Thanks so much for this video, my dad recommended to watch you :D love Rio Park, haven't been in years though! Last time we went was before the refurb so it does make me feel sad seeing it how it is now as it doesn't feel like my Rio Park anymore but the place does look lovely! Also noticed Juan on the entrance to the restaurant, he's been there for many years so I'm glad to see him there still, great guy! :D thanks for the detailed review again! Xxxxx
A good hotel, as you have proven they need to improve on information, glad you got your kettle for your tiffin. Beautiful outdoor space like the glass elevator, lots for kids. Your room was lovely decor reminded me of the Jetson's house, 70s futuristic, ensuite awesome good they've adapted for folk with mobility needs Decent food on offer, good staff make for a good stay. The price is tremendous. Thank you 😊
Am off to Rio Park on Tuesday 14th January flying from Glasgow with Tiu, full board got a good deal £644 for a week two people looking forward to seeing hotel looks nice weather looks not to bad 15c and mostly sunny
Hi Paul excellent video of the Rio park hotel in benidorm in a quiet area of benidorm not far from the old town and now is four stay and years ago it was only two stars the rooms look nice and tidy the bathroom looks excellent to and food was excellent thanks Paul excellent video take care pal from Keith 👍👍👍👍👍
I stayed here in 1970/71 with my mum and dad and sister. I was only 20. Learned to swim in the pool. Obs totally different then. Remember a market behind it too. No hotels around it. Great memories. ❤
I too stayed in 1972 my first of many visits to Benidorm. Never stayed at Rio Park since though. I remember walking to the sea front down a dusty road with very few hotels. I still holiday in Benidorm several times a year ( going this Sunday for my first this year. I did like this hotel , even though it was basic, it was waiter service at the table, no buffet in those days. I’m still friends with my travel buddy even though we live on different continents now. Happy days.
Stayed in the Rio Park many years ago in a Single room and they were tiny with no balcony. If they done All Inclusive would go back as the hotel has had a major refurbisment in recent years and looks a lot better than it did last time we were there.
stayed here last week of November and as I usually stay over the otherside or Old town I wasn t looking forward to staying in the new town by all the bars. But hay what a brilliant hotel food fantastic staff fantastic how clean it is fantastic. The lane down was no trouble what ever time of day or night as the college is open by this lane opp the hotel. I loved the cats that live around the entrance who are well looked after and fed and the vet comes out to see them every so often. The scooters was cheaper to hire opp the hotel, than from the hotel itself. I would definitely stay here again. as we also was on the 4th floor few rooms away from yourself
great vlog as per usual love the fact that you concentrate on the hotels unlike others who do food reviews plus how you try for the single suppliments as this helps sole travellers
Stopped here in 1981, first family holiday abroad! Hotel had been closed due to Legionella outbreak and was first week of opening. Thomsons offered us alternative if we wished but we said no as the Rio Park was the only hotel in Benidorm that had been inspected and cleared by UK enviromental health. Had a great holiday staff couldn't do enough.
We were in the floor below you Paul. Room 308. We were there for 3 days. Internet was fine on i-pad & phones. Food was great & we would stay there again.
3 times in Benidorm and this hotel is our favourite. As per a previous comment we went with Tui and werent charged for the safe. Perhaps an agreement with them. The consierge to restuarant is a real gent, glimpsed him on your video .
Hi there stayed here in 1990 with my wife loved the hotel and staff. food then wasn’t that good so we usually ate out at the Magic Roundabout pub restaurant . About the Yellow brick road we used to walk down and up it to get to the nightlife and never had any bother or felt unsafe . Times must have changed Sadly and was very helpful of you to point out that is has become unsafe and dangerous whey we stayed at Rio park there were lots of lampposts all the way along the path they seem to have been taken away. Keep up the great videos really enjoyed the upload 👍
Hi Paul another great informative vlog, not being too familiar with Benidorm would it be possible to point out other hotels when you are doing the balcony view so I can get my bearings? Thanks, Tez.
I stayed there it was about 20 years ago,the double room we had was the smallest we had ever stayed in overlooked the swimming pools. The food was ok and the entertainment was very good.
Hi Paul, in the recent documentary on tv everyone was raving about the Rio park hotel and no one mentioned the extortionate cost of a safe.like you I’ve stayed next door at the castilla and popped into the Rio but then twenty years ago it was the pits. Great review Paul thank you. I wouldn’t be paying that for a safe either.
This Hotel was the first hotel in Benidorm in the 70 s to be found to have Ligenela at the time it had 3 stars .we stayed in it when it reopened it had one star and we had the best Holiday for years the entertainment at night was fantastic and in the day round the pool the kids c!in was rilliant.
