That’s because ww2 guys were fighting against something that had actually attacked their country. They believed it was honorable, and surviving that war, was a gift. We lost so many when we fought ppl on level playing field. It’s insane that a lack of losses on our side produced this crazy attitude. Also we indoctrinate these kids from early on, during the Iraq war many acted as if it was a video game. Killing wasn’t the goal for men of the past, saving their country and their fellow men was. Why I hate to hear, "Thank you for your service." The fuckery and corruption is untold. Same for law enforcement. Driving a truck (alone) is so much less stressful. Being alone does not equate to being lonely.
The Drama in SF world from the US is crazy, it should be called "The Real SF from ...." You tend not to hear all this infighting and bitching from SF units in other countries, they may have had personality clashes but never so publicly. A naval SEAL can be put through selection/BUDs without prior military experience where other units have to, tempering that physically ability with experience and more maturity. Navy Seals or not, they're a product of their generation. Old school warfighters from the 60's and 70's were the offspring of the "Greatest Generation" and grew up accordingly. As time passed, their offspring and then their offspring got further away from that mindset (trophies for showing up, everyone is special, throw a tantrum until you get what you want, and on and on and on) until now, even those going into the military have a completely different mindset than their predecessors. Sure, there are exceptions but across the board, they're not the same people that came before them. I've seen it from a law enforcement prespective. I spent 32 years as a LEO including as an agency trainer for 10 years before I retired. I then spent 15 years at the state academy as a trainer. The same thing occurred over those years. The folks coming through the academy now are a far cry from those I went through with in 1977. As with the military, lower standards, more "inclusiveness", the feminization of society as a whole, and such, have dumbed us down.
We defeated the Iraqi military in 1 month.... the us military couldnt and didnt defeat any nation on its own in the 1910s, 1920s, 30s, 40s 50s, or 60s, or 70s or 80s. Not a single one. Thats like saying "if only the ww1 soldiers were better and more disciplined we wouldnt have had ww2". Not exactly. The current military would eviscerate the gulf war military, which would annhilate a 1970s military, and so on and so on. Just like professionally trained armored knights lost to untrained peasants with arquebuses and muskets. We put a small number of people in a highly volatile region, and tried replacing their entire legal, social, and governmental system with something we dont even want in America. Its a bit unfair to pin 100% or even 50% of the blame on the small number of boots on the ground. Strategically, our leadership failed us just like the leadership and generals of ww1 and vietnam. It didnt make a difference how well our soldiers did in the field or how much honor they had when our leadership had none.
Let me get this straight. SEALS are taking personal photos during ops. I think I rather them take ears and noses(no). Last time I checked, we are not supposed to know anything about any ops including murdering other operators in Mali. The problem with the SEALS today is we are seeing them in the news and PODCAST.
SEALs are becoming clout chasers. Social media really is the fucking worse but here we are watching these videos and commenting on them. We are part of the problem.
I read Eddie's book. My brother was also in the Navy, not NSW, but at the amphib base where Eddie's team was, so he slightly knew him there. Told me that Eddie seemed cool and NCIS is full of lying traitors.
@10:20 "Any chief has to look out for their guys" LOL, DAFUQ?! Do you have *ANY* *IDEA* how many chiefs fucked me over in my 5 years in the service? I lost fucking count!
40-yrs associated with the USAF, you get a new Commander, 1st Sgt, Chief, and Fire Chief every 2-3 years.I can count on one hand the number of good ones (if that hand was missing 2-fingers). The #1 concern of 99% of military commanders and Sr. NCO's is their own career! Most do not give a flying fk about you and are more than happy to throw your ass under a bus if it'll cover their asses or make them look good.
Eddie Gallagher was indicted for killing an EPW. Stabbed the kid repeatedly in the chest and neck. The kid was unarmed and wounded. Then Eddie took pics with the dead kid and sent them to his friends. He can't deny that part, because he was formally charged. Although, the cold blooded murder charge was dropped. Now I see another video with him. He insists that his own squadron was out to get him, they are at fault, and he resigns himself as a hero. Did I get anything wrong here?
First that sniper dude had problems with seals and now even their superior was dealing with a bunch of child murderers making up lies. Not really the best look.
I like Eddie but man, when he has to frame it in a way that so many people, in so many different areas of the military have it out so bad for him, kind of hard to believe him. Especially after seeing the texts he was sending to his buddy, he's definitely not some innocent victim in all of this.
Pray tell HOW did you see Gallagher’s texts? Let me guess; you actually believed the lies pushed by the Navy JAG corps and the media? How typical of ITGs.
