Just like any vocalists, they've probably had a tough tour with lots of energy on those vocal cords. Probably just a tough day hitting those notes. Huge thing to remember with singers.
I can't say this enough...WOVENWAR'S debut album is an absolute banger and in my top ten ALL-TIME heavy music albums. So we'll written and executed and delivers on every aspect of what I love in heavy music. As much as I love AS I LAY DYING, I really hope now that they have a new lineup WOVENWAR can come back together and male a new album that is as good as their debut. Honor Is Dead is good, but not anywhere close to as good as their debut. Ohh...and apparently according to this video they FUCKING SLAY LIVE, TOO!!!! 🤘🔥
Also, JORDAN MANCINO is one of the all time great metal drummers with the company of Justin Foley of KILLSWITCH and Matt Greiner of AUGUST BURNS RED! Easily the top three drummers in metal.

They're off key in the beginning, but they get tighter as the show goes on. Check out the songs toward the end.
Yeah pretty damn solid during matter of time and prophets, hopefully they can keep it more consistent in future shows :)

I don't understand the criticism, this band's not bad at all. If they wanted to keep the same exact sound as AILD, they would've just replaced Tim.

Jajjajaj because sadly he is kinda motherfucker.... but it´'s all right..I love him too..from his Aild times..with these great three mates that didn't lose their time, and made Wovenwar, while waiting for his friend , who finally did wrong again, for me, Tim doesn't matter anymore....

Essas pessoas que estão criticando os vocais certamente não entendem nada de música, os vocais estão perfeitamente condizendo com o estilo que eles quiserem implementar na banda, não é porque não tem vocal gultural ou vários breakdowns que a banda não é boa, galera tem que procurar entender mais sobre música e cada gênero e largar de ser fanboy

This is why you don't overproduce and layer the fuck out of vocals in the studio. Because when you do, you have to live up to it live, even though you can't come close.
You don't necessarily HAVE to live up to it live. If anyone in the audience expects a live show to sound as perfect as a studio recording, they have a lot to learn. Live music is it's own art, and even though it's not as crisp as an album, it's just as beautiful, if not MORE beautiful than an album. It show cases the difficulty of actually performing.
jordan mancino is an absolute beast on drums...still miss the lows and growls of tim though
I think the vocals would’ve been PERFECT if it was only the lead. That’s the problem bands with beautiful harmonies face when the lead singer does all the vocals in the studio, then requires a guitarist/bassist to fill that void live (just my guess, since idt they’d let the backup vocalist record vocals sounding like this in the studio in the first place). Like some said, it got much better near the end though
As an American, it's kind of weird to hear clapping at a metal show. We just yell and throw up the devil horns after each song here. I find it interesting that over in Europe or other countries, they mostly just clap. They mosh, yes... but then stop to give a proper hand 😂
Makes me really sad, watching this... No comparison between what these guys are now and what they used to be.. :(
I hope shane gets to show a little of his guitar skills on the next album

I love their album, however this performance, holy crap what a dog's breakfast. Musically pretty solid, and tuned down from what's on the album. The vocal are absolutely horrid - embarrassing actually.
This is why most bands prefer to growl underneath this types of riffs
allxtar music My best guess (as it's happened to me numerous times) is that the monitor mix on stage was useless. The vocalists couldn't hear the rest of the band, or each other.
The balance doesn't help either in the video.. harmonies are way upfront and all over the place. Love their album but yeah, they did not deliver at all vocally on this one.
Yeah idk, I'm thinking that vocals themselves really aren't that bad, but it just seemed like to me the backup vocal mic almost seemed even louder than the lead vocal mic.. just seemed like it kind of threw off the vocal dynamic of the songs. Not to say the vocals couldn't have been better, but I don't think the sound came through the way it probably should have.
dtpipelineguy I think you're right. I noticed a few times Shane stops singing and looks at Josh like he's trying to listen to him and find the pitch again or something. It's really hard to perform vocally if you can't tell if you're in tune with the rest of the band.
I've never been to a live show where Shane could sing or play guitar solos. This band or Oh, Sleeper. He's a great studio musician but live, he sucks pretty bad. Covers it by singing falsetto.
The one who knocks yeh he muffs it live, but who doesn't layer the fuck out of their albums.

Harmony vocals are just difficult and very delicate, especially live. But I like them a lot, it adds to the complexity if this Super Group
@@HyperactivityFitness At a live show, almost no one can hear the harmonies anyway, until they're out of harmony. As I say, you really don't need to sing harmony on every line. Watch (a completely different genre) Seal perform live. His studio stuff has upwards of 10 vocal tracks, but he does it all himself live without much backup. At least in the one live video I've seen of him. Point is, one good singer is better than mediocre or even awful harmony.

Yeah, this is bad compared to when I saw them live. However, I will say, despite the horrid vocals at this show, they have one hell of a scream.

I thought they sounded great! The fact that the vocals aren't perfect adds to the beauty of live music! Its very difficult to sing live as it is, and it's even more difficult when each band member is singing and playing an instrument SIMULTANEOUSLY

Less Josh, more shane.. His vocals are set to high and half the time he is off key. Shane is a way better singer than Josh. Josh is to mono-toned.
WovenWar isn't AILD.. but this is a good example of how an entire group of people can make completely different music when a member is swapped out. Not bad, but the new singer is absolutely the weakest link.

I know you can't compare AILD to the new band but the vocals are actually bad. I'm not comparing to what they used to be with Tim but come on...in a studio they can alter the voice layers but live is just a shit show. Instruments are great though.

I've actually been enjoying Wovenwar more than AILD lately! The 2 wovenwar albums were masterpieces, you just need to give them time to sink in.