Hi.Paul, The disabled rooms cost more, they certainly do in the UK. Beds are lower as is the sink for someone in a wheelchair. Not all disabled rooms are as good as this one is. And you pay a premium. Pity they don't have more disabled rooms like this in the UK. I loved the room. When a 4star hotel is busy it has to be good, obviously it's cheaper in January. Definitely catered for children and families, and disabled love it. Thanks Paul.
I have stayed there in a single room, it wasn't much bigger than the entrance to that room. It was fine as I was on a stag do and well oiled at bed time. Food was good and no street noise. 5 mins from Cafe Benidorm and 10 mins walk to bus station. Front desk staff were mostly expats and very helpful. I never saw the yellow brick road.
I alway go allinclusive but last hotel port oro vista was terrible we had to go out for food and drinks terrible . I'm thinking of going half board from. Now on due to my experience from there .
I always like your hotel reviews there September hotel Presidente sure it was it was from your review ,watched a couple of RUclips Benidorm channels being single pensioner they say don't get walking home on your own late😱
Hi Paul, I stopped here about two years ago. Great Hotel can't fault the food. Bath robes and drinks must be new. Only problem I found is you can wait an age for lifts at peak times.
Last time we were in benidorm we lost our passports because we didn't leave them in the safe and I can tell you it cost a lot more than 54 euros to replace them
Love your review me and the missus are from ireland 🇮🇪 we love going benidorm, was just wandering have you done a review on apartment oasis because we have it booked for paddys day 💚 if y9u have done a review could you tag me the video plz ty 😊 and keep the reviews coming ty 😊
The hotel was ok when we stayed there but the receptionist was rude upon our arrival the beds where a bit thin but we both preferred hotel pueblo for everything but that’s just my opinion
It's a great hotel catering mostly for the Brits, stayed there many times ..think you're wrong about the yellow brick road at night never heard of anyone being mugged or beaten up and like I said I've stayed there many times
Good hotel stayed there 2 weeks end of last year, if u book through tui you get the safe for free coming back this year but not to Rio park, only reason is its not all inclusive and 2 weeks buying drinks gets expensive! Other then that reason alone couldn’t fault Rio park.
We have only stayed here once, a few years ago, before the refurbishment. We thought the food was quite poor, to be honest, with little choice, and we ate out most of the time. We have stayed in nicer hotels in Benidorm's old town.
Been many times over the years . Seen 3 major refurbs . Never have i seen or uncounted a problem on the yellow brick road . But i have heard of drunk men on there own been robbed .
Stayed there in oct last year always went with tui never payed for a safe with them but went with easyjet in oct and was charged 28 euros for the week but food was not the best breakfast youcant go wrong with but evening meal wasn't good
I think the room was ok I just don't think it needed a single bed as ypu come in maybe a nice sofa And make it a suite instead hotel seemed good. Safe seemed very expensive. I always put my passport in a drawer near the bed
I prefer a quilt on my bed rather than sheets & blankets so it's good that people get a choice. I think your questioning of the rooms you get for your single night stays will be down to the booking App you use. The location is known for unsavoury individuals and for that reason I would never stay there.
Hi Paul I’ve stayed there Xmas 2023 and June 2024 both with TUI So disappointed never been there for 20 yrs and it was clean can’t fault that but food and entertainment was disappointing 10:20 at least did hotel ridour November 2024 food nothing special but better for entertainment but hitting a£1000 for two for a week and Rio park was dearest maybe time to book not with holiday company x
Just thought I'd let you know paul I had the police turn up to let me know one of the places I reviewed actually called the police or someone did on there behalf on me and they laughed then said do not worry we won't be doing anything because we have more important things to worry about.
Hi Paul. I've just found out about the same in Rio Park. If you book through Tui like we do. The safe is free, but if you book direct with the hotel it's €4 a day. Just in case anyone asks you. Nice video by the way. Love watching you x
Stayed here last March and while the room was very nice I thought the food was awful and the pool area needs a bit of tlc. We didn’t have any problems on the yellow brick road but it’s certainly an area where you need to keep your wits about you. Wouldn’t stay here again.
So you don't think it worth paying for the safe to keep your valueables in for 7 days or more, one night we'll probably nor would I, a week or more, yes I would, as for The Yellow Brick Road, have used this road mean times, day, afternoon and evening during our stays in the Rio Park, never had a problem, just be aware of what's around you.
No I said it doesn't matter for me one night and I did say it would work out £56 if your staying for 2 weeks depends on individuals budget, down to them if they want to pay
I stayed at the Rio Park in November, lovely rooms, lovely staff. Rubbish food and the area is very unsafe at night and not great in the daytime either if you're out and about solo. Other areas of Benidorm feel much safer

