When he started surah Fatiha, I supposed he would read it in the maqam Kurdi, but he read in the maqam Nihawand. Sheikh Yasir continues to surprise us. May Allah bless him.

And I realised that Nahawand suits anything.
Bayati, to an extent.
Bayati in sheikhs prime was just so peaceful
I would argue his bayati would suit anywhere

Nahawand is a happy maqam usually but it could be used for sad verses if it was used in a high tone
@ basically sheikhs normal voice is Bayati
Ajam can be differentiated easily
Saba - sheikh style in saba is quite unique and once u listen to few of his saba recitations u can understand
Kurd- it’s basically very calm and sheikh over does the elongation
Hijaz- less intense version of Saba
Nahanwad- when sheikh goes into power mode he is most likely reciting in nahanwad
Rast- fast maqam
The rest I’m not so sure

“And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allah…” [Luqman 31:6]
The scholar of the ummah, Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: this means singing . Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: this means playing the drum (tabl). (Tafsir al-Tabari, 21/40)
Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: this ayah was revealed concerning singing and musical instruments (lit. woodwind instruments). (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 3/451)
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Among my ummah there will certainly be people who permit zina, silk, alcohol and musical instruments…” (Narrated by al-Bukhari ta’liqan, no. 5590; narrated as mawsul by al-Tabarani and al-Bayhaqi. See al-Silsilah al-Sahihah by al-Albani, 91)

Surah Qiyamah is very scary for me after Surah Qaf
The fact that he used the style he stopped using more than 3 years back, and added a style from another kurd style he stopped using, and that he gave hints of his 1425 style to it.
And that he elongated the optional madds after more than a year. Madd munfasil, isn't it?
