Some Pinoys who immigrated to Canada never really make it because they have not adjusted totally. Their mind is still in the Philippines. Secondly, life has become difficult for everybody (!) because the country took in so many immigrants/refugees but it cannot cope. There's pressure for everyone. For those wishing to go back to the PH, just think about your healthcare. In the US and the PH, one can go bankrupt if you get really sick. Thirdly if you have children, quality public education up to secondary, and your kids get child benefits.
Many immigrants just take their citizenship then go back to their home country as long as they can get Canadian passport. This has been going on for decades not just now. Anyway, times are tough anywhere, jobs, cost of living etc. even in the PH. So good luck.

Struggle talaga when starting a new life in another country. Have to find ways to save and make more income. Back then, I had to work evenings while my husband works daytime to save sa baby sitter. I also went back to school in my 30s to get a better paying job. I studied nursing while working full time. It was so hard, but after 10 years naka-raos din. Got a stable job, got our first house, then a 2nd house as rental investment. Now my husband and I are in our 50s and enjoying the fruits of our labor. He just retired, house paid off, and kids grown. I’m retiring next in 2.5 yrs. We would not have had the same opportunity and experience if we stayed sa Philippines. No regrets here.

Malapit na rin kaming umuwi ng misis ko for good. We've succeeded in our dream to give our children a good education, and I've never regretted the move. My eldest will soon finish law school, and their sibling will graduate from business school simultaneously. Proud lang ako dahil magtatapos sila sa finest university in Canada.

For the people who are living in the states of America
I hate to burst your bubble but US is not the center of the earth ..nobody! ( Americans think that's way though ....that is why alot of people do not like Americans...talk to middle easterns , europeans and chinese LOL) the europeans and Japanese already know when a tourist is American they will tell.you whem they open their mouth ....LOL
Look at the data ?( available google search ..type OECD countries then click the parameter for almost everything ....standard.)
The public education , healthcare, roads and SOCIAL SECURITY crumbling.
The gap of rich and poor is so evident
The rich are getting richer ( that is everywhere mind you)
D.o you see any cities in America the best place to live !. NONE...
The cities and counrtries who are thriving are small.populated country run by good people who love and serve their country well.
Do you hear any nationalilies talk.about their countries and brag ...NO ...funny ! Mostly the Filipinos who happens to live in that particular country .
This is why so much hatered around people spewing negative and unrealible facts .
We all live our lives ( the best we can )nothing is walk i n the park even the riches man live and sleep in ( elon ) CASITAS.

You said it right anywhere in the world pag masyadong kang ma arte.sa.life talagang you wont be contented.... maybe in Canada there is people go there that didnt make it but for my opinion i rather choice the lesser evil... yup so true maybe dyan all thing goes so high but all country in the world are experiencing a higher cost of living... im living in Australia for 25yrs and i can say that when i arrived here the mcdo is only $2.50australian dollar and it goes with unlimited drink...but now it 2024 my goodness Mcdo with drinks is $13.00 so just in that you can see how the yrs makes the basic commudities goes so up... the housing here is $450.000.for a simple 3 bedroom bungalow house a small backyard and a small front...our tax is 3x than other countries and the grocery is so unbelievable 3x high... but for me and my other.family that i carted from the philippines i still choice this one...in a simple reason that if i work here my hard work payoff with my wage not just work 8hrs and be pay for a small amout... yup it hard to find job but if you are not choicy and status person you can find so many job around...health system in Australia is not the best also but i rather be here when im sick cause i can go to the hospital without paying any $$$$ >its not us best as in the philippines if you are rich you can go to a luxurious hospital and be treated nicely...but hello you will pay.thousand and thousand of pesos... i have a cousin just have miscarriage.for 8weeks and the hospital charge them for 2days 110thousand that is deductable with philhealth ...can u imagine that if you are a simple filipino there where you gonna get that amount ...cause public hospital have so massive patient and its an.emergency..😞😞😞😞 so this is my own opinion you already in other country you settle in already make your life a bit simple to accommodate the higher cost of living pinoy always know how to fit-in, in all hardlife...why not make it there and adjust your lifestyle, i think if i can.say life in other country is not that bad...just be simple...patient... no status person... if you survive in the homeland philippines i know you will make it much nicer in other country.✌️✌️✌️✌️ 14:22

if they have reasons to live in other country, has a dream to fullfill, done a research about what to expect there not just encourage only by agency.
Phils is blessed with many resources, simple living of the people and if challenges come, they are so resilient but govt system is not exempted on 'bulokcracy' no matter how hard you want to change it.
Im still dreaming to give chance to my children a choice to live in other country too🙏, in HIS time😊.

Kung maraming taong hindi nagiging successful about the life here in the US or Canada, I could say that it’s the opposite for me perhaps due to the fact that I came here right after I graduated high school from the Philippines, I immigrated here right away and finished my college and earned my Masters Degree. I was able to acquire a great career that pays very well which enables me to send my 3 children to college as well. In short it’s an advantage if you get here young and acquire an education as tool for a better life.

