As old as this car is, it doesn't look outdated. The interior is definitely showing some age though. This is the only car left in the lineup to update. Hopefully we will see one soon.
+Nathan Kendall Saw a few pic of the 2017 skyactiv model it looks cool . It's rumoured to have a 2.5 liter turbo charged skyactiv engine that may also show up in the new Mazdaspeed 3
Great review. I used to enjoy "MPG Omatic" do you still make those on your own? We bought a 2013 and it has been a great family car. About the screen, a lot is made about big screen size now. What goes away with big screens is room for dedicated buttons and knobs. I'll take dedicated knobs any day. I always can find them by touch without taking my eyes off the road. And about soft touch dashboards, if you spend a lot of time squeezing your dashboard, may I recommend a therapist for you! The car is soft touch where it counts, arm rests at side and center are very well padded and leather covered. The Mazda has been very reliable and averaging 18 mpg in 80% city driving. We have the AWD Touring trim. Bluetooth connectivity is easy and I like how it automatically connects and starts playing music for me. Pandora apps works great too! My only gripes are the 20 inch rims make the ride stiff for my taste, even though they draw compliments and the cargo area carpet traps dog hair.
Elizabeth Grove, I have Mazda cx9, I got the Mazda cx9 2014 I absolutely love it I would never trade it in any way shape or form this is our third Mazda that we have bought at North Penn Mazda in PA. I wouldn't trade this car for any other car for a crossover I think its best on the market. I do not have problem with Mazda cars I love the Mazda cars.
I have the 2015 mazda cx9 sport its nice love it two kids 2 kids and years old two and half and 6 mouths I had a 2013 mazda 3 sport sky active first of all had problems with motor at 35000 miles but took good care of me and put me in new cx9 all I have to say is mazda will take care of u if unsatisfied that's Nelson mazda tennessee 0 down thanks to mazda Antioch
Getting rebooted in 2016. If you want one now get a used one. That 3rd row is a joke, 34" is legroom is laughable even if you slide the 2nd row forward a little bit.
Nathan Brown Uhhh......you're 5'6", of course you'll fit in the kiddie seats. The rest of us normal sized adults won't fit comfortably in the 3rd row. The real question is just how many phone books do you sit on to reach the pedals....lol?
Nathan Brown Relax wee man, I put an "lol" at the end. It takes a confident man to admit he still shops in the junior-mens department. I salute you :^}

+mark williams. In fact new model eqipee with 2.5l engine will be available in Spring 2016.
Great review. I loved how you actually got in all 3 rows to give a good feel for the space in the vehicle. Look forward to your next review
My cousin has a 2010 and has not had any trouble with it.Just a little over 100000 miles and other than a set of brakes it has been a good vehicle
It is a good vehicle. I had a 2009 with no issues it was just a gas hog so i got the cx5 instead
Water pump or timing chain will break the engines they have are known for that
@@Jacob-sq6dx Water pump went at about 150000 miles. That finished it off.
@@emeyer6963 They have the 3.7 duratec, they are not good engines due to the water pump

how MPG did you get..........thanks!
Yawn!......This guy will cure anyone's insomnia.
The biggest drawback of the old design is crash ratings. The cx9 fares rather poorly.
In all fairness, this is no ware near the price of an Acura or BMW, so yes it will have some plastic. I would never have made that comparison.

I'm 5'6 and it fit fine in the third row. I mean I've been on 2hr trips in the 3rd seat and its not as bad as a Volkswagen Routan.

Ok dude, I'm not that short. And No, I don't need phone books to see over the hood. Don't worry about me and my driving style, just worry about you.
