  • A wide angle view of the total lunar eclipse of May 15-16, 2022. Exposures were made every 30 seconds and are displayed at a rate of one exposure every two frames of video. The exposures were unchanged during the duration of the eclipse. It's amazing how dark it gets during totality - as long as the neighbor's security light doesn't come on!

      It really is. Most of the day was cloudy and there were thunderstorms not too far away during the night. The sky would light up every few minutes with one of the distant lightning flashes. The clouds make the time-lapse more interesting, I think.

      No. A low flying airplane with its landing lights on. If you manage to pause it on the right frame, you'll see the plane's navigation lights flanking the main beam.
