It’s really shows how Elaine has changed in character. Here she’s a total suck up to Leslie where later she has her annoying friends over who she doesn’t even like.
Kramer has friends. Elaine has friends. Jerry has friends. Does George have his own friends outside the group?
He has a once-mentioned, never seen friend "Adam" whose head is like a cube. That's the only one I recall. I think that's the one where he tries out the wedding band experiment.

Men don't normally attend. All I know is there are women there and gifts exchanged. Most men without kids don't know much more than that.