I’m a nurse in Philippine but when I arrived in Canada, my job was cleaning the house and babysitter. Magtyaga lang and be patient. I upgraded my nursing for 18 months and I passed the exam then I applied in the biggest hospital in Vancouver. My life changed since then. Now I’m living with a good pension. It got me thinking if what their experienced is still relevant today since a lot of people mostly from developing countries wants to go in Canada. I hope di kayo mabudol and think wisely if is it really worth it since most of the things which most of us thinks are important (like material things even education) are losing its value. As far as job hunting depende rin. For me, i don't care kung mas mataas ang sweldo sa ibang bansa.

Its good to highlight ung totoo. Ang pinakamahirap po Canada is yung back to zero ka especially if ikaw ay nurse, engineer or doctor. You have to consider ur age and financial capability.
Kaya ingat kayo duon kasi its a lie.
Please also mentioned the toxic mindset of the filipino, uso din dyan ung mga pilipino na nagpapalayas ng kamag-anak, due to hosehold chores and its really petty. Madami ding marites especially sa Calgary SE (d ko nilalahat pero cguro based on my past experience.. valid ito).
Kaya guys dobt judge those people na umaalis ng Canada, they have there own reasons and bad experiences that we are ourselves is beyond our control.
Hindi sila mahina, weak, walang pag titiyaga its just like it didnt work our for them.

BUT there is no such thing as free - kasi kinakaltas lahat ito sa sweldo mo para na din paluwagan. AND also never forget to get insurance. Insurance from your work is fine too.

Great topic for discussion! Thank you for this, and i like that this content was created based on research. Ang healthcare kc is free kaya super tagal ng hintayan. Tbh, we are hurting for professionals e.g physicians, surgeons, staffing etc. In the Phils, pg may pambayad ka, matitingnan ka agad. So our healthcare system in Canada is broken, unfortunately.
Factor din i would like to add is age. I came here when i was 23 yo in 2006. I sponsored my parents in 2009, and that time they were only in their 60s. But because of changes in my work status, i had to reapply the sponsorship in 2014. They finally arrived in 2018, but they were already 10 years older. It was harder for their bodies to continue to work plus the depressing weather here in Metro Vancouver, so they went home to the Phils. I wish you and your family goodluck in your journey here in Canada and may you two find happiness!

It depends on your background, if you have a degree in finance u'll be hired at no times. But you have to have experience in different type of Accounting Software. Tried to take a contract works with higher pay but it's a short terms work, but if the company buy out your contracts you can work as long as they need you.

if wala kayong trabaho, it does not matter kung how low or high the cost of living any country sa mundo. waley pa rin. dapat kasi experienced kayo sa jobs na in demand bago kayo lumipad. so usually these are in healthcare and IT. hindi yung LPN lang,, at least RN then meron na kayong fighting chance sa abroad

Thank you so much Emma and Elwin for sharing your experiences in living in Canada. It’s choice and dream to go abroad to work and live. But it’s not for everyone. There’s is no place like home. Around the world the cost of living is high. Covid is one of the reason for that. When the whole world virtually on standby. The economic all over the world suffers, which affects everyone of us. I believe the world is starting to recover but it will take time. Life in general wherever you are is hard, lots of struggles, challenges and bumps along the way. From my own experience, work hard, lower your expectations, embrace the lifestyle of the country you’re chosen to live, work and bring up your family. Most of all pray for guidance, health, grace and opportunity from the lord above. Take care and god bless. 🙏❤️😊

There are times, wait time to be seen is 15 hours, and I am not kidding. Average is 3-4 hours wait and again, it will depend kung anong reason why you are seeking treatment. Kung chest pain and shortness of breath siyempre uunahin kang i-triage. O kaya, sakay ka ng ambulance.
I guess ang pagkakaiba ay yung specialties. Example may cancer and kailangan ng MRI/CT scan, Oncologist, or Surgery, sa US ay mabilisan…. lalo na kung sa malalaking hospital ka mag si-seek ng treatment. In a week or two meron ng plan of treatment.
Please correct me if I am wrong…

One of my friend left Edmonton to go to a smaller town. Nakakita sya ng job aligned sa natapos nya and after couple of years balik sya sa bigger city and easily nakahanap ng trabaho kase may work experience na sya.

I hope you have a license to fly your drone unless it below 250 gms. Anyway going back to your topic, many newcomers has a different expectation vs reality. I have noticed a lot of Filipino newcomers masyadong maselan, ayaw muna mag tiis, gusto agad maganda tutuluyan or sasakyan mga tipong instagramable muna, tsaka na isipin ang consequences. Marami din Filipino vloggers na nag encourage pa ng bumili ng sasakyan sa dealership even student or working permit pa lang. Di pa nakakabawi sa mga ginastos, uutang pa even though interest rate is not favorable.

nwys, tnx for this vlog. mabuhay kayo kabayan!

in the first place, if you think you have a better life in the Philippnes, why bother immigrating.... America or Canada is not a place of milk and honey.... anywhere you go, you have to work your ass off to advance or better your life.... do not outspend yourself.. save a percentage of your take home pay... at least 15 to 20 percent.... spend on what you need and not what you want.... and don't compete with anybody, just mind your own growth... this is an advice from an immigrant living in peace and comfortably... Good bless
