You should invite your brother in law again and watch "All I Want Is You/Where The Streets Have No Name" Live at Slane Castle. Thank me later.
This. It's my absolute favorite. I believe Bono's father died just days before (at the very least on his deathbed). That song(s) and Kite from that concert make me so emotional.
My favorite version of this song with the extended portion at the end, right there with you!
Hands down the best rendition of that song. Ever.
Partial to zoo tv live in Sydney. Totally changed the vibe.
I do like the third verse in this version.
That shot just then Edge and Larry just going for it…. Unbelievable 🔥
It would be a crime against humanity for you not to react to "Bad" from this concert film Rattle and Hum now. I get a musical high watching it every time!
This!
BTW, that wasn't falsetto; he's just got enough range to step up an octave. Later on, when he does that "oooo" stuff THAT'S falsetto. Also, I like the back and forth between you two better when it's not on top of the song itself!
It's his channel, his rules. However, I don't like it either when people talk over the video. I prefer they pause multiple times during the reaction!
I agree - I missed about half of the BIL’s comments 😢
Yes!!! you talk TOO much. Shut up during the song
I was there! It was a fantastic concert in Tempe, the last night filming
I was a huge U2 fan and I saw them in concert in the 80’s and 90’s. Bono was amazing, his stage presence is right up there with Freddie Mercury.
at the end , he sings a "snippet" from Love will tear us apart by Joy Division
Running to Stand Still is an even more emotional slow song
You need to react to Live, At Red Rocks, "Pride". One of their best live songs ever.
So glad you're covering U2. There is nothing like U2 live. I was at Sun Devil Stadium when they filmed this - the Live at Slane shows (in Ireland) are pretty incredible too.
I was there too
This is my favourite version of this song ❤
That drummer is fast and machine like.
You should see the ZooTV Sydney late part with McPhisto singing. So beautiful. Great concert in general.
The song had its genesis when he went on tour for The Unforgettable Fire Album and for the first time felt the pain of being separated from his wife.
Best Band ever!
For me this is also one of the best versions, especially vocally and musically with this unique atmosphere. In the 2000s the song was towards the end of the concert. Either Bono and the band “ran out of steam” or there was no desire, then the song dragged on so that no magic was created. To be fair, the initial versions of The Sphere are of good quality; In the end I didn't watch all of the concerts; U2 starts again on December 12th.
Tip: Gone is U2's grunge song (best song on the very, very average Pop album) based on Pearl Jam - a tribute - who were the opening act at the ZOO TV concerts.
Was at this show in Tempe, AZ. Tickets GA tickets were $5. Unbelievable!
One thing I think was cool about U2 is that I don’t know about now but when they had kids growing up they made a deal with the people of their village to let them be normal people like go to school functions or go to pubs and in return they would do free concerts every so often.
Love you guys doing U2 reactions. I’m torn on this one. Definitely not their best live version of the song. The pace is like 1.5X of the song. But as a fan for almost 38 years and seeing them 13 times, every fan longs to hear the Shines like Stars ending.
Even now at 63 years old, he still hits the falsetto at the end as well as this version.
The Boston version is pretty epic.
I love that you are doing live versions of songs. I would recommend any song from Sydney 93. Love is Blindness, Lemon, Stay, Bullet The Blue Sky, Dirty Day, Running to Stand Still, The Fly, Mysterious Ways, and the epic Until the End of the World.
Kanye opened a few shows on the Vertigo tour in 2005.
Yeah the RUclips upload they watched here was ripped from a Region 2 PAL DVD, so it’s sped up and increased in pitch by 4%.
This upload link below is NTSC Region 1, with the standard speed and pitch:

NEW subscriber! I'm a long time U2 fan and saw them in Vegas at the Sphere in October. I love these videos and listening to your comments. On another note, I am a brand new T Swift fan as well (I'm 50 years old). My kids took me to the Eras showing at the theaters 1/1/24, and I was instantly hooked. I also just watched your Elvis video and loved that one also! I subscribed to your wife's YT page as well.
Rattle and Hum is my favorite album. You should listen to I still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For the Rattle and Hum Version with the Choir.
That song was from The Joshua Tree. The best song on Rattle and Hum was “Angel of Harlem”, which is fabulous.
This song is still giving people chills at the Sphere....plus Bono brought back the vest "smoldering Bono" LOL. Interesting commentary about the music scene heading into the early 90s. They went pop electronic with Auchtung Baby and One when grunge hit big.
