This was a better, even matchup than the bullshit Canelo/Cotto fight. Cotto was no match for Alvarez. He hit harder and ate every punch Cotto gave him. I lost money that night thinking bc he had Freddie Roach as a trainer and was conditioned he would win. Time is a bitch old Cotto almost ko'd Floyd and would have beaten Canelo imo

A very close fight IMO. Lots of hard rounds to score. I thought Trinidad just edged it down the stretch. He connected the heavier, more damaging blows and Oscar lost steam down the stretch.

Idk why I'm here after I literally just watched the fight in it's entirity. It actually looks like Trinidad did something here, because when I watched the whole thing, 90 percent of the fight was him not doing jack but being a punching bag for De la Hoya.

I remember watching an interview on Puerto Rican television the weeks after the fight were Tito admitted at one point in the fight Oscar stunned him and although he didn't feel badly hurt or anything he felt dizzy and light headed. I think this was the point in the fight he was referencing.
I am a Tito fan. This fight was easy to score after Oscar started running. Oscar was winning, but he gave in to the "Mayweather" type fight. And in those days that did not exist. The aggressor often gets the decisions. I saw Tito win, but just barely. This was as close to a draw as any fight can get. They SHOULD have fought again.

This is a 12 round - 36 minutes CHAMPIONSHIP FULL FIGHT SHOW. Oscar spent too much time going backwards on purpose avoiding the confrontation. That is a very miserable boxing showmanship. Therefore, Oscar deserves to lose. Period. End of Story.
You can't win a fight by literally running away; Tito was the aggressor and scored the cleaner/harder punches against a scared De la Hoya. Rounds 1,2,3,4,9,10,11,12 Tito. Rounds 5,6,7,8, DLH. Tito won 8-4
I had it a little closer but I think Tito won. Oscar ran too much and got very tired down the stretch.
