I am so glad you changed the thread cutting system. I was getting so frustrated because I only use fine rayon and cotton thread, no polyester. The cotton thread worked fine but the fairly elastic rayon thread would constantly pop out of the needles so, in the end, I wanted to sell the machine because it drove me round the bend. I was just rethreading needles. I have now upgraded to the 16X. I have not yet received it and it was the revised thread cutting system that decided me to stick with Melco and not go for a different make. So glad you did that! The thread used to be cut under tension and when the tension was released, the rayon thread would pop out of the needle more often than not. Seems that I was not the only one with this problem.
Well done to everyone involved with the development of this model. I think Melco has a strong winning recipe here and we can't wait to start supplying our customers with the EMT16X in South Africa. Super excited!
Wife and I are looking to buy a Melco in about 2 weeks. Can you explain the difference between the Melco Bravo and EMT16X? We were looking at the Bravo but I just found this video.
Hello, the Bravo is our consumer/prosumer model. EMT16X is our commercial model. Here is a link to get to the information on the EMT16X: www.melco.com/melco-emt16x-commercial-embroidery-machine
The machines I currently use have 2 different needle plates, one flat and one round. The round one being used for hats so the inside of the hat is closer to the passer foot...does this machine have different needle plates or does it only use the flat..thx
The big differences are in the lower arm and trimmer, the lower casting/base (notice that the EMT16X is open), and then a few capability differences like sew speed, possibly sew field (depending on package), and the EMT16X has a few more production features. A lot of it will depend on what your plans are for the machine. Sales reps can be a bit more specific with your business plans/needs.

Any problem with embroidering pockets with the new needle guard thumbscrew catching?

Hello, it only has one type of needle plate. It works good on both flat goods as well as hats.
Will the New Thread Tubes fit the EMT16 Plus? Can I just buy the Arm and have it installed?
Can EMT16 Plus benefit from new software?
what are the main differences vs the plus and this one? can i upgrade any parts from the emtX to add to the emt Plus?
What format is needed when embroidering on the Melco?
Here is a link showing all supported embroidery formats for the Melco EMT16X: www.melco-service.com/docs/DS_Manual_v10.pdf#page=21
