Such a huge and beautiful place. I should add it to my list to check it out when I go back to Wales

Stayed at the hotel. Lovely place, excellent food too. I came back to Trehavod for a look see after a few years. I was born not more than three hundred yards from Lewis Merthyr. Memories.

Love what they've done with the place! Amazing about the renovation of the area. Nice editing mix with live and photos, you and not you!

Yes, it has changed a lot for the coal mining days, a bit of sun does help when filming too.

It is very now a very pretty area although it has taken a long time for the area to recover after the mines closed.

Wow - this area's really changed since I lived not too far away. That was more than twenty five years ago, mind you! The hotel looks lovely.

It has changed, the other guests were German hikers, who were on a walking trip. not many tourists would have visited in the past.

Looks like a great place to stay in Rhondda. The room looks very spacious and it is great that you can watch your channel on TV :)

Those hotels are the most beautiful ones, the one with a lot of history

Although it a new building, it's on the site of the old mine works. Most people that work in the area have strong links to the mines, either they used to work there or their parents did.

Looks a little more luxurious than back in the mining days. Can't wait to explore some more of Wales in a couple of weeks. We are heading to Talley :-)

Yes, the area has changed a bit, seems to be improving recently. Hope the good weather continues to when you visit Carmarthenshire.

Nice! Is this near the Blaenavon Big Pit area? We enjoyed that last year - more industrial heritage. Great to see the old buildings repurposed rather that just being demolished!

The Rhondda Heritage Park museum next door is a very similar idea but Big Pit is in a different valley.

Wondering if there is a heritage angle to this property. Rooms look very comfy.

The hotel is quite a new building, it was built on the site of the old pit head baths and all the pictures on the wall are of the miners who worked next door in the coal mine.
