I'm glad Ben has his own channel. I learned a lot from Ben in his video's teaching children, and I'm proud to say I defeated a 2200 rated bot today and still use the principles I remember from his lectures. He always made learning fun with his excellent brand of humour.
He's been super helpful to me too! I remember the first time I beat the Nelson Bot in an 80-something move game. I'm sure I missed a million chances, but I just kept playing principles and ground him down eventually. All thanks to Ben's lectures, rules, and personality. Go Ben!!!
That's awesome! Chess has also helped me get through some bad periods in my life, (drugs) and when I was locked up during those bad times I was able to beat all those guys in their lol @@JojenReed
9:00 Ke5 was his 40th move and he had 3 minutes before playing it and he actually thought down to 7 seconds on the clock before gaining the 30 minutes after his move
It's getting worse. Time expands at an increasing rate. I'm cooking minute rice in 20 seconds at the most. Every work shift feels like a full 24 hours. Please send help.
Epic-humour Finegold-better knowledge Agadmator-for old times sake Any other recommendations? I like the evaluation bar and the clock. Ben doesn’t include these.
GM Ben, greetings from the PHILIPPINES, 8:33 was Gukesh miss the winning move? *_What if pawn takes knight, then IF rook captures rook on d4, then the bishop move to d5, covering the retreat of the rook at the back, then if Ding captures the bishop, the pawn will become queen in a few moves, winning the game_* am I right GM?
This is the best game so far but the challenger’s flowery optimism during the news conference almost sounded like he was winning. His comments reminded me of Kasparov vs Short PCA title where Nigel was so proud of his opening preparations he would leave the table for prolonged periods yet still losing the match 12-1/2 to 7-1/2. Gukesh needs to be more hungry and needs to stop patting himself on the back for putting pressure on Ding for a few minutes with only a draw as a result.
He said it looks like a grunfield and a Benoni. I said its looks like a Catalan. Shows why I'm commentating on youtube an not playing as Ben would say.
I like these recaps, but there are several obvious problems. First, there is no clock. Second, there is no computer evaluation. Third, it is hard to figure out who is playing white and who is playing black.
Ben Finegold. The only chess youtuber that I will almost ALWAYS watch 100% of the time, mostly.

I think this is the best recap I have seen on youtube🙂 straight to the point, factual, easy to understand, thanks!
9:00 Ke5 was his 40th move and he had 3 minutes before playing it and he actually thought down to 7 seconds on the clock before gaining the 30 minutes after his move
Also they only get the 30 sec increment after move 40.
He paid for 3 minutes, he's gonna use 3 minutes
Great recap! Cutting to the chase, easy to understand, no clickbait; all the good stuff!

Help is on the way, just give it 5 minutes.
@lb5818 Well if time is expanding then you'll eventually reach a point where you can study chess and work at the same time 😊
Very possible you need some something
Never underestimate the resilience of Ding Petrosian!
Cant spell defending without ding
Another excellent episode of Fine Minutes with Ben Fivegold.
I love the bonus minutes! Thank you for the recaps.
Ben setting the standard for future videos. 25 minutes!
Love these! Thank you Ben
Nice commentry ben thanks for sharing. Hope you can fit game 8 in. Really enjoyable games, have a great poker game ❤
Awesome recap!
It’s warmed up in Saskatoon to 5 below. However the power is out. It’s so nice to have chess to watch. It’s definitely 💯 worth watching!
7:09 I love that the terrible knight actually will save the day later :)
However many minutes with Ben is my favourite however many minutes with Ben
Just rename to minutes with Ben, go Ben!
Another episode of 16 minutes and 31 seconds with Ben!

I like the evaluation bar and the clock. Ben doesn’t include these.
Loving these however-long recaps. Grunfeld, Seinfeld, yadayada
Kf3, Kg2, Kg1=Q, Papa John’s.
Helpful comment inserted!

Please do a recap of game 8 Ben🙏
best recap evah

Pressure is starting to eat away their nerves, good!
good luck!
I left this comment like you asked even though I'm not as good at chess as stockfish
Like for the Seinfeld reference.
A king can promote only to a pawn.
Ben has extra time for us because "5 minutes with Karen" takes just 45 seconds
Five minutes, and five minutes, and five minutes, creeps in its petty pace from game to game
Are you going to be in boston area anytime soon?
If Ding would’ve gone a5 his last move then Gukesh could’ve captured en passant with the king to end the game
Gukesh took way too long to buy the Move-The-King DLC. 'Keep your king in E1 on the endgame' is not a Capablanca-approved principle
Never not take the Knight....Ghoda BKL...
I miss 5 minutes with Ben :D
He said it looks like a grunfield and a Benoni. I said its looks like a Catalan. Shows why I'm commentating on youtube an not playing as Ben would say.
Evaluation during game seemed to be bias? Not yours live broadcast
When are you going to teach us poker?😅
i caught about five minutes of the game before i went on about my day . thanks for the recap
Darn! I wish Gukesh won!
Day 2 of telling ben he does not know how long 5min last
It's totally going to end up 7-7 isn't it
@@cygnustsp if the games are as great as this one, I'm ok with that

You have best recaps out there but please change the title, 5 mins with gm ben Finegold not fittin
I'm not sure any of these have actually been five minutes long. It just sounds better than "However long with Ben"
