Have you seen those men from the south? They got curved swords. *CURVED. SWORDS.*
I really like how they made this faction and even included the chariots for the tier 3. You see so little about the Variags culture of Khand that it is great to have some more of it introduced to a befitting faction. I kinda would have wished for the halftroll men from Harad to be included aswell but the update was great nonetheless

Sorry it's so long but there was A LOT to cover but very happy with the way it turned out. Just a few corrections:
1. The tier 2 summon is quite clearly from Rhun but in the video I say Khand.
2. The caravans reduce their own resource production when near other buildings not the other buildings themselves.
There are prob more but these are the ones that irked me most haha.
Also some nice words for the team at the end too :P

actually you forgot to show off heavy armor for harondor units i think xD, instead of red they get purple golden armor
ABSOLUTELY HARAD.
One thing that's clearly evident from this faction is the fact that because there is little that we know about official Haradwaith lore, the AOTR team had a lot more leeway with the unit designs and compositions, and it clearly shows in the end results. Those graphics, details and mechanics are just top-notch while also still grounded enough in canon lore to work.
I'll agree with Ruud in that the faction's main weakness is its lack of good ranged units. The Beastmasters are more of specialists/hero killers than actual ranged fighters who can burst down enemies like the Marchwardens do. The Headhunters and Harondor Archers do their jobs well enough, though it remains to be seen whether they can stand toe to toe with Halifiriens, Ithilien Rangers and Dunedain in the late game. Then again, the fact that Harad just has so many melee-centric units to close the gap and press an attack kinda offsets this weakness. Using Cultists can work, though the added micro makes it tricky.
The oasis as a tier 3 power makes sense to me, mostly because that makes Harad the only Evil faction in the game that has access to a well (and a summonable one, at that). It might be a tad superfluous in team games where a Good faction ally can just build a Well for you, but it's solid in 1v1s. Plus, the active heal/buff you get from the oasis makes it kinda worth it, especially since you can deploy it and use the buff before an attack into the enemy base. Saves you the time of going back to your base to heal too, considering that Harad's main strategy is establishing map control with your deployed and summoned structures so your units can press forward steadily.
Caran-Lambar is an absolute unit, and hands down my favorite hero in the faction (which is saying something since all of the heroes were really good). He's practically a front-line nightmare, scattering enemy ranks and surviving punishment. Plus, he's loud as fuck and it adds to the hype when he's just throwing enemies around.
Other minor stuff I liked:
-The fact that the Corsairs' idle animation is them cheering as two fighters start sparring
-The Nafarati Marauders using macuahuitl (a wicked-looking Aztec war club) for weapons
-Zigûr coincidentally looking similar to Dagoth Ur from TES (his design is based off of fanart instead of Dagoth Ur himself)
P.S. The icon for the Curse of the Wind Demon power is from the first Mummy movie, not the sequel (where instead of a sandstorm with Imhotep's face on it, it's a tidal wave)
Harad was worth the wait, the amount of detail in them absolutely amazing.

God this is incredible. The amount of work that has gone into this mod is beyond insane. Love it.
The amount of Pirates of the Caribbean and Kingdom of Heaven references is awesome.

Tier 1 spell for Lone Tower already makes it best faction
ugggh they did such a good job it hurts, like holy shit this is soooo amazing, job well done x1,000,000!!! Fk do I love playing this game, easily one of the best strategy games out there, AGED LIKE A FINE WINE. It's incredible, how good games can be when there is true passion behind the work, true passion and love for it in the designers and developers. This Age of the Ring mod should be nominated for an award!!

the only thing i might change, is the gift of sauron, instead of being the same buff every time, give each hero their own version of the buff, might be too much work but that's literally the only hting i would change lol.

If they decided to add Eastern faction in game earlier, i think they would like to put Khamul in there as the faction leader instead of dol guldur. And it would be nice to see that.

Only problem is that Khamûl is called the Black Easterling. So if anything, he'd be the leader of Rhûn, rather than Harad
@@steel58836 oh yea, thats true. seperate other easterling units from mordor faction is so hard and complicated. But first time when i watched the video, if one of the nazguls should rule it, i thought khamul instantly.
They made adventure rhun where Khamul is a hero for Rhun
That doesn't make sense for the era the game takes place in though. He is a wraith now, he was a king in the East when he was human.
The best part is the replay-ability. The evil units are so much fun to use, and doing a good units only run is challenging and immersive. What a faction, 12/10

is it just me or AI in 8.0 will recruit more spears if player keeps using cav?
Don't know if you manage to see it but mumak are like pikes against cavalery. They trample of course but if cavalry rush through the mumak leg they got destroyed xd. So harad get a other pikes option. And a last option is using nafarati marauder like they can knock back the cav and the fact that they are immune to trample make them really good counter for cav.
What about Campaign? They won't finish it? In patch notes I saw just updates and fixes for existing campaign missions

I'm a bit disappointed that Rhun is not its own faction in the Skirmish mode. I wonder if they are well represented in the Mordor faction.
there is a Rhûn faction in the map Adventure: Rhûn. there’s also an adventure map generator so you can play Rhûn in any map.

I think some of the Harad tales in aotr are from certain tabletop game, not exactly canon

How the heck do you get xp for the caravans? For army upgrades, does it just have to sit in a remote place and accumulate exp like farms?
I had the exact same question and yes, you answered your question alrdy. remote place. therefore the mobility is on-the-point usefull.
Age of Empires would chain with the new release of Diablo IV and this to make a career plan in content.
