    I replaced the valve cover and PCV today. Each coil clip snapped off and the harness on the drivers side made a snapping noise. Placing a bit of RTV at various points made getting the new gasket to stay put much easier. The hose wiring bundle on the passenger’s side was a pain until I undid the 2nd clip on the alternator. 95,000 miles on the 2006 Camty. It was Moms car. My 2005 Scion Xa has 306,000 miles on it…all mine.
    Thanks for the video.

    Good Video. Wish you could have shown better where the RTV was located (how much area needed some at reassembly) and how long to allow RTV to cure.

    • @johnbouldin9033
      @johnbouldin9033 4 месяца назад +1

      I added a small drop of RTV in the groove of the cover about every 5 inches and on opposite sides of the spark plug loops. Then I let it sit for 5 minutes to make sure it stayed put. The black Permatex maximum oil was what I used. Thick and sticky.

    The coil wire harness! (That little black box, mine wrapped in duct tape)
    Is it safe to just bend it out of the way while removing and installing the cover? Disconnecting the battery already put me in idle relearn mode and freaked me out so I wouldn’t want to find out any of wire problems 100 miles later 😅

      Update. Went pretty smooth until I decided to tighten the ground nut on top of the alternator and the end of my ratchet touched the dipstick guide and I popped the 120 Amp fuse. If you've ever changed one of those bad boys you'll know what I mean haha 😂 Anyways, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to make this video it made it easy as you showed pretty much every detail. Thank you again

    I’m having a hard time finding the ignition coil bolts. Does anyone have any idea where I can get them? Old Camry I’m replacing the cover has them broken and stuck in the cover and vehicle misfiring.
    I got mostly all the parts just need those bolts to hold down the ignition coils but can’t find them anywhere

    • @developmentdivision122

      I could be wrong, but I believe it is a 6mmx1.0 thread by 7/8” in length (10mm head) You should be able to find replacements at a local hardware store.
