This is painfully slow to watch, about a million clicks later and you've rotated the object precisely, coming from Sketchup and now getting into Blender, I'm frustrated it's this hard to rotate an object precisely... I know there are addons to make this much faster, I'll be hunting for the fastest way. Please let me know if you know of a much faster solution then this, would love to see it and I'm sure a great video update.

Simply moving, rotating, aligning and snapping in Blender had alway driven me absolutely insane. Like the 'Right Click" nonsense that went on for so long, these most basic functions are so unintuitive it must have stopped countless thousands of people learning this application. What on earth is the point of "Grab" moving objects around in the 2D screen space by default?? Why? What is the possible use is that? Even Sketchup destroys Blender when it comes to these very simple tasks.

      what should be the default?

That is one of the reasons we see many Add-ons trying to give solutions to those problems. In many ways, it is almost mandatory to use Add-ons to develop any design with Blender.

hello, this kind of tutorial on one simple thing should be 1 minute long and not 5, sorry but they are really inefficient, lot of repeat words and sentances. By the way cad transform addon has probably a solution for 3d rotation.

Thanks for the feedback. But, I disagree.
Since I was trying to provide context and a reason to find a solution for the 3D Rotation, I needed to demonstrate how it works on other tools (Rhino) and explain how it relates to Blender.
Besides that, I never assume people knows all the steps. It will end up being a long video.

@@blender3darchitect The length of the video doesn't make it efficient and that's my point; you could explain all this steps without repeating 3 times the same thing or with big blank. Probably just need some more editing, just saying.

@@blender3darchitect And by the way it would be a 15s video with CAD transform. Even if it's a paid addon (and I've no fee on this) it would be much more encouraging for people who really want to do CAD with blender.

Absolutely! I will include more Add-ons later as topics for videos/tutorials. I still have to start a series on CAD Sketcher and many others. Thanks again for the feedback!

@@blender3darchitect yes, sorry if I have the critic a bit rude but your themes/subjects are appealling but the length / content importance and attention required are not yet coherent I feel, which could make one hesitant to watch them. Anyway keep up the good work. You should have a look at TechSec and section box addon too which are very good and usefull.
