In this video I show you how to play the riffs, themes, and the first solo (which features Gary Moore interpreting "Danny Boy") in the song "Róisín Dubh (Black Rose): A Rock Legend." This song features some traditional melodies arranged by Moore and Phil Lynott.
Although Gary Moore was in and out of Thin Lizzy a few times, Black Rose: A Rock Legend released in 1979 is the only album he recorded with the band.
To learn the fast reel section and the rest of the song, see Part 2:

The tuning is lower than Eb. I use the E and the D played in the verse to get in tune.

Very cool! Thin Lizzy was always awesome. Gary Moore was a big highlight. He needs way more recognition then he has gotten over the years!
I've always been a fan of Phil Lynott and there's a whole slew of great guitarists that played in Thin Lizzy, but Gary was definitely a one in a million talent.
@@JimbosGuitarPlanet His Back On The Streets solo with Thin Lizzy live was nuts! He could down right shred when he wanted.
I just watched an Old Grey Whistle Test performance of that. He's ripping. You can hear things that influenced players that came later.
So cool🎉🎉🎉🎉 Keep Rockin'🎸🎸🎸🎸
This one might be a bit of a challenge, but the demo for fools intro by Van Halen?
I never heard that before. The solo is great.