Obviously you're not in the military and haven't the slightest clue how things work and how people actually behave in the real world. 1st, you have to understand that seals are essentially supremely trained psychopathic killers! Real killers! They are not your average, normal, Joe the plumber type citizens. And thank God for them! Seals are tasked with doing things that would destroy the minds and bodies of 99.9999% of humanity, and they have to operate at that level for 20-yrs before they're eligible for retirement. Add to that the "Normal" human pettiness, jealousy, greed, envy, disdain for authority, etc... and you have a volatile, toxic mix of Nitroglycerin, AVGas, and 100KV of electricity!
It was not " many people " that's exactly the problem and misconception. A SEAL Platoon is 16 Seals an Task Unit is two platoons of 32 Seals. Eddies Task Unit was working with A MARSOC Company, an EOD Group and Iraqi ERD Special Forces Parter Force Battallion. So out of all those people these accusations were coming from 4 Seals. Those four Seals didn't even start accusing him of anything until almost a years after the deployment though they had planned the set up while on deployment. They began by accusing him of a bunch of petty BS. For example stealing from care packages. These were communal care packages that Eddie and his wife arranged for everyone they didn't belong to any individual, One guy accused Eddie of stealing his expensive shooting glasses. That guy later found his glasses behind his cot but he accused Eddie anyway. They accused him of using bad or overly aggressive tactics that the chain of command confirmed were perfectly acceptable tactics thst had been used by Seal Platoons for decades. They just kind of kept throwing shit at the wall to see what would stick. Finally they accused him pf stabbing and murdering the ISIS prisoner and the NSW Chain of Command and NCIS jumped in with both feet without looking then they added the accusation he shot( sniped) innocent people. In the end those charges were deemed not credible but because NCIS and NSW had gone out on such a limb after the Murder Charge they decided they had to frame him to save face as they couldn't admit they simply made a mistake in charging him. At the trial and hearing leading up to the trial none of Eddies Accusers was even allowed to take the stand or give any written testimony and Eddie was not allowed to face his accusers as is his right even in the Military Justice System. It became a trial based entirely on hearsay from NCIS. As someone who had a little time in the USSOCOM Community this kind of this is not uncommon and the entire chain of command particularly inside USSOCOM was eager to Prosecute Operators to make examples to just to show they were serious about War Crimes. They didn't honestly care if you were guilty or not as long as it served their purpose. In the end the MARSOC guys, EOD guys, and other SEALs in the Task Unot all came to Eddies Defense and testified on his behalf. The Iraqi Commander flew all the way from Baghdad to do the same. Even after he was found not guilty on all but the photo charge( which he didn't even intentionally do) the guys accusing him were the ones who tool the photos all he did was want to re-enlist on the Battlefield. It's just that there were dead guys lying around in that photo.. Even after he was found not guilty they attempted to reduce him in rank, take away his retirement, Trident and benefits as well as they went after those who testified for him with the same BS. They didn't do that for any real purpose other than to retaliate( which is itsef a felony) and so they would not walk away with a total loss. The President pardoned Eddie on the Final Charge and even after that had to directly read the chain of command the riot act and directly order them not once but three tines verbally and directly to back the f off and let the guy retire in peace and leave all those other Operators who were guilty of nothing else but telling the truth in peace.
They didn't allow or force Eddies Accuser to testify or even give a written deposition because at that point they knew they would be committing Perjury if they did so. They hacked his communications and spied on privlaged legal council info and broke the law in dozens of different ways going after Eddie because very soon after this began they knew full well he was innocent and could not afford the embarrassment and criminal liability they were potentially facing.
Grampyscott, I concure. The FACT that the Navy JAG corps willingly violated Gallagher’s rights by listening into his conversations with legal counsel says it all.
Well he did admit (brag?) in his documentary interview about using the prisoner as a "cadaver for medical practice", hence the tranche tube and the tubes in his sides being photographed, administered without anaesthetic and without reason or need. What should have happened to him? How many more US servicemen have targets on their backs because of his actions? That's now how the good guys are supposed to do it.
As a vet - I just want my feed to just not be these videos but here I am commenting on the damn video that will continue the shit show veteran trash talking podcasts 🇺🇸
@9:20 mark, the Chief’s advice to his lying, potential war crime committing junior SEALs is “you guys need get your stories straight & stick to your story”? Not to just tell the truth…not that he has no choice but to report them…?!? Are there any SEALs that have ANY integrity?
A few of the guys don’t represent the entire community, if your family member was a pervert, and now your entire family is labeled as perverts is that accurate?
@josesaldana5594 Of course not. But if my Uncle was accused, and he was telling his sons who he knew were likely guilty to lie & conspire to get away with it, and I was NOT denouncing them all...then I would understand why people would have reason to question other members of our family.
