I do agree with the leak problem you talk about. I like hearing how things work on your side of things and how that affects you guys. Your stance towards your honesty and keeping your integrity is one of the reasons I love you guys, and will continue to support you.
😂 Joe, looking into the camera pathetically. 😢 all I could hear going through my mind was for just $30 a month you can sponsor a family from Rwanda where they’re only income is less than a $.50 a day. Love the show keep it up. Love the whole team.
when every codex costs nearly 100 aud (sorry 98 aud) i'm all for the army lists being leaked, but then i feel that with how often codexes have had their armylists changed post launch that codexes shouldn't have army lists in them and instead be lore and hobby tomes! the army lists should be released free and faq and erata changes made to the pdf of each factions rules instead of expecting the end user to remember or print out all the changes
Most of this could be solved by the day of digital release copies. If I pre-ordered my Kodex and then got a digital copy the same day then I could look through it, know what I need to plan, and buy additional units. Not waste money trying to buy certain units that may not even be in the Kodex anymore and then two weeks later I get my Kodex in the mail and everybody at the same time would have their copy in a digital format anyway
It’s a difficult area of conversation. It happens in all aspects of life. Football, apple iPhones and cars. These things are all just part of our greed to find out what is happening next. Only bit that doesn’t help with Warhammer is they should just make the rules free. Then they can be managed and dealt with properly on an online basis in a decent app.
If GW really wanted to stop the leakers they would mark a different page of each of the books sent out. i.e. page 1 for Liam, page 2 for TT, etc. Then when the leak happens they could tell who's copy was used.
To me it highlights how poorly managed the release of GW rules is that I have no legal way to get the new AoS path to glory rules that are meant to be out (delayed in Aus/NZ) but have already been shown multiple pdf copies of everything in the unreleased Eldar codex. GW need to have a think about the entire process, who needs what when and how to most effectively deliver that without compromising other steps.
I regularly go on "media blackouts" when a product I am excited about isn't out yet. If I know that I am already sold, I won't watch trailers, teasers or sneak peaks until the product is released. Leaks literally rob me of my own excitement of finally getting my hands on the product that I am ecstatic about that I purchased. So the practice of media blackouts denies people who lack self control to rob me of my own internal excitement. Other peoples lack of self control is easily countered by having my own extreme self control.
I've known people who leak content (not for 40k but other GW content) and they don't do it for praise, they do it because they think the community wants it and they're doing a community service. Personally I think that's a ridiculous excuse for childish impatience.
Im only 20mins in so this might be brought up later. But i would hope in future as well that channels such as yourselves get the full rules to a detachment each and are allowed to cover it in either a battle report or a deep dive and can release it before pre-orders so that people can see different channels and their interpretations of the different creating lots of viewss for yourselves and others
Agree, I don't enjoy leaks. It just wrecks the impact and surprise of the actual reveal. I know some official reveals are underwhelming; like, some of the reveal shows have been pretty rubbish (some fantastic), and some of those Heresy Thursday reveals are actually awesome models and I wish they got more fanfare. But still, it's nice to all find out together and get excited together. It's good for the community.
But I do also wish GW would be more transparent about what is going away, and what is being replaced. They do from time to time, just not all the time. (I have missed so many going away items by a single day, at the store, money in hand, no warning).
I'm not silly enough to buy codexes... but I can completely understand people (the leaker or the community) who rejoice that a corporation that pre-sells $70 codexes with 48" las pistols, scions without deepstrike, the votann fiasco, arks of omen, price increases, etc, etc, is "caught with their pants down." (I put quotations because there is nothing to say that GW doesn't want these leaks - more on that later.) Not to mention FLGs and the complete FARCE that is dealing with GW for them. I'm surprised with your lack of understanding tbh; there are A LOT of burned people and stores out there and they are completely fed up with GWs rampant incompetence and uncompromising and bullying business practices. Your channel is an unfortunate bystander but it is what it is, there are bigger problems afoot than your CPM. You just said that it is super hard for GW to make a couple dozen watermarked physical books.... you know GW is a FTSE 100 company, right? Literally one of the 100 most valuable companies in the UK, one of the highest GDP countries in the world? It's not fucking Ron and Betty in their garage injecting model dyes, hand-binding books lol.... get some perspective, fellas. They could solve this leak problem if they wanted to, their lack of action indicates that they dont and that they don't care that you can't talk about the codex first.
I talked to a Chinese producer about this just now - board game producer, but one of the largest and works in cardstock and printed products - they confirmed that at the rate GW buy product, their producer is almost certainly happy to print them as many unique watermarked copies as they want for free lol.
I do agree with your view on leaks. I play deathguard and the fact the new model got leaked like 3 months before our codex drops suck if that’s the only model…
I agree that in the last 10 years or so resin has been pretty garbage. There are a lot of things that probably need to be retired that they’ll eventually make into plastic. 20 years ago I bought a huge greater demon of corn and that scope was out 20 years until the coming of the 10th edition is it looking dated now yeah but it was May 20 years ago and when I bought mine, it was a decent quality product. I love that Greater Demon of Khorn GW will never make something like that there’s more of a work of art as much as it is a great model. There’s nothing more that I like to get with my local gaming group. A new guy will come up and we agreed to a game of play what you have. No, I don’t normally win but when I put out two chaos large nights and a greater demon of corn that’s as tall as they are. The guy usually shits himself.
So sad I missed grabbing the shadow spectre models. They were my 3rd favourite looking aspect warriors after Fire Dragons and then Striking Scorpions. I hope they come back in plastic sometime in the next few years.
I really enjoyed learning about your side of the story, it a bit sad tbh and I have a new view on leakers now. But can you do me a favour and phone James workshop and tell him to share previews of new release with slight changes in the Data like 1 creator gets avatar of khaine with T10 and GW makes a note of that, so when images are leaked they can identifier who was the source of the Leak.....
I would assume codexs/ battletomes come from stores getting early stock not content creators and the people involved don't care about NDAs or RUclips content in general. If you're someone who just engages with the hobby and not Warhammer content creators, of course you're going to see leaking the pages for other players/ wahapedia to see early as a positive for the community. This would be solved if there weren't physical books but GW just uploaded the rules on WarCom on the release day. I don't remember leaks when the indexes came out.
Tin foil hat leak theory: the leaker is in the pocket of the top channels benefiting from the leaks Taking a small cut of ad revenue and the in-video sponsor on the basis that those channels can almost guarantee a level of engagement with that content Might be a bit optimistic on the intellect front there though Great rant boys, bring back the Liam codex review. Unintended slamming of Adrian's book-open codex reviews...? To be fair though, it is the weakest content they put out, so it's not unwarranted
Tell me you didn’t understand our point without telling me you didn’t understand our point… I mean we made it pretty clear too. At this point I’m not even sure you watched the video.

Thank you so much. Appreciate you 🫶🏻🫶🏻
As the Eldar have eight attachments, I would love to see you guys do a Saturday show so that you can cover more of the different detachments
Catching up on demand. I love it when you're sat at the table hobbying. ❤ glad you're riding the hobby train CHOOCHOO!
Such a hype right now.

About resin, yeah. It looks that way, and I am on a resin streak to get a hold of what I can before it's gone.
"Love me" - Joe.

Personally . Eldar arent my bag. However, i would be down to watching an eldar gane a day while you go through all the detatchments.
Leaking is bad mmkay

Your job is basically covering rules...
And other people getting excited over rules is bad because its not you....
Got it
