No modern deathcore has beaten prime Despised Icon, All Shall Perish, The Red Chord, Ion Dissonance. Maybe a couple but the original is still the best.

@@johnloza6697 I prefer Despised Icon over any other active deathcore band. I used to love deathcore but I couldn't listen to the stuff I listened to 8 years ago. Despised Icon have a mature sound and good song structures, two aspects most deathcore bands are lacking these days. Love this raw sound and instrument skill. They keep it real.

Despised Icon are one of the few bands that uses 6 string guitars and still sounds brutal!!!
They tune all the way down to B standard, so I don't know why they don't just use 7-strings, that E string has got to be floppy as hell.

This is what I loved about despised icon....give Steve a rest on his voice!!! And this is the excellence you will receive....I loved "day of mourning" but he couldn't hit those squeals like he could...like fine wine let it rest...it will be that much greater in the end...this album will be 🔥🔥🔥
he's always been able to, the difference is that when Steve "squeals" he's inhaling instead of exhaling. I can't find one single video on the internet of him inhaling live. He only does it in the studio.

Agreed. Nothing beats the o.g. of deathcore (ASP, Red chord, ion d, etc). They would use pig squeels well & were far more technical riffs than they got credit for.
