I think that wouldn’t be possible since the Philippines has close relations with the US and since the S400 is made by Russia which is an enemy the US I think Putin will not allow the Philippines to buy any of their Russian made military vehichles.
Considering the terrain that the country has, it's not so practical to get such large numbers of heavy tanks for it will only get stuck in the mud during rainy days due to its weight but instead aim for the soon to be decommissioned A10 warthog. It's a great tank buster beside it'll be a great deterrent to our long time internal threats like the NPA and various Moro rebels. 😊
Better get tucanos for that. Considering the amount of logistics to get the warthog going. Tucanos are cheaper and easier to maintain. Better if we make our own version tbh
@@Knight25B You are right it's a good COIN aircraft but Super Tucano's survivality rate when hit by enemy anti aircraft weapons and guns is so little and also it's armor busting capability is not as effecient as that of the A10. Often times any military organization who wants to achieve certain capabilities has to inevitably pay more.

And that is true about giving us more capabilities but if thats what matters then we are better to have tucanos then maybe invest into drones and better radars and multirole fighters as they are more capable and efficient though the warthog is good. Considering again the logistics its better we use our multirole fighters and the tucanos and helicopters and drones rather than the hog
There's no question about Tucanos, and those logistical matters what I'm pointing out here is instead of investing heavily on MBTs which will likely cost us so much the same, why not invest on the A10 instead? It's second hand Bro. and they'll release it to us almost free instead of grounding it uselessly to its graveyard they'll rather sell it to their trusted ally like the Philippines. And for most significant reason, U.S. is eager to protect their very interest in South China Sea for their own geographic advantage both militarily and economically. They've invested much on A10 why not sell it cheap instead and get back at least a fourth or less of their investments in each unit of A10 and hopefully the Philippines can afford for its own self defense.
@@516GCT thing is we badly need as many armor as we can at the moment as in the end. It's the painful lesson we learned in Marawi. They maybe old and most likely obsolete but armored firepower is legitimately needed especially in urban environment and open fields. There are things A10 cant hit that the boots on the ground can see and hit with half of the gas and maintenance requirements that the A10 can give which the tank provides. Plus i honestly also think this is a stop gap measure just to get our armored companies up and running with maintenance and experience as we take more (if not just build it here) of our own sabrahs and modern afv's and that SHOULD be priority right next to air and sea and missile defense capabilities.
There's no such thing as a medium main battle tank. Although the Type 74 is around 40+ tons, it's just called a Main Battle Tank just like the Leopard 1 and the T-72 of which are all under 50 tons.
Before main battle tank was invented there were called medium tank as what you've mentioned leopard of Germany and t72 of Russian and also Patton, before main battle tank there are light tank, medium tank heavy tank and tank destroyer now there are only two categories of tank that exist these are mbt and artillery

Then when PH military learns how to best use it and what it needs, then they can invest in R&D how to develop domestically, and that takes alot of time and money. It is way more expensive to start from scratch than to buy that is already made by someone expert on making one. Let alone that is simply going to be donation that will far cheaper.
