Hello, I purchased the QSC K112 subwoofer about the same time. I paired them with the Alto TS312 tops. I also use the BBE 882i sound processor. I have played many weddings with 250 to 300 guests. 1 of these QSC K112 subs kick ass. I have had complements every gig that I have done with this sub. I think 4 of these subs are in the 500+ guest zone. Since 1980, I have played at 2,800 weddings. I have had Bad End 18" subs, 4ea., Fender 18" subs, JBL PRX subs with 3-way JBL PRX tops EAW as well. QSC K112 subs. Best sub I have ever owned!
Sounded awesome! Thx. Modular decision makes perfect sense and also transportation is a lot easier regardless of the type of vehicle used to carry these.
Another benefit to this type system compared to the column arrays is redundancy in case of failure. That's happened to me recently and I only lost one component. I was able to keep going. Wow the demo sounds good!
These are on my short list of subs. I have QSC 10.2's , 12.2's and KW181's . I like you don't want to carry weight like I used to. I don't like that the price has gone up on them, but will probably get them anyway. I want to sound good without breaking my back. Thanks for the review.
Great system! Do you hook it up to the TV next to it? I have a single K8.2 over a K Sub. I think my Micro system outperforms any Column array. In the future you might want to upgrade to the K8.2. Big difference for not much more weight or money.
I CALLED AND TALKED TO THE QSC ENGINEERS. They said 2 ks112 and 2 CP8S should do between 150 and 200 people max.. as a mobile DJ I never do over that.. never had a wedding over 200 people. Never did a club, or a bar that was 200.00 people.. I don't see any reason for 2 of these ks112s if you're using the CP8S. The CP8S maximum output is 124 DB everytime you double the power ( WATTS ) you're only going to get 3DB MORE!! So 2 CP8S will give you about 127 DB peaks with a total of 2000watts THE KS112 has a maximum output of 128DB peaks at 2000watts.. So basically that 1 ks112 is 1db louder than a pair of CP8S!! ANOTHER WORDS 1 KS112 IS A PERFECT MATCH FOR THOSE CP8S.. 2 of the KS112S WILL OVERPOWER THE CP8S.. yes you could emphasize more bass but that just would not sound balanced. If you want to use 2 ks112s the output would be better matched with a couple of k8.2 10.2, or 12.2s The CP8S are not powerful enough.. In other words you can use 2 of the KS112S them if you want to BUT IF YOU WANT A BALANCE SOUND BOTH OF THOSE WILL NEVER BE PUSHED AT ALL... THEY WILL JUST BE DOING LESS WORK. YOU'RE LIFTING AN EXTRA SUBWOOFER FOR NO REASON.. ;)
@@DJiMike1 You would definitely need more powerful QSC mains If you're using two of these or one ks118.. I would rather have two KS112 because they're easier to push around and fit in your car unless you have a truck..
Great review! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I have been doing research on upgrading my PA system from Alto series to QSC or JBL. I ordered two used QSC K12 (not K12.2) for $900 a set of two which I think it was a great deal and looking to add couple subs to it and I was debating from getting 1 of the KS212c or get 2 of the KS112 and I think you have had helped me to decide to go with 2 of the KS112 as you mentioned I can in the future to get 2 more as needed but for now for my events size of 50 to 150 people I think it would work great!!! Thank you
Yes it is, I just did an outside wedding with just one of these and two QSC “KLA-12” tops and it sounded phenomenal! I took some video and I’ll see if I can post it on this channel later today...
I had the opportunity to do a side by side comparison of the ks112 and the rcf 705 II, both as a single sub paired with two k12.2’s I.e a one sub two tops setup. The Ks112 absolutely wiped the floor with the rcf. There was no comparison.
Rob Dixon , yes really, it surprised me as well. I appreciate that it’s a subjective thing but I found that the rcf just seemed to round out the bottom end and fill out the sound whereas the qsc added a real punch. Even the salesman was stunned by the difference.