I thought food was ok here back in 2022. know what you mean about the area, on the yellow brick road and there is aways moroccan and other North African pickpockets lurking around that sliver of walk way that seems dimly lite but shouldn't be..
I wouldn’t stay there just for the safe price that’s ridiculous… might sound tight but it’s just the principle of it €4 a day is ridiculous.. should be a free save in every hotel over there especially when they want to be in and out the rooms every day.
Nice hotel, pools, room, ensuite, balcony, english programmes & food looks good, nice they accommodate disabled. BUT, I would not stay there, the safe cost plus the wifi not in room, no welcome/info pack so you have to ask.. & especially Yellow Brick rd. Nope I wouldnt stay here.
I stayed here last year! Was not impressed: coffee/tea stains on the wall, dirty bathroom (yours was huge in comparison!); couldn't open the balcony door for all the smokers around, so we had to rely on the dust-filled air-con that screwed up our chests, and the food was varied, but the quality was disappointing 👎

Hi Paul this a good hotel for disabled people The food looked good shame about the expensive safe
My first foreign holiday as a kid in the mid-70s was at the Rio Park.
Am off to Rio Park on Tuesday 14th January flying from Glasgow with Tiu, full board got a good deal £644 for a week two people looking forward to seeing hotel looks nice weather looks not to bad 15c and mostly sunny
It looked very good & the bathroom was fantastic but I’m disabled so it would be perfect for us, smashing video & great advice, many thanks Paul xx
Another quality honest vlog Paul , the food looked nice at this one ,, you did right not paying for the safe !!! Rip off
Loved the colour choices / decor in the room. Scary story about your poor mate getting his legs broken 😮
Another fab video, Paul xx
Hi Happy New Year and that was an excellent video and what a nice hotel and room.

Thanks Paul👍..Nice hotel, definitely worth a stay👍
Stayed at the Rio Park on many occasions & in all fairness its a very good hotel.

Great informative video Paul. The Rio Park has always been a good hotel for families and people with disabilities. Not one for me. Far too busy.😀👍
❤ I have stayed in this hotel lovely

Hi Paul, I stopped here about two years ago. Great Hotel can't fault the food. Bath robes and drinks must be new. Only problem I found is you can wait an age for lifts at peak times.
Last time we were in benidorm we lost our passports because we didn't leave them in the safe and I can tell you it cost a lot more than 54 euros to replace them
My husband did as well in covid times when we had to carry them with you .cost us a fortune on taxis and passport
Haha 😂 no wonder you got a shock when you first went in.

