- In this DIY how-to tutorial video you will learn how to crochet a large shell stitch pattern for a blanket, scarf, shawl, and more!
Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. In this video I'll show you how to crochet a large shell stitch pattern. This is a lovely and stunning stitch pattern that creates an eye-catching design for your work. It is comprised of single crochet and double crochet stitches. I'm repeating rows 2, 3, 4, and 5, for this entire pattern.
I'm using 100% worsted weight acrylic yarn and a size G 4 mm crochet hook for my crochet sample. Feel free to adjust your hook size up or down if it's more comfortable for you.

you can slow the video down
What a strikingly beautiful pattern! Pushed to the top of my baby blanket list. I make a minimum of 2 per month for charity and try to make different and interesting patterns. I love this❣️
God bless you hand made stuff is so special when I had a baby I was given a beanie and it was great ‼️🥰👼
For those not able to follow because it is to fast, I feel the same…BUT, you can watch each step and pause so you can do each individual step. Do this as many times as needed to get the results she is getting. After enough times you will be able to remember the steps better and so on.
I have a very hard time reading patterns ((seizure brain issues)). But the pause & repeat has helped me to learn a LOT. Give it a try and have fun!
@Naztazia thank you for taking the time to teach us. You are very appreciated❤
You can slow the speed. Used to do that when doing aerobics and wants to make sure of the move.
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for the written instructions. ❤️

I love this pattern. Do you have any tutorials for summer tops? This would be a great summer top! Love your tutorials! Your a great teacher.❤
❤
Thanks a lot!
Great pattern. I want to make a skirt how do you transition from row to row?
Do you sell your crochet items?
Im doung the large stirch shell and cant find the pattern ❤love yourvideos
Teşekkür ederim 🙏♥️
I adore this pattern and i want to use it to make a blanket for my baby girl. How many chains should I start with to make a baby blanket?
Do you add a new color before you finish the last stitch of the row or do you add it after you’ve finished the last stitch and before you turn your work?
Boa noite .
Unico canal ensina este ponto lindo.
mas queria voce fizesse o passo a passo de uma toalha mesa colorido ,preciso saber como se inicia ,tenho so a foto da toalha .
se possivel amiga faz o passo a passo .obrigada
Would you be able to do this, using a foundation single crochet (or double) instead of the foundation chain?
That is a beautiful pattern that can be used for many things, including a shawl. Thank you for your instructions, especially since you don't rush through them, unlike some other people do.
Is there any chance you might tackle a virus shawl? I can get to run 8, but I suffer from dyslexia and it seems everyone assumes you can just pick up the instructions by repeating row 8. It's not that easy for me.
Is there a way to finish the blanket with a straight edge? Or does it end with the shell look? Just hoping to add a border
Nice and simple. Is this a yarn eater project? I want to do it but don’t want to have to use a lot of yarn .
Not really, as open shell double crochet stitches like this, especially ones with chain 1 stitches in the middle generally take up less yarn than denser stitches that don't have any holes in the design, like the waffle stitch or even all single crochet stitches.
Donna, another beautiful pattern with excellent instruction! Will definitely be trying this soon. Thank you! 🎉
Wonderful!
Can you do this in the round?
Is it possible to work it in a circle without turning? Or should I the turn my work everytime when starting next row?
I love this pattern but I wish you had put up the pattern by rows on screen as I'm a newbie and I found it a bit hard to follow without that never mind I found the pattern you gave us thank you 😊
Glad you found the pattern!
Could you please share the brand of yarn and actual color names that you used? They're so pretty! Thank you!
👏👏👏👏👏😍👍
Muchas gracias por compartir su arte de crochet y sin molestias porfavor su crochet me gusta cómo puedo adquirir me gustaría en 5 juegos espero su respuesta mil gracias un saludo cordial de Perú
Did you have beginner crochet classes for 10year kid
I have a beginner tutorial online here, which might help: ruclips.net/video/uqQWpTOx22c/видео.html
Please will you name the colors and brand of yarns used in the thumbnail at the beginning of this video. Thanks so much.
They were scrap yarns from my stash, some going back 30+ years. I really don't remember what specific colors I use for stitch sample videos.
@@naztazia so the pretty colors of the big blanket/afghan you don’t know the colors or yarn brand. Not the ones in the tutorial itself.
Is this pattern a yarn eater?
Not any more than most other shell stitches.
I’m visually impaired, trying to follow your videos but they go a little too fast. But really nice work. 😊
Click on link in description box under You can find more information on this pattern at:, scroll down to Crochet Large Shell Stitch Written Instructions than click on Crochet Large Shell Stitch Pattern hope this helps those looking for pattern
Great pattern but extremely hard to follow along with what you are saying
Perhaps you might want to access the written pattern on my website to follow along with the video?
Beautiful stitch but I guess I am too much of a novice to even follow your careful instructions.
You can do it!
This is not easy to follow and too fast…you’ll need to add it in written on scree
You can slow down the video
Your video is too fast and a little confusing.
There’s a little wagon wheel at the top of the screen. Touch it. Another screen will come up. Play speed-up is slow, down is fast. Play around with it and see what works for you ❤
You are going too fast to follow you please slow down
You know you can slow the speed of any RUclips video down yourself right? Click on the gear icon, click on playback speed, and select something slower, like .25
To fast go slow speak to fast slow ☹️☹️☹️☹️
Try using the playback speed setting RUclips provides to adjust the speed of the video. Click on the gear icon, click on Playback speed, and set it to something slower like .25.
Pause video, playback
