I'm 40 and never even seen an ocean. I went to Florida once just to jump in the ocean once at least. But soon as I hit Jacksonville I got a call from my brother and his wife went into labor 6 weeks early and he needed me so I guess that's what home is. I have finally figured out that, for me, home is a feeling. At this point in my life, home is wherever my long time love is. He is my strength, my warmth and my protection. He offers safety and security that no building could ever provide. He is my home.
What does home mean to me? I've been on my own for as long as I can remember. No Friends, No Family, and No Home. Wherever I go is home whether a broke down trailer or a run down apartment complex - to even a cardboard box or my car - is home.
Home is a place where the world cant see or hear you if you so wish, this includes the driveway and garden area. A place you could sun bathe without the neighbours seeing you or hearing your conversation. A place you could start a power tool at 3am without worry someone may disapprove, or throw a party. A place where you cant hear other people or barking dogs when you are there. I understand this isnt possible with more than 7 billion people on the planet a lot of people have to live in appartments in a polluted city. This however is my idea if home.
