I don thtink one decent DT for 1 million makes us start winning games. Unless he was elite. The overall defense and scheme is what will make a difference at this point, and development of players. But they gotta get 1 player with some experience, even from a lower conference like Suggs or Addington.
I really like Suggs. He has the size and experience. Jared Verse came from Albany, and several schools tried to get him, including LSU. Now this DT has kicked FSU out of the running. Too many connections there with LSU and BK. Crossing my fingers that this is the one. Get the ULM DT too.
It is crazy to me that LSU is looking at being fine with a top 60 defense. It is hard for me to feel comfortable with that. I think the offense will be at least a top 15 with those RBs, Oline, WRs and Mason Taylor.
YOU PAY THE PLAYERS! Then figure out how to keep the other guys happy. Then pay every elite player on your team a million dollars. Then pay half good kids 500k. When NIL is a reality and you don't pay the going rate for top quality DT's, the only person you are screwing is yourself and the LSU fan base who apparently doesn't deserve a play off team and the $25 million dollars that goes along with making the play offs. Sure recruits need to be developed. However, already developed transfer portal players need to be paid. So stop wasting everybody's time by even talking to them since you never planned to pay them. Or otherwise, because LSU's NIL is so embarrassingly weak and you loons just don't want to admit it!
they paid cj daniels at a position that wasn't really a need six figures.. plus y'all keep talking about this recruiting class in 25 that nobody hasn't signed plus if we go off of history LSU always loses top players on signing day.. so it's no guarantee you're going to get all of them that you're naming..

Not crazy at all. You have to build back up. You forget that Ed O ran this into the ground, and I mean full force.
You have no idea what our defense will be rated. Having elite defensive coaches will make a huge difference from last year.
