- This video showcases the Emporia Vue (Gen 2) Smart Home Energy Monitoring System. We've had this system installed for three years, and I'm testing the accuracy of it in this video.

*This link is for the Emporia Vue 3 system, which is replacing the Emporia Vue 2 system. Per Emporia, the Vue 3 system has minor improvements, some of which may include even better accuracy than the Vue 2 monitor tested in this video. However, I have not tested the Vue 3 system.

Fantastic, thanks!
They just came out with an updated unit. Changed the wires to 2 wire instead of the single wire. They said the single wire with 2 wires inside was throwing measurements off
Glancing at Amazon it seems the Vue 2 system is maybe being phased out for the Vue 3. I don’t see huge differences between the two for standard installations. Emporia also states the Vue 2 and Vue 3 both have similar accuracies of +/-2%.
I had been wanting to expand my current setup as I have a few too many circuits for the 16 monitors on the Vue 2; maybe I’ll have to try out the Vue 3.
The 1 sec look back data is very bad, only shows accurate detail while using app but 1sec look back is useless, anyone else experiencing? Ever since an app downgrade about 1 year ago...
For what I've used this system for, I haven't had any major issues with the data presentation. If I want to see an instantaneous change in energy use, I've used the 1 second intervals in both the tabular format and the graphed trends. What app version of Emporia Energy are you using? Mine is v3.4.7.6198.
@@HomeLifeLeisureDIY Yes same version, start app and go to 1 sec data and look back, the data is almost useless, going forward as long as app is open its fine. I talked to emporia yesterday and this a problem for everyone.
Ok, I see it now. To me it looks like the 1sec graph flatlines at 1 minute intervals when looking back at data, like you said, making it pointless. I hadn’t noticed as I don’t usually look at the 1sec graph, but hopefully it’s something they can fix with an update.
