Why was mine chalk full of spooge? I mean all the way to the cap that had to be pulled off. I think they may have left out that gasket at around 8:30 but the dang screw is jammed and nearly stripped.
Do the bolts at 8:24 hold down the round part on powervalve tightly? Mine have a bit of play and I wonder if I need to shorten my bolts so it holds down snug.
@@highlandcycles I just looked at that video about the top end rebuild it’s on the two stroke for some reason I thought it was on a 250 four stroke . I think I’m going to go with the 3 1/4 inch for my 78 mm piston.
Great video👍🏻 Question. I have a 2004 Yamaha yz125 I was told the are a few different size of pistons those bikes take how do you tell which one your bike takes? This would make a great video by the way..
Originally its stamped on the cylinder. A B C or D. If that is worn off you have to measure but the reality is that the difference in size is almost negligible. I almost always use a B piston.
@@highlandcycles thanks for the response. I measured the cylinder last night and mine is a 53.4 mm which is an A so that what I just ordered right before I read this. But I will keep it in mind the next time redo the top end
@@highlandcycles I'm aware of both and have both and have rebuilt both numerous times. I just know that the Banshee basically proves that power valves aren't that necessary for a powerful 2 stroke engine. Although, on the other hand, a 250cc 2 stroke dirtbike has way more hp than the 350 Banshee... So nvm..🤣
@@geopioneergsxr5357 I wasn’t meaning to be a jerk. Some people just don’t know what a power valve does. It definitely doesn’t make more power. Just a broader power band so they are easier to ride.

Diggin that “2~Strokes Matter” sweatshirt!

AvE is the man!
Totally
Awesome video!!!
Thanks man
XR in the background. I'd recognize that heat shield anywhere 😁
Heck yeah

It should be snug
@@highlandcycles thanks brotha it didn't seem right that it had a .5mm gap. I think I'll shave the bolts down a bit for a tight fit.
What type of liquid do you use in your ultra sonic cleaner?
Fabuloso in water
Dammn i like ur videos it helps me alot cause i have a yz144 2 stroke that i need to fully rebuild
Right on
Are the power valves the same on the 125/144?
What size flex hone do you use for your cylinders?
I honestly don’t know the size off the top of my head. I have a big selection and I just grab the one I need.

What’s your opinion on maxima 927? I’ve been running it In my bikes and skis. Don’t seem to see much build up. And I know castor protects very well
I’ve never used it but I know it’s good.
@@highlandcycles I’ve heard it can cause build up. I would think as long as the jetting is good it should be fine?
@@benselby6171 I agree
i have a yz 144 and need a head gasket do you know where i can find one ? or if the oem one will fit?
I would try Athena
Any way I can text you I’m doing a 144 on my 2003 yz 125 I need pointers on what to do and what to get
You can email to morgan@highland-cycles.com
Still wondering how to rebuild the xr 100
Me too. Actually, I found a part we need. Little gasket so no biggie but have to order it
For a 05 yz125 with a 144 kit. Where can I get a new actuator shaft seal ????
Should be on the Yamaha parts fiche
@@highlandcycles is it the same for the Athena 144 cylinder?
@@highlandcycles thanks for the response by the way
@@DirtbikeDad I’m pretty sure it is
@@highlandcycles thanks. Leak a lil oil from that area so I’m guessing that’s where !
What year is this bike
2002

The banshee does just fine without power valves..
It’s a twin and not built for what a dirt bike does

Call me crazy but when mash the like button it's supposed to light up, I hope that the tech overlords aren't trying to steal your thumbs up count..
I’m sure it is working.
