This song is so insanely vulnerable. She’s grieving the loss of someone she used to be with while being with someone new basically apologizing to who she’s currently with for grieving and missing an ex who passed💔

the harmonies part at the end was actually supposed to be a Verse 3, but Ariana couldn't continue as she kept breaking down while recording it, so they replaced it with pure harmonies which is insanely beautiful

Scooter Braun, Ariana’s manager made her put this song on the album and she said she didn’t want it on the album bc it’s so personal. She has another unreleased song from this time about mac called “reMeMber” and fans try to get it leaked but most fans respect that Ariana doesn’t want anyone to hear it.
I feel so bad that she didn't want to and was made to release it but it's so beautiful

she is a super talented woman, she does have some cracks in live performances, laughs, or falling. but she knows what she is doing and she knows how to use her voice. its angelic really.

I think this is just as sad as imagine, but ghostin is more blunt and apologetic. Imagine gives off "I know I'm in denial" vibes. Both are insanely sad.

Ari was with Mac miller they broke up ( rumors were because of his addiction). She then started dating and quickly got engaged to Pete Davison. As we know max soon passed away if drug overdose. This devastated Arianna. Mac was ( said to be) the love of her life.,but his Desmond were too much so she stepped back( w Pete) and he od’ed. it is said when mac passed ari called his phone over 900x. Just to hear his voicemail( voice)
She loved Pete but this was a crazy time for her emotionally