Tragic that it ended in a mess. These guys are badasses and in life or death situations by their own choice to protect us all. Hate to see them come out of the service as enemies but I’m eternally grateful for the men who fight for freedom. People who are saying this guy or the other guy etc seems shady and haven’t been in the same situation are lucky to have all of them protecting us. I know I wouldn’t have made it through the same situations without issues from what they did for all of us civilians.
Did you check the "system" i.e. scope, sight? Some guys are offended if you dont check. They feel as if its on them when nobody comes to check the locked system.
I respect what the seals are and do....but there is way too much crap going down. Drugs, Lies, etc..... A serious review and assessment needs to be done.
all eddie does is whine and complain about his fellow seals, the ones he was supposed to lead. says a lot about his leadership when he blames those under him instead of taking ownership
Also, I feel like civilians (I am not a vet) bash the SEAL community so bad because of jealousy, ego- misery loves company- and it would be easier to berate a (one of the most) legendary special forces community than to look at theirselves, and sit with their discomforts. I try not to comment because I did not earn the right to talk sh*t.
Wow, after hearing the other side to this story about Eddie, I'm ashamed that Julian chose to omit it. This is craziness, of course he went to prison. Wow, this guy is a psychopath and has led you to believe in him. The allegations by real SEALS seems to be that Eddie was killing civilians, and just creating a false image of himself.
I will say in eddie’s case. He dang sure has every right to talk as much sh*t as he wants about whoever. Thankfully some justice was serviced at least on his behalf.
Best description I’ve heard regarding SEALs, “extreme athletes with weapons”. Best we keep them on the water and away from land based operations. In my humble opinion.
The fact that his own team tried to screw him with an Isis fighter tells you how low his seal teammates were. I’m sure eddy was probably one of those dickheads that were in charge but anyone that served knew someone like that. It doesn’t warrant trying to put him in prison and fabricating something false as a group. That’s some next level pre meditated shit right there. Glad one of the dudes in the end found Jesus and did the right thing. I had a e-6 section chief and I straight up told him he used to be a dickhead when I was a private during our OIF deployment and years later again when he was my WLC instructor when I was an e-5. Til this day, he would try to validate to me that he’s gotten better at not a dick anymore. He doesn’t have to say that at all but the fact that he tells me means something. The fact he acknowledges it tells me I told him in an appropriate way by his standards. He could have easily grilled me or shown hatred but he didn’t. I respected him but told him what needed to told in a way he doesn’t hold a grudge. The seals need to revamp their program to be more like green berets. Age plays a big factor into this especially on a maturity level.
Its interesting to see how much ppl baby this guy on their podcasts. Was he treated unfairly? Without a doubt, but you dont get an entire seal platoon to hate your guts and try to ruin your life by simply sending them an a couple extra assaults. Dont really trust anything he says.
No matter if he puts another guy's name in small text on thumbnail. Most people casually reading over it will read it like he's talking about Eddie. Which makes more people click Because yay drama ??!!??
The host of these videos is buying everything Eddie says,...he's more interested in coming across as humorous and witty than asking the right questions. I think he's succumbed to hero worship and instead of getting to the bottom of the story he wants to be buddies with the seal...
What exactly are the right questions here? Also, this is a snippet from a near 4 hour episode, so I would imagine that what you feel are the right questions got asked. But again, alot of podcasts and shows are trying to get people on to just hear their stories and whats going on, where they came from and so forth, so I don't think they want to run it like an interrogation
These issues arise in small teams that operate in high stress environments. Listening to these situations after time and not being part of it, sounds like complete absurdity as an outsider. The military should take pause here and realize the danger in these small units. They are no different than police teams that get involved in scandals. Group think and the end justifies the means thought is extremely dangerous when not checked.
There's always tension coming near the end of deployment, long exercises and tours.. Get use to it, I did. You learn to blank out the bitching and complaining, apparently a happy soldier is a complaining one.
@@jedprice9122bro what? Just say you don't agree why you got to insult someone because they have a different perspective from you... Guess you haven't learned much despite being around so long. SMH
You are just wrong about MARSOC not being in Iraq. While I was over there they had a mission that turned sideways and several got killed in a cave. It had a big impact on operations throughout the middle east.
At first the rot set into Army Combat Support and Combat Service Support Units. Finally it started rotting Combat Arms- the Infantry then the Airborne Infantry. Ten the Rangers and then finally into the Special Forces. The Cause was lack of leadership. There were less and less leaders through time. DEI was the end of Merit and it will be the end of our Army.