I have a single KS212C and I’m ready to sell it for a pair of the KS112. Still have yours and thoughts? I’m looking to downgrade but also be more portable at gigs with matching subs but still convenient for most gigs.
Hello there. I just purchased a pair of QSC kS112 subs. I do have a pair of RCF ART 912 speakers that I will be using with these subs. Would you recommend 80hz or 100hz?
Hi! Any advice? What would sound better and more powerful for a church of 150 people? 4- ks112s or 2- ks212s. According to my common sense because the Ks112 has 2000W and bigger box than half of the ks212, and ks212 has only 3600w. I think that 4-ks112s would sound better, but I really dont know about speakers. Please help. Thanks
So! A lot of people are hyping up the bigger brother of the ks112...(the ks212c)....so I compared them both side by side, volume to volume, same song and everything at GC, but! Believe it or not the smaller Ks112 PUNCHED more! Standing about 5-6 ft away.....I was really curious and I looked at the spec sheets and the ks112 starts lower in frequency so i guess thats why you hear more knock?, But standing 30 feet away you could hear the 212more...so i guess the advantage of the 212 is just a difference in range? and not having sound in the back as much obviously (being cardioid)..but anyways thanks for the video above 🙏🏻💯
donald cannon i like the 112, alot of power for how small it is..it’s actually a bit more punchier (lower on frequency) but i think the 212 carries sound further...But if you position the 112 good ( front center dance floor You’ll be Ok) imo For how expensive the 212 is and how big it is I rather get a 181 or 118. But 112> 212
I am not sure how sales of the column array speakers are going and I am sure that will factor into the decision by QSC on whether they want to go that route. For the most part I only see wedding DJs using those systems. For the KS112 sub, I would use a K8 or K10 rather than the CP8. If the specs are correct the sub would outrun the CP8 but the K8 would be perfect. I would prefer the extra kick of the K10 for a sub plus top setup. But two KS112 subs will do 100 to 150 events with no problem.
What would be the optimal setting with these subwoofers if Im using the K12 QSC Tops and 2 or 1 QSC subwoofers 80% or 100% crossover etc. Party for about 100-200 ppl? I have Rane One Mixer?? 4 speaker or 3 speaker setup.
When running two subs cross the subs at 100 and set the gain at 12 o’clock “unity” and the K12 should have its gain at 10 o’clock. When running just one sub set the gain at two o’clock.
I agree bro. Going lighter is better. I happened to like the RCF 705 or 905 as mkii. Also the KS212c is cool but heavier. I like that they are bass forward speakers (Cardioid).
Would two qsc ks112 sound better than 1 qsc ks212c? Thinking about getting that setup, just wanted to know which route to take. 2 ks112 or 1 ks212c. Thank you
brame75 on paper SPL - 1 ks212c = 2 x ks112. If you get 2 subs you might place them better in a room. But if you are looking for a single sub, better to choose kw181 (same weight as ks212c) which has much more output and deepness.
Hi, I would recommend getting the 212 with the cardioid pattern, why ? Must of the time Dj's or live sound set up are near a wall and having a regular sub will send sound to the wall and baunce back to the front of the sub getting out of phase and then affecting the low end at the dance floor or to the point of interest or just inconsistence in the lower end as you walk by the room or area. You can do this with two regular subs, but then you will need an extra equipment to delay the signal then turn around one of the subs and reversing the phase , the problem I had with the later is people start messing around with the buttons or whatever is in the back of your sub, with the 212 is just plug and play.
Again I did a side by side between the kw181 and KS212c as a single sub with two k12.2’s. I ended up buying the KS112c. Occasionally you’d find a frequency where the 181 really shone through but for most of the stuff we played through them the 212c just had so much more punch and presence.

Yes. You can dial in with the DSP where to cut with the aux out
I hope and I am praying to QSC gods to make a battery powered array set up
Adrian Guerrero I don’t think they will, I don’t think QSC would go down to that level, you need real power to get a good big sound
