entitled to your opinion just as everyone else here. Have a good one!
By your ideological interpretation you agree that England is within Great Britain. Im from Oxfordshire, and British is interchangeable with English. This is because England is a province within Great Britain. The United Kingdom is Great Britain plus North Ireland. Great Britain is a political term which describes the combination of England, Scotland, and Wales, the three nations which together include all the land on the island. So to clarify Englishmen ARE British. And yes They're the same place
Actually Celsius is not better. At least not in terms of graduation. It's one of the reasons why it is almost never used is medicine. It's a lot easier to describe a patients temperature when there are many more gradients. You get a lot more precision. The only practical reason Celsius is better is for freezing and boiling temperatures. 0 and 100 are a lot cleaner than 32 and 212.
Uh, me and my classmates designed, built, and programmed the robot ourselves in under 6 weeks after just finding out what the game we would be playing with it was and then proceded to go to a Regional Competition, win an award that allowed us to go to the National Competition, and ended up doing pretty well and impressing many established teams despite our amatuer status. Don't believe me? look up F.I.R.S.T. Robotics. It is an International Engineering competition series. We are Team 3947
Americans always used to condemn the British for their imperialism but look now, we've moved on to the metric system and they're the ones using imperial units. Thank you, thank you.
I agree the conversions for metric are far easier but I already know imperial units so I dont care to learn metric. I can suffice with what I have currently.
What rage quit did they reference
I think it was actually from one of their Supercross Let's Plays.
@@machr293 RQ FIFA Soccer 10
The addition of a BMX makes this game perfect
i love how jack says splash even if they dont land in liquid
Thursdays are the best days for watching RoosterTeeth.
As a European I never fail to appreciate how many people who grew up with the imperials system still prefer the metric system. You people are the best. Go science!
Now that I think of it East Pasila is a place in Finland. And the map was created by Redlynx and the redlynx office is in East Pasila (Helsinki) :D
metric makes more sense and easier to convert between different scales. But i still use imperial for construction, height of people, weight of people, golf.
LOL at the end "you'll be playing when I tell you to play for another pig or horse in the future"
Daaamn Jack, ruling with an iron fist!
Everyday is the best day to watch RoosterTeeth

Every time is hear jack on a gameplay or something he always says "aannnndd Splash" but the character hits concrete.
well, you could say that the imperial system is a bit more "convenient". if you need the length of an inch but don't have a ruler, just look at the distance between your second and third knuckle, and if you need the length of a yard, it's based on the average arm length of a man. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I could never understand what they were saying or why.
"4 in a row. I think you can pull this back!"
*looks at time bar*
"He's not going to pull it back."
....geoff plays the map before them to select the ones they would play
Luckily I know my math. Simply put Metric comes in x10 intervals such as 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000, etc... and Imperial is confusing in being 12in = 1ft, 3ft = 1yd, 1760yd = 1mi. metric makes more sense because Celsius has 0 for the freezing point of water which makes much more sense than 36 or whatever it is
As an Englishman, I love how Gav is bringing so much UK culture to RoosterTeeth. Things like Gumf and Faff and Yid Army! Clearly Gav is a Tottenham Fan ;)
?Which episode was it where Gavin says "I lost!" right at the beginning of the video?
I like how they all say they hate how gavin talks but they all pick up some of the things gavin say especially geoff
did anyone notice that whenever jack is commentating anyone fall he says "splash' even if they don't go into water
did they actually put in bicycles or was it made for that map?
Pasila is in Helsinki, Finland
As an American who went to school for AutoCAD mechanical and architectural drafting, Metric is awesome.
he wasnt saying today was friday, he was saying that fridays are the best for watching RoosterTeeth
Unless you are doing something other than measuring when water freezes and boils, temperature for common people is just how hot/cold is outside, and celsius is awful for that.
Whatever happened to the four player trial races?
Thanks for the heads up!
FYI, East Pasila is a place in Helsinki.
Kelvin is an absolute scale, where 0, is absolute zero(-273 degrees Celsius) Not only used in chemistry.
