This should be a fixed segment on the Daily Show. Marques coming in enthusiastically with a new product and then it ending up with Hasan smashing the technology every single time.

“Printers are doomed” is the most accurate statement about technology
For the 30 years I've been in tech, they've been talking about the paperless office, and as far as I can tell we're really no closer to it. In my day job, we develop/support a product that has to automatically print lab orders, labels, and results to different printers, automatically (in batches) from a browser. It's horrible.

Hasan would be an amazing host! He ticks off every box of what needs to be a Daily show host. He can be serious and funny within a blink. He can bring inside and outside perspective but also be relatable either way. His anger is genuinely angry and makes us feel the same way. His eyes and very expressive too, which is important to captivate attention.
Just hire him permanently!

The reason I ask for more is each of these moments. Switching apps, setting up a printer, a ping from Slack built tension in our lives.
Tension that all of us do not release, what do we do? Go out to eat? (flowed like in your example) Watch Roku? ...

All of these tools are CREATING and not REDUCTION the friction like we once expected them to.
This remote segment reminds me of Old School Daily Show. I missed those segments. I would love to see them come back. Hasan Minhaj is becoming my favorite guest host and I don't want his guest week to end.

Hassan Minhaj for PERMANENT host. He is brilliant with his skits and he has great timing as well as deconstructing crazy ideas that finally make sense.

I really feel this. Growing up, I was obsessed by tech and what it could do. Now, I find myself surrounded by tech that just frustrates me to no end. Like, do I really need Wi-Fi just to set a timer?

Hasan Minaj is really pulling it all out all the stops and I love this segment where we blend modern social media and traditional television. I really hope he stays as this is so fresh and really look forward to the future of the show if this continues

This is a really cool blend of new and old media! I’d love to see more influencers try to explain things to traditional figures without either side being talked down to. Marques and Hasan do it well

It seems like such a safe choice to pick Hasan for permanent host, and I don't know if it's the right. But unless they want to permanently change what the show is then he is absolutely the right choice. He has such a confidence and swagger to this and he clearly is going in without any nerves.
He needs his own format.
to call him the "safe choice" seems to diminish his unique yet broad appeal. i never watched a full episode the whole time trevor noah was on. something about his delivery was too dry and serious. but i consistently watched _patriot act_ and was sad to see it discontinued. the topical subject matter aside, hasan is just very entertaining on his own
Hasan is the best and clear choice. He's amazing and brings it. He's the first host that REALLY feels right. But I said that from the second Trevor announced his retirement.
I think he and Ronnie should share.
Why would that "permanently' change the show? Nothing in life is permanent, because of entropy and that change is the only constant. I reckon Hasan has got this, take it to the next level

My smart lights, smart heater and smart air purifier are 9.5/10. I have 8 lights in my room all voice commanded.
I've been waiting 30 years for "things to work" lol. So few companies seem to understand this, insteand thinking I want a new bell or whistle.

The Patriot Act should have never been cancelled
I always wondered what will be the thing I get grumpy about as I get older, that maybe I become a bit old fashioned on, and I've found the answer.. While I love sci-fi and I want technological progress, I find modern tech to be infuriating. All these logins, passwords, printers not working, a dozens of accounts, wifi connectivity, printers not working, "self driving" for cars(a complete joke), QR codes for restaurant menus, ect, it's all very frustrating and I don't like it. The technology of the future imagined by sci-fi writers and futurists requires little handling and allows us to live our lives without thinking about technology. The only device to be released that achieves this the last few years, a device I sincerely love for making my life easier, is my roomba, which we affectionately refer to as "Roomba-San".
Yep, I feel the same way as Hasan. I'm tired of apps for everything. Tech should not make things harder. As a techy guy I think this frustrates me even more because I know how to set up a printer or 3 tricks to pair a bluetooth device that won't pair, so when something is made harder like ordering food from a menu or showing my insurance card at the doctor I am even more upset. Don't make easy things hard.

Trevor just was like an Ambian when you need the caffine of Jon. Hasan has the energy and passion needed to fill that gap, and the funny to match it.
It really did feel like Trevor was emotionally detached from everything happening due to him trying to be cool or whatever. And that was just not funny.
He is overly trying to hard for a laugh. Rather not watch long term

This whole resteraunt thing Hasan Minhaj was talking about is like having to use wireless headphones instead of wired headphones with your phone. Like, you have to charge the headphones, and sometimes they fail to connect, and then they run out of batteries, and then you forget them, in which case you have to borrow a friend's bluetooth headsets, and spend 10 minutes trying to connect it to your phone. Like, you just made plugging a headset into your phone "6 steps harder."
As a senior I have TA..technology anxiety. Although I am better at all this than most people my age. It would be hilarious to have a senior person trying to test products. I did learn how to store the dozens of passwords not using another app. Buy an address book.
That’s the most foolproof way to store passwords!! I’m all in for simplifying tech for seniors seeing how much it benefits my parents and also with English not being their 1st language

This is exactly why my parents always need me to help them with anything new. Everything wants you to download some free app now, or has a subscription.
Not even joking, their air purifier can link up to the wifi. Their cameras are linked through an app, they had a roomba for a while until it wasn't working.
All of those things I've had to install an app and make an account, only to have them not really work anyways. It can be frustrating.
I've even seen barbecue grills with wifi access now.
I replaced my smoke detector recently, and it wanted me to download an app and connect to it. A solution in search of a problem. F off, Kidde, you're not weaseling my phone number or anything else out of me under the guise of a "smart" smoke detector.

I am so with you, on this. I have a printer in my bedroom, buried under blankets and clothing that has never worked. I could never get it to stay synched. I did not return it, because I thought I needed it, and could get it to work. I never did get it to work, and I have not needed it.