I would say Achtung Baby went Industrial, Zooropa went electronic, and POP went trip hop/electronic with a large dose of dark beautiful rock thrown in.
@@nianfiedler5291 well said. I kind of enjoy the rockier song that U2 does. Bullet, Mofo, Exit etc.
Love U2, seen them 3 times and they are by far my favorite band of all time!!
One by U2 is amazing
The Fly!!!
So many performances of this have been filmed. My favourite was filmed in Milan on the Vertigo tour.
Towards the end of the song Bono takes off his jacket and puts on a t-shirt with the London Underground emblem on the front. He doesn't say anything about it. The significance is obvious.
It's a tribute to the people killed and injured in the terrorist attack on the Underground and buses earlier in that month.
A powerful and moving tribute.
About the song context, Bono explained on his Stories of Surrender tour that he wrote it from his wife perspective...
When they were newly wed he was often gone touring and his wife was alone often.
I am a U2 fan and Home Free fan! Home Free/Peter Hollens does an amazing cover of U2 "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"!
His wife's name is Ali and they have been married since 1987.
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For from Rattle and Hum with the choir is phenomenal.
Thank you for reacting to this version of the song. The added last 'verse' of the song was Bono giving a shout out to Joy Division by singing a snippet of their song "Love Will Tear Us Apart".
I don’t think so. He does do that in the BBC 2015 version, where he sings Love, Love Will Tear us apart again.
@07:30 can't get over how quick the drummer is, rapid fire.
U2 sounds like no other band because of those shimmery guitar chords.
This is the best version of the song 😍!! Thank you for reacting to U2😊. I'm not a huge follower of their music, but this song slaps still
U2 Watch Live at Slane Castle
Pull up the 2017 version at BBC Abbey Road... unbelievably good.
You need to react to With or Without you from the 2009 U2 360 tour from the Rose Bowl. I was there Epic
Why is his look cheesy? His voice is not weak. Or ragged. Kanye West never opened for U2. THe added verse to the song is taken from the song 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' by Joy Division.
Check out the zoo tv sydney version. Completely change the vibe and atmosphere of the song. Can't go wrong with either version, cool to see how it can change, though.
I always enjoy your reaction videos. I waited so long for you to react to Oliver Anthony because I needed to hear your views. Now a 12 year old girl wrecks Coatia super talent. The emotions inflicted and her courage of the young girl is a bit overwhelming. This will be over the web in days. I will be waiting for your views on what you will hear. Purely VOCAL from Chriztel Renae Aceveda on Crotia Super Talent. Your viewers deserve this one.

So yes listen to the other guy
Hi buddy, came across your video by accident, but absolutely love it! I would love your audience to come up with a suggestion from AC/DC Live at the River Plate concert. Angus Young and Brian Johnson turn over 150-200 THOUSAND!! Audience into a sea of appreciation and delight…. Let your guys, if they agree to choose their favourite🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧
River Platte holds 84,000 max capacity
This is the reason behind the song. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/With_or_Without_You
less talk...more listen.....
Daniel 12:3 says, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”
This was U2 at their best. Up to and including Achtung Baby, after that I don't listen to much of their music.
You are not reacting to any Taylor songs for a while. Where are they?
I think it was written by Edge about his marriage breaking up.
His marriage was breaking ground up in 90 91, One and Love is Blindness has more references to that.
That happened about 3-5 years after this song came out
Why is it fast dats a slow song.?
Way too much talking, listening is required for a worthwhile reaction and I think you lack curiosity to actually listen,
Lessening 2 dat allllllll wrong
As an Irish person dat was shit ...d fkin wrong version altogether
Bono quotes alot from the bible more earlier than later. I can’t listen to anything after the 90’s. They got too into politics (mainly Bono)
😂 U2 have always been political. Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Years Day, Bullet the Blue Sky, Mothers of the Disappeared, Red Hill Mining Town, Seconds, Staring at the Sun, Please, were all pre 2000’s.
They have been overtly political since at least 1983. Without that they aren't U2
I can't bear listening to U2 after about 2005. Bono has become the very worst of washed up Las Vegas lounge acts. He can't sing. He just shouts stuff. People keep buying it up, though, so I don't blame him for raking in the dough. But it's awful. No thanks. Late 80's was his zenith. It's been downhill since.
Most overrated band of all time.
The song one comes from the 3rd verse in 1991