@@thegreenberetlife01913 of the guy's went on to DEVGRU and the others went on to be BUD/S instructors before retiring. Maybe look up why Gallagher was kicked off green team.
He said himself and n a podcast that they purposely tortured that kid w medical procedures. They showed some of the interviews with other seals saying that he’s psychotic. War is hell but the US doesn’t level buildings indiscriminately or execute people like this guy did. If you don’t care then you’re part to f the huge problem this country is having.

These men are trained to be military tools, almost non-human. I can't imagine how the human brain and body can withstand the level of stimulus that these folks go through. You can't beat the law of physics. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, be it good or bad.
None of what he's saying is anything new to me. I was stationed in Bosnia and the Yankee soldiers were always doing seriously bad shit. E.g. at 1 point something bad happened to a civilian & 2 days later the suspect was evacuated out of the base for "personal reasons" in what was a move clearly designed to get him as far away from the crime scene as possible. I cannot stress enough that this only ever happened with the Americans. They have a habit of covering up when up their cowboys commit war crimes.
Really? Cite a single incident that occurred in Bosnia that was committed by U.S. troops and was covered up. Be careful; I have family members and friends who were stationed in Bosnia; they would know far more than you about any event that occurred.
@@stevehicks8944 the 1 thing that stands out to me was that during the SFOR 7 deployment that a member of your 49th armoured division was rumoured to have executed a local woman. 2 days later he was flown back to the U.S. before he could be spoken to by NATO officials and never seen again. we later found out (from other US personel) that tests had shown that she was raped 1st. it was war, we all do shit that we are not proud of but that was sickening. full stop.
Good grief. Dorey sure has an odd sense of humor. The outbreaks of laughter while the stone-faced Prince is talking about something very serious is quite awkward.
funny all you hear from a part of the spec ops community is i did this i was there doing what ever. the only thing i ever heard from my father 2 tours Vietnam green beret was i was never in Cambodia or Laos wink wink. he took his secrets into Alzheimer's land. same for his seal buddies and marine recon friend from nam. they are silent as always. even going through all his military paperwork it looks like the sharpie was in full effect.
How so? Ever read The Hague Conventions or the Geneva Conventions? Doubtful, but if you want to talk about “war criminals” how about we discuss Dick Cheney?
No dout the Seal teams are are toxic. None of the other "famous former seals come across Shady af like eddie imo. And thats based all on him speaking , how and what he says. He should not do interviews lol
If Demey is right the culture needs to change. Like in fighting some use steroids because they can’t compete without them. Some of these guys are the same. Without the roids they wouldn’t have made it. Just shows the quality of human has dropped drastically over the decades. Green berets seem to be the only quiet professionals. Their motto isn’t bad either.
Real "alphas" are very cohesive. A real alpha does not need recognition, and does not need to brag or boast. A real alpha can accept criticism without defensiveness, and learn any lessons to be learned. A real alpha can put the needs of others before their own. A real alpha can lead, or follow, depending on the needs of the moment. From the available information, it appears EG was a sailor who was not capable of competently executing the responsibilities of a command position in a combat environment.
Chief Gallagher never stabbed him. He wrote the book to get his story across because his E-6s were new generation making excuses not to go on ops and blaming their chief for every little thing.
Fuck the terrorist. I am far more concerned about Eddie shooting a school aged girl and an old man in Iraq, as 8 of his fellow seals accused him of. What an piece of garbage.
If I recall, EG a Navy Corpsman 🏥 provided first aid but the enemy combatant was seriously wounded. EG in my view should of got a UCMJ action, lost rank over the pics but not all the crazy court martial nonsense 📂 ...
The irony of Eddie getting locked up and tortured by the military was that his SEAL training actually got him ready for this, preventing him from breaking.

Can you elaborate on Mali
@@Mannsy83 Army Special Forces Staff Sergeant Logan Melgar. Murdered by a couple of SEALs and MARSOC dudes.
I'm probably the worst navy seal. I never even joined the Navy.
At least you admit it. Most opining here think they’re “badasses” because they can pound their puds and play Call of Duty at the same time.
Not as bad as me, I can't even swim. And I'm white so no crocodiles.
go empty the hotdog water, pablo.....
I’m worse than you, as I never even THOUGHT about joining the USN. RN, yes.
I read Eddie's book. My brother was also in the Navy, not NSW, but at the amphib base where Eddie's team was, so he slightly knew him there. Told me that Eddie seemed cool and NCIS is full of lying traitors.
Your brother sounds like a meat rider
That’s why I became a warrant officer I got sick of the enlisted bullshit and I could make a difference.
Navy seals are like this mainly because they don’t screen for mental discrepancies whereas army SF and Delta do also seals are usually a lot younger
How do you lose absolute confidence in your team and laugh about it?
