Nissan unveiled the Nissan Xmotion concept car at the 2018 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
Xmotion is a new concept vehicle that signals the company's future compact SUV direction and Intelligent Mobility technology.
The design is a bridge between traditional and modern Japanese craftsmanship, architecture and technologies showing Nissan's deep Japanese heritage can coexist with modern technology.
The design team talks about the inspiration and features of the new concept car.

I've had nissan my whole life, I love these cars, I have a 2016 midnight maxima now, just want them to compete again and be the strong company it was and bring back fan favorite cars and trucks that the people want.

What's the name of metal-body material ?
They never talk about the actual body material. Its just the color that is inspired by pewter, which is essentially silver color. Everything these days needs to be inspired by something fancy, even if it is not they have to make this up for advertising. This video is full of those 'so called' inspirations. They have it for white and black color also.
For the carbon material they mentioned, they never say where they are using it. From the video it seems like it is only used for bumpers.
Thanks a lot. In my opinion, using a composite for radiator cover it's a waste of money. :)

Front looks good but the back still needs work. Tail lights are too small and too high in my opinion and looks cheap.

it,s not a SUV it,s a crossover. exterrior design is good. but i dont like interrior, wood? enyone seated in that seats? you better do a design of new model of real brutally SUV on a frame, with best off road capabilities in its class, like xterra or patrol

I love it...but wood?.....seriously? Plant based carbon fiber or nothing.
They talk about a lot of things, but say nothing... Sorry, tried to watch it with an open mind, but they will have to be more specific to convince me that there is anything new about this vehicle. seems like just another SUV. They talk about the skin of the vehicle protecting the passengers. We all know that there are steel bars in the doors, and a metal structure that forms the cabin. Why so much "exquisitely sculpted" BS about a car? I guess some highly impressionable people who know nothing about cars, or design will be impressed. I can see the car for myself right there on the stage. It's looks should speak for itself, and the presenter can talk about what it can do. This method is a waste of everyone's time. At least those who's time is valuable...

It doesn’t take much for a designer to come up with a car with the features described and/or shown. We get it, autonomous driving is the future. This is a concept vehicle, it will never see production. I am pretty sure that the people inside the vehicle shouldn’t be constrained to their chairs and the vehicle should be electric. The battery technology of the future can reach up to 1000 miles on one charge. If they added an extra tank to a gasoline vehicle, then they’d get the same results.

Looks awesome from the outside....interior is trash.
Rim over tire wall looks cool but man will that take a beating rubbing up on curbs... Wood looks really cool but I think some more Exotic Hardwood is a better choice however wood can split crack and needs re-polish over time. Please Nissan bring back a RUGGED SUV like the good old XTERRA I always wonder why you just didn't commit more to it. Stop following TRENDS!!! I DONT LIKE JEEP, TOYOTA, GM, LAND ROVERS, FORDS, ETC.. NONE... If you wanna keep loyal fans LISTEN. Revive the Silvia if you only knew how many people want it... Body ON Frame or something similar in construction with modern revolutionary parts... Round steering wheel; whats wrong with it? A steering wheel like this is super uncomfortable.

Nissan you are focusing way to much on "the japanese way" if you want a very successful car you should make a car for the world.
I just have to say Nissan is the biggest disappointment right now!!!! Their cars models suck with technology & horsepower!! The designs of the exterior for maxima, Altima are pretty good but man they completely drop the ball with tech!! They need to stop focusing in such future that is nowhere near and change those dashboards on present cars!! Toyota just out did Nissan badly..so sad
