- Here is a 2-player strategy tile game where you attempt to either capture your opponents king or leave your opponent with only his king and 1 pawn. Great vintage game made back in 1976 and also has magnets in the board so with each game played the numbers will be different. You can also shift the board to also change up the magnets during play. I hope you enjoy the episode and the game! Subscribe today!
Nice! I found this game recently at the giftbox in my neighbourhood. I thought it's cool game to play, but often have difficulties understanding the instructions. This was a very clear explanation, thank you!! 😊👍🏼
I totally understand instructions can be hard to understand. So glad I did good! :) Thanks for watching!
I had this game as a kid. I absolutely loved it because I was really good at it.
Ha ha. Great memories for sure then! 😀
@@boardgameman6298There’s a version made from company Nathan. Is that the one made out of wood?
I have this game as well! I think it is a pretty cool game. I am looking forward to playing it if and when I find someone willing to do so! Thanks for sharing!
thank you I’ve had this game and never played it , looks fun
This is a cool fun strategy game.
I had this game back in 77
It broke, I got one off of eBay about 15 years ago. I love this game.
That's a bummer that it broke but it was very cool you were able to find it again! Thanks for watching!
Wow “ that’s a classic. I remember we had that game👍🏽 Stratego” Aggravation & Block the clock 💯
Have the game it’s been in storage for about 30 years now got it out and will introduce to my sons 8 & 11 - love showing them the board games I played as a child when I was their age because now kids don’t play board games any more. I will literally do anything to keep them away from playing or watching devices actually more importantly WANTing to use devices or watch video. I’ve been hitting eBay for games I no longer have. Now I know how to play shogun I’ll show them - It was my brother’s but I’ve been paying for the storage so It’s mine now. Thank you!!
That's great! Let me know when you show them how to play, I hope they enjoy it!
@@boardgameman6298 they had a great time playing the game! thanks
Had het vroeger, nu weer gekocht
Fijn de uitleg
I can only imagine the fights over what the starting number really was 😂
Ha ha. No kidding!
Amo este juego
Digital, I think they mean digital because of the number digits.
Or the magnetic power
I have this game.
Found it at Savers, it's a cool little game. Not too complex but can drive you crazy with the changing of the numbers. Ha ha
@@boardgameman6298 My wife love playing this game.
I love the magnetic game mechanism. However, if I made a mistake in placement it would frustrate me that the number changed and I can't get it back to the original number easily. lol
TRUE! ha ha ha
Yeah that would sucks
I have the game and the concept is great. For added fun we implemented a rule that no piece can be touched until the player decides which piece he will move and where it will go. This keeps the game suspenseful and spontaneous since the values constantly change. Thoughts?
That's a great idea, I like that!
Wrong shogun I was hoping for the Avalon hill million Bradley War game from the game master series lol but this seams cool too
Joya!
Nice! I just found out about this game and came looking for how it works.
I wonder if it's possible to build an analogue one. Like, made of wood. I'm thinking, maybe dice? But I guess part of the strategy is seeing the other pieces' numbers and anticipating their moves..
Also, do you know what's inside the pieces? Are they easy to open up?
Ok, I gave it some thought and I think I figured it out. Instead of rectangle pieces I'll drill out round ones. Each disc will have a quarter with a number of 1 to 4. In the drillhole I'll make an arrow and screw. Every time the piece has moved the player needs to give it a spin, and the number is selected!
I had plans to make, beside my original version, to make a version with dice. I have a demo working but not the computer AI, I should play it with 2 players first perhaps. The idea with dice is that by taking a different path the die-value can alter in the endfield, you could make a die come to a value you want on the destination.
@@MisterCasket , the stones hold a disc with numbers and a magnet under the board makes the disc and the small metal plate rotate, Most stones have a different order. It is even patented.
This game is hardly ever coded on a computer. Sofar I found the following versions:
1985 : C64 SHUGUN, rules are not coded correctly, against the computer
1991: Sam Coupe. 2 player version only
2010: ZX Spectrum version against the computer (MY PROGRAM)
2011: ZX81 version of ZX Spectrum game ((MY PROGRAM)
2014: TCKSOFT pay app
2020: Android app with simple AI
20??: another no longer working app
2021: ZX81 1K version (MY PROGRAM)
2021: Odyssey2/Videopac version, not released yet (MY PROGRAM)
2022: TRS80 MC10 version based on Odyssey2 program (MY PROGRAM)
2022: ZX81 1K version with 2 levels of play (MY PROGRAM)
Any other version known? Let me know!
Do you happen to remember the name of the android version? I'd love to try it out.
@@dakken74, tried to refind the app but only a 2 player version can now be played.
You could install a ZX Spectrum emulator and try the ZX Spectrum version (or the ZX81 version under the ZX81 emualtor on the ZX spectrum emulator).
