I Always Thought that was a DEUTZ F8L413 Air Cooled Diesel Engine which all the Iveco Maggie DEUTZ Trucks used to have back in the Old Magirus DEUTZ Days
It's also not my engine, it's from the same owners as the other v8. They are going to use it for parts for the truck engine. I don't know what it was used for.
Cool engine. Just hope you never have to get the cylinders off. I still have scars on my knuckles from working on a couple of these, switching parts, back in '96. Fucking cooling fins in the way of bolts! :D The week after, I had to work on a couple of Scania engines. What a difference! Every bolt was where you could get at it with any socket wrench. Nothing in the way, no fidgeting or extentions halfway in the socket on an angle or anything. Basically built for mechanics. But the Magirus V8 is cool! I know! :)
I have seen a lot of v8 engines..but for me the best are always gonna be Magirus Deutz 👏👏🇩🇪
Worked for the UK distributor for Magirus Deutz trucks in the 70's and 80's
Allinson used em to go out of Derbyshire quarry and used to see em as a lad going through my old home town Marple stockport

All the air-cooled deutz engines are basically the same. All old deutz engines will run forever.
