Removing Morris Minor Outer Sill Cover

The sills on the Morris Minor include bolted and screwed on outer sill cover and a finishing rail. These can be removed with hand tools to reveal the inner sill for inspection and repair. This is how to do it.

I bet almost nobody in the history of Morris Minors ever saw what you did when they did their "big reveal"! Finding one that has lived in California since 1983, missing out on forty UK winters of salt covered, soaking wet roads and 300 days a year below the dewpoint, means you might have the most completely original UK registered car in existence!

Good luck with the stainless ones. From what I have seen they were painted silver - and mine have silver paint on the insides. I was thinking of powder coating them a matching silver.

You'd be unlikely to find a cleaner looking inside chassis than that in the UK. All pretty much rusted out.