Hi would be nice to include how you get to these hotels from the airport in Benidorm.
I've done videos on this
@whoknowswhere ok I'll have a look.
Thanks
The hotel was ok when we stayed there but the receptionist was rude upon our arrival the beds where a bit thin but we both preferred hotel pueblo for everything but that’s just my opinion
Sorry the safe is well worth it. I suppose you take your chances.
Go to Rio park in Nov thanks you first time in Rio park last year flash hotel ❤
Good review of this hotel ty Paul. And its away from the strip so a added bonus.
Stayed here in 23 . The safe was free but didn't get robes or complimentary drinks !! Sounds like the safe is paying for the extras 😮
I stayed there with my husband before he died loverly hotel wish I could go back xp
It's a great hotel catering mostly for the Brits, stayed there many times ..think you're wrong about the yellow brick road at night never heard of anyone being mugged or beaten up and like I said I've stayed there many times

Hi could you please do one of the MedPlaya Regente please I love your videos, thanks
Where in Benidorm is this hotel Paul ❤
Centre of Levante Beach about 6 roads back
Top of yellow brick Road
We have only stayed here once, a few years ago, before the refurbishment. We thought the food was quite poor, to be honest, with little choice, and we ate out most of the time. We have stayed in nicer hotels in Benidorm's old town.
Minus 8 now!
Where are you off to next Paul?
Lanzarote for a break
Looks like a nice hotel, shame they charge so much for the safe.
Been many times over the years . Seen 3 major refurbs . Never have i seen or uncounted a problem on the yellow brick road . But i have heard of drunk men on there own been robbed .
I stayed there in the 80's it was a bit of a dump then that walkway was bad then too
Why don't they police the yellow brick bit?
If book through tui. Safe is free
What's the hotel trying to tell you paul😂 no seriously looks quite nice
lol. I thought that myself
A couple of years ago, yeah pull the other one 😂😂😂, good job and stay safe, 🤡☘☘☘
If booked with TUI, the safe is free.
Know where now Paul x
Actually I've passed on your information and connections to channel..Friends are booking requesting disability room. So all good 👍.
Safe is free when you book with Tui
I prefer a quilt on my bed rather than sheets & blankets so it's good that people get a choice. When did they start charging for the safes. We've stayed there 23 times and never paid for a safe. Not even in May and September 2024
Hi Paul. I've just found out about the same in Rio Park. If you book through Tui like we do. The safe is free, but if you book direct with the hotel it's €4 a day. Just in case anyone asks you. Nice video by the way. Love watching you x

Wrong area like you said such a shame nice hotel it wouldn't put me off but I would do what you said and walk around

Yellow brick road is a lot better since they cut back on the tree's and bushes You can see whats ahead of you now Still have to be careful
4euro per night for a safe😮 they are having a laugh
3*. Not 4*
I stayed at the Rio Park in November, lovely rooms, lovely staff. Rubbish food and the area is very unsafe at night and not great in the daytime either if you're out and about solo. Other areas of Benidorm feel much safer

I wouldn't stay in this hotel I've read some reviews about people.being mugged plus we came last September to Regente not the best chain for us 😊
Been going there for over 40 years
But never again the food was just look warm staff rude beds uncomfortable
I wouldn’t stay there just for the safe price that’s ridiculous… might sound tight but it’s just the principle of it €4 a day is ridiculous.. should be a free save in every hotel over there especially when they want to be in and out the rooms every day.

Single bed under a shelf so bad
Always makes me sick paying Money for a safe to keep your valuables safe from there Staff Mmmmmmmmmm oh and thats a disabled room.
The safe is a rip off
