For those who really want this and don’t own a mustang this should work on basically any model of car. Just make sure that when you unlock the doors the interior lights come on, if so it’ll work. Basically do everything he did until the wiring stage. Instead, wire the positive and negative to an interior light such as the dome light but of you’ve got a light on your door already, use that since its on the same panel. If not you will have to route the wire through the grommet, up through the A pillar then into the headliner. Once you’ve don’t that tap into the positive and negative of the light. You’ll need some more wire if you’re doing on a non mustang model and some understanding of electrics but if you’ve got a relatively good electrical mindset it should be pretty easy to do. About to do it on my Mazda 3 hatchback. I just bought some eagle eye led bolt lights {basically the exact same thing he uses in the video but it cost me $8 Australian for two which is probably like $5 USD}. Ill have to wire it to my dome light as I haven’t got a door light but it’s still relatively easy, just a bit more time consuming.
Hey 7homas Owen, thanks for the insight and feedback. We have another kit that is geared toward the 2005-2012 Mustangs that are not pre-wired at the mirror like this version - the setup we offer is almost exactly as you describe. It may be helpful for anyone looking to do this on a non-Mustang. You can find it on our website here: www.starkey-products.com/mustang-led-puddle-lamp-kit-2005-2012 And RUclips Video here: ruclips.net/video/_bJDxYOHUsw/видео.html We use a proprietary LED lamp that is superior to the eagle eye bolt lights - ours run much cooler and are fully waterproof.
At 1:18 that's a crescent wrench not a socket and that's electrical tape not painter's tape, but we got the gist of it and that's what's important. Thanks for this video. It showed me what was important on another custom installation.
Could the lights be installed farther outboard? They seem to shine on the car too much and not enough on the ground. The wires might be a little too short, but other than wire length, will the mirror mechanism interfere with the light if it's about 4" farther from the car? Thank you,
Rich Devens Yes sir it is possible to move them further out. You'll just need to be a bit more precise about so you don't interfere with the mirror motor. We chose this location because it was the factory location and there was no chance that a customer would clip the motor. The wiring will be long enough as well! Thanks.
I like the video....however, the passenger side has 2 black wires wirh yellow stripes and the driver's side has a solid black wire and a solid purple. Luckily, i connected the correct wire on the passenger side and my puddle lamps work, however, nothing on the driver's side.
Yes, the black wire with a yellow tracer is mentioned in the instruction manual and is completely normal. I would make sure you are tapped into the proper pin locations on the driver side connector - see instruction manual for proper pin # locations. If that looks good, I would closely inspect the wiring to make sure it wasn't pinched during mirror re-installation. It is rare but can happen.
What electrical components do these puddle lights work with? Like, do they come on when you unlock the doors? Do they stay on? Or will they shut off when the car is started?
The puddle lamps will come on/off automatically when you unlock/lock the doors. They will also come on when you open the doors. They will not come on when the car is moving. Basically they come on anytime the Map lights in your overhead center console turn on/ off.
Jarrett Franklin This particular kit won't work on the 05-2012 models, but we have a product that will! You can read more about it here: www.starkey-products.com/mustang-led-puddle-lamp-kit-2005-2012
Hi, Currently it would not work on a 2012 without extensive modification. We are, however, exploring the possibility of an 2005-2012 kit very similar to this. Stay tuned!
Jim - I apologize for the trouble you are having. Check the things mentioned in the email I sent you and we can troubleshoot further if necessary. Thank you.

Just ordered mine! Hopefully get to install them this week
Will there eventually be one for the base 2015-present mustangs?
I have a 2014 mustang basic what colors of wires do I connect to on passenger side and on driver side

Any for the base 2015 and up??
Do you know if this can be installed on a 2012 Fusion Sport?
It has not been tested on that vehicle, so you may have to modify it to work properly.
Thanks!
is the drivers side the same way or is it a little different because of the mirror controls on that side?
Hi - it is exactly the same, the wire colors are just a bit different. Thanks!
@@StarkeyProducts and the wire colors are..............?
what are those connectors called that go from the wire tap to the red and black wires?
Spade connectors.
do you guys have it for 2015 mustang?
its 11mm for the nuts btw

how much does it cost
Will this work on a 2010 mustang?

I just watched this entire video and I own a Camaro. Why am I so bored? 😂😭
Use a 11mm socket proceeds to use Mexican speed wrench
"Using an 11 mm socket" uses a fucking adjustable wrench lmao
How can I get the pony emblem that comes on the comfort package I believe??
Check out the WISH app.
