Why why why why does Hollywood have to take these classic 80's shows that might have had a touch of humor that actually made sense during the show and turn them into stupid, moronic slapstick, gross-out comedies? WHO has been asking for this?

I hate when they take such a comical approach to an action movie that could be potentially great as a serious action movie. Yes, you can and sometimes should have a bit of comedy in a movie like this but all the great serious action movies use it to compliment the action, and the comedy is usually more intelligent instead of stupid dick jokes every 20 seconds. This feels like the same approach to 21 Jump Street. Look, I know it has an intended audience of millennials who they think like cheap humor and I know it might be a little too presumptuous to judge the entire movie because this is only a trailer. Still, a movie with this much stupid humor suggests the studio is trying way too hard to get people to like it because they know it's cringeworthy. Chips would be better if it had sort a Lethal Weapon or Die Hard vibe (for lack of a better reference) in that it would have comedy... smart comedy, but a legitimate sense of danger and a serious intimidating villain. I could be completely misjudging this movie. I hope I'm proven wrong. We'll see.
Wow the original chips was a classic. From the cool intro, to the fun story line. All done with the officers never drawing their guns. Zero violence. This chips movie looks like pure garbage. An embarrassment. It's almost like Hollywood has become the movie Idiocracy