It's on the XBox Live Arcade, and no it's not free.
they draw the blueprints to the measurement units of the country that the building is being made in
how did you get the bmx bike thats cool

Yes, but he's correcting so that Fridays are the best days to watch RoosterTeeth. Assuming to watch Fails of the Weak, Game Night, etc.
i have to agree with you because everything is easier to convert like meters and grams
By your ideological interpretation you agree that England is within Great Britain. Im from Oxfordshire, and British is interchangeable with English. Haha I like that ending.
Alright watch our previous stuff.
What system is this game on? Computer or vid game console?
the bmx course looks sweet
You need to buy Paine island DLC then unlock it with in game money.
It's ridiculously expensive though, like $50,000 in game.
where do you play this game and is it free?
Jack beat gavin on maps he already played? What a suprise!
you have to get the Origons of Pain DLC
You should do A Trials Horse Tournament at some point. The Halo Reach one was funny
Does anyone know why Jack's gamertag was red for Gavin?
why? because it makes sense? 100 degrees Celsius is water boiling point and 0 degree's is water freezing point. Easy to remember, easy to measure.
i agree. metrics makes so much more sense and is easier to use
which rage quit video is the one he was referring to where they first said, "get on me" or something like that lol idk
Gavin: the wet route Jack: that was easy
It's really easy if you remember a yard is almost exactly a meter.
Actually Celsius is not better. At least not in terms of graduation. It's one of the reasons why it is almost never used is medicine. Trials Horse started exactly one half year back.
Americans always used to condemn the British for their imperialism but look now, we've moved on to the metric system and they're the ones using imperial units.
Thank you, thank you.
at 4:37 " yea its grippy and its nippy" XD
Love the video Gavin I love The Slow Mo Guys videos I think you and Geoff could do a funny one. =P
Wait, are you saying you can't find Europe, or Australia on a map?
New t shirt paying the bills with skills explains all of their jobs
LOLAt the begining Gavin said "DLC Penn Island" hahaha
I am American, and I prefer to use Metric. Granted this is only because of laziness, it is easier to count by 10 then by 12.
I wanna know what they were talking about in the rage quit.
2:06 did they just referenced matt from two best friends play?
Yes, jack. That is, indeed, 29 centimeters
How many times is Jack going to say "splash"?
flip ba flip... gavin had another stroke
I like how the other employees are starting to say things like Gavin...E.G. Caaar!
They are both very useful for very different purposes. Neither of them are better than the other, really
cause gavin made it, and what else would be on the shirt?, like another picture or something
yeah it's like 2.hugedecimal centimeters in an inch but at least kilometers to miles is pretty simple 1.6 km=1 mi
HOLY SHIT! THEY ACTUALLY PLAYED HORSE!
I agree the conversions for metric are far easier but I already know imperial units so I dont care to learn metric. I can suffice with what I have currently.
I think this is the first time Trials Horse is actually HORSE
very well said parkourtechguy
Who else thought the depths map looked like the little nightmares dlc of the same name?
I don't understand the "Get on me!" reference, i even watched the rage quit... what does it mean?
Uppercut Bus video, sorry it has nothing to do with this video but a lot of people seem to enjoy it. For anyone who hasn't watched it just look it up.
One word,dentist,we win
Im guessing that Gav and Micheal played FIFA for Rage Quit this week :)
green army originally Plymouth argyle or is it norwich
how do u get that ghost recon helmet
FLAWLESS VICTORY!
tut tut Gavin, there have been pigs longer than this.
are you saying you would rather be x carrots tall instead of x bananas tall? weigh x onions instead of apples?
The metric system is easier because it is measured by tens. Wow, I just had an epic nerd moment.
you guys are so awesome :)
yeah i'm canadian and i don't get fahrenheit celsius is easy below 0 is freezing and above 100 is boiling its so simple
No not really. But what do measurements have to do with horse?
Depends what timezone you're in.
I agree with you.
We Americans enjoy being different.
I dont think so its just on the XBLA ( xbox live arcade
Well, I understand that kmh is easier to convert into other forms of measurement. However I just find the mph is easier, I don't quite know why!
'4:15 Gavin - "Hopefully I can pull this back."
Me - *Looks at time remaining for the video* "Uh huh. Sure..."
which Gavin supports
Is the full game for trials HD
No It Is Only On The Xbox 360
