I asked you this question. Mr. Robert thank you for posting this video. You are truly appreciated for all the help you have given me since the 4 years of having my Volvo and to the countless Volvo owners out there. I, like those others may not have the funds to pay others to fix these vehicles or the knowledge to diagnose these problems on are own. But your videos have given me the confidence to get it done. I diagnosed my heater core issue and replaced it because of your videos, I’m in the process of PCV system because of your videos and will be attacking my transmission issue when I’m done. All because of you. You have truly been a blessing to me. Thank you for everything.
I looked up a mobile mechanic who specializes in electrical issues. He brought out electrical testing scanner and was not the solenoid, or catalytic convertor. I had a PO743 code. The solenoid was not getting contact, due to a broken brown wire located under the hood under the air filter. Once connected no issue. Amazing one wire would cause the car to drive, after 5 miles would lose all transmission power, with the engine running with my Volvo. Happened twice around the same corner. Recommend start simple in electrical wiring to determine if solenoid.
BTW this is a serious comment: An old friend, I believe he's 96 years old, and a former mechanic once told me if you add half a shot of whiskey to the transmission fluid, it's a sure-fire way to rejuvenate a transmission, which has been causing issues. My friend swears by this method. :>)
P.S. The testing showed one of the solenoids was not getting power, and the brown wire under the hood fixed it..His testing showed it then had power. .Also, I meant torque convertor. Ha! (Not a mechanic)
If the fluid isn't burnt and the trans shifts solid and does not slip. Chances are it is a control side. This means FRED(fucking ridiculous electronic device)is not working or the wiring and solenoid failure. Why waste changing fluid that is not burnt. Sounds like a A-604 soleniod pack issue if it is older frt wheel drive chrsyler!!!
