I watched the Toronto production and it was a spectacular show. I haven't read the novel but I would imagine the music will add a lot to this for you.

@@angeliquebotha123 it’s sort of annoying because Ben Platt looks older than he is. He looks about 30 (he’s really 27) so I think they should have given the role to an actor in the range of 16-22 to play the role, preferably someone who’s never been in a movie before
Worst part is they HAD a 16 year old playing Evan on Broadway last year. If they wanted to cast someone with Broadway training they could've gone with him. Ben Patt just looks weird with all that makeup and the hair.

I saw this musical on broadway and even before that had listened to the album a hundred times. Never before has a musical meant to much to me. It really does an amazing job of explaining mental illness and making you feel like you are not alone.

I remember when i'm in highschool, i was sitting alone when everybody have classmate for 3 years, no body want to seat next to me, my parents got divorce when i just 15, my father left us, my mother have to work outside town and bring all of my siblings with her, and i must stay and live with my other family which we never be closed before, and basicly being their maid in their house, wake up at 5:30 am, and sleep at 11:30, everyday, in Sunday, i do general cleaning in their house by my self, but i can not say that they are evil, they paid all of my need. I remember i try to make friend at school but i never felt really fit with anyone or group, and i remember i used to cry when no body see me, it so lonely. sad Times..

I found this song by coincidence last year and it helped me through a time I didn't want to live anymore. I listened to it multiple times a day and it was one of the only things that gave me hope, something that reminded me that maybe just maybe there is more to this life than just the pain I'm feeling.
I just know this movie is gonna change a few lifes & I love that. And to anyone reading this, I hope you'll find your hope again, it's definitely worth staying💕

I never got a chance to see this on stage (I had tix in London but then the world shut down), but I've listened to the OCR about a million times. It's an *exceptionally* well-written show from every angle, and I'm so happy that the world (and me) will be able to see it performed as well. But even so- just listening to it is quite an emotional roller-coaster.

Platt was the original actor from the Broadway show. There really is no one else that can do this role like he can.

To be honest, when they announced that Ben would be Evan, I thought that he would be too old to play him. But it's perfect.
