It's unfortunate many of those trails are gate closed during the later half of the year. I would rather camp in the colder weather than deal with the insane amount of bugs in the UP during the summer.
I dont think you paid attention. They were closed in the early part of the year when it starts to thaw. You can head out there in november or december without issue but the bugs are still out there in november.

@@GearUpAndGo23 it’s slept on as a state. I guess that good, because it’s rarely crowded! So many cool places!
@@Upnorth_overland Definitely need to check it out myself. Also, really refreshing not seeing a toyota rig lol
I like being unique!
Very cool and a beautiful area! Going to have to make my way up from Missouri for this one!
It’s definitely worth the drive! You could even go once it gets too hot down south.
@@Upnorth_overland with a heat index of 120 today, it's already too hot down here lol
@@cowboy63645 high of 66 in copper harbor today, and 70s for the week!
Where there's a will, there's a way.....esp U.P. here!
What month is this video taken with all the bugs?
This was around Memorial Day.
If you get a chance check out KOAR in September you can jump in to some trail rides and a ton of the Keweenaw you probably have not seen before
I’ll keep that in mind!
I’m there for KOAR every year Cindy does a great job

I agree with that! I get that they want to protect the trails, but kinda sucks that you can’t use them for that long!

Glad to see everyone is following the state rule of no camping within 200 feet of water😢
Where’s you find that rule? I only see that for forest services land in the state
That's untrue troll