Aw, c'mon people...Tim Kennedy did it.
He’s definitely the worst. Perfect title.
Eddie was railroaded. Enough of the BS.
The unfortunate truth is that none of us were there and we don’t know. It’s like the Marcus Lutrell situation - no one will ever know the truth.
That's now how the good guys are supposed to do it.
the same thing happens in the Australian SASR
These subordinates bitching to each other about the boss is so typical.
We all did in one way or another.
Same thing cops do. Unfortunately.
You’re a naive cornball.
I was once told there’s 3 sides to a story. Your side, my side, and the truth.
I'm always right so no.
10:20 No, not any chief will look out for his guys. A REAL chief will look out for his guys.
Jocko needs exposed ! He’s not a hero
I will say in eddie’s case. He dang sure has every right to talk as much sh*t as he wants about whoever. Thankfully some justice was serviced at least on his behalf.
These dudes are all drama. Jesus Christ
Yep, sounds like a bunch of hens. The Real HouseIves version of the Navy Seals….dipshits.
Alot but eddie was locked up he has a reason to be on here . Unlike the a ti hero jerk off tring shit on everything
He seems more than a tadge deranged. Id give him his pension but take away any weapons lisenses. Brave man, if slightly unhinged
It's fascinating how these guys are both legitimate badasses and as gay as a bench clearing baseball fight...
SEALS accused Eddie of stabbing a prisoner multiple times in the neck. What in the world? This guy is sick.
Seals are the Mean Girls in the SF community
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
These issues arise in small teams that operate in high stress environments.
Listening to these situations after time and not being part of it, sounds like complete absurdity as an outsider.
The military should take pause here and realize the danger in these small units. They are no different than police teams that get involved in scandals.
Group think and the end justifies the means thought is extremely dangerous when not checked.
This is also a side effect of the culture of elitism that develops in these types of units....
Gee its almost like we shouldn't have been there
There's always tension coming near the end of deployment, long exercises and tours.. Get use to it, I did. You learn to blank out the bitching and complaining, apparently a happy soldier is a complaining one.

You are just wrong about MARSOC not being in Iraq. While I was over there they had a mission that turned sideways and several got killed in a cave. It had a big impact on operations throughout the middle east.
@ asked about it and you are correct. I apologize. I was thinking 2006 to 2011 timeframe.

Millenial SEALs.... neat
Do you have AI make your titles 😂 this isn’t the first time where it does not sound the way you probably hope that it does lmao
Out of your price range? Yeah, I believe that Julian...

These men are trained to be military tools, almost non-human. I can't imagine how the human brain and body can withstand the level of stimulus that these folks go through. You can't beat the law of physics. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, be it good or bad.
Watching this stuff just confuses me now. Im done. God love the good ones but clearly there's work to be done.

poor timing of your add card.. the popup came last time when the guy was talking about what they heard on the moon.
2 days later he was flown back to the U.S. before he could be spoken to by NATO officials and never seen again. we later found out (from other US personel) that tests had shown that she was raped 1st. it was war, we all do shit that we are not proud of but that was sickening. full stop.
Eddie is just trying to create a fake illusion of himself of being someone great. Who did you kill there, Eddie? Civilians?
Good grief. Dorey sure has an odd sense of humor. The outbreaks of laughter while the stone-faced Prince is talking about something very serious is quite awkward.
Who is that tool?
funny all you hear from a part of the spec ops community is i did this i was there doing what ever. the only thing i ever heard from my father 2 tours Vietnam green beret was i was never in Cambodia or Laos wink wink. he took his secrets into Alzheimer's land. same for his seal buddies and marine recon friend from nam. they are silent as always. even going through all his military paperwork it looks like the sharpie was in full effect.
War criminal

I’d rather be the worst Seal ever than the greatest civilian in recorded history.
Throw a bunch of alpha dudes together and expect real cohesion....really?
Real "alphas" are very cohesive. A real alpha does not need recognition, and does not need to brag or boast. A real alpha can accept criticism without defensiveness, and learn any lessons to be learned. A real alpha can put the needs of others before their own. A real alpha can lead, or follow, depending on the needs of the moment. From the available information, it appears EG was a sailor who was not capable of competently executing the responsibilities of a command position in a combat environment.
Why did you stab a dead terrorist and brag about it though?
Chief Gallagher never stabbed him. He wrote the book to get his story across because his E-6s were new generation making excuses not to go on ops and blaming their chief for every little thing.
@benhammerhead376 jesus christ you're stupid
What are u doing with the titles ? Eddie is gonna be livid , not right man
