That home plate has been death for Angels during times of celebration. Don Baylor breaking his leg during a ceremonial first pitch and Kendris Morales breaking his leg after a walk off homerun and never being the same again. This was so painful to watch.

He was my favorite of the big home run hitters. I will never forget watching a game on TV when the camera man focused on a fan holding a sign that said "Don Baylor is a God"
    FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!!!!!!!

He hurt it badly but it was just from trying to stand up, he was lucky he broke it on a first pitch with a training staff nearby. Imagine if he hurt it that badly at his house all by himself since its an injury that clearly could've happened at any point. Granted if he did it at home he could've called 911, but what if he was several feet away from the closest phone in his house.

When you have an old timer like that pretending to be the catcher on a ceremonial first pitch probably just have him stand up and catch a regular throw. But also why an active player on the team should be catching the ball and not a retired player with knee issues.
