  • ONE CRAZY ROAD TRIP ACROSS PNG WITH ONE MAN AND HIS FATHER-IN-LAW - 'Tinpis Run' is a comedy film from Papua New Guinea that follows the adventures of Papa and Naaki, two unlikely friends who drive around the country in a taxi. Along the way, they encounter gambling, robbery, tribal warfare, and political corruption. Their hilarious misfortunes are reminiscent of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, but with a twist of post-colonial critique.
Watch this film to see how Papa and Naaki navigate the challenges and joys of PNG life with humor and resilience.

Yes, that’s the old Umi bridge shown in the film that was later destroyed by a flood and subsequently rebuilt with the new one that is still in use today.

wonderful movie. ❤️💜 100% authentic PNG. Wish those days were never gone. It would have been exciting today travelling the highway any time in a truck like 'Tinpis' with a trusted driver but not really the buscrew😁😁😁

I agree with your comment that Tinpis Run is a very informative film about the type of lifestyle back in the days from the highlands to the coast. It is clear that the filmmakers put a lot of thought and effort into covering all the different aspects of Papua New Guinean culture. The film does a great job of showing the contrast between traditional village life and the more modern lifestyle of the city.
I also appreciate that the filmmakers do not shy away from showing the challenges of living in Papua New Guinea. The film shows the poverty, the lack of infrastructure, and the political corruption that are all too real in the country. However, the film never becomes too bleak. It remains hopeful and optimistic, and it shows the resilience of the Papuan people.
Overall, Tinpis Run is a very well-made and informative film. It is a great way to learn about Papua New Guinea and its people.
