Nice work solving the problem. Would you just confirm for, 05-06 GSXR-1000 Stem and triples will fit the CX500 straight up as long as you use conversion bearings? Thanks
Those and many others actually. I've had some R6 front ends and seen many cbr front ends go on again with just bearings. It will be up to you to confirm stem lengths for your needs. The cx500forum and motofaction.org are great sources of information for swaps
I bought the correct lower triple from Ebay. I first usually confirm part numbers through Partzilla and then search various avenues for used parts where I can use them.
Think of vapor hone like sand blasting but instead of compressed air and sand you have pressurized water with a grit in it. It doesn't remove any material which is important on aluminum parts. It takes the material back to original finish and is really awesome when done as you can then polish, paint, powdercoat on a better surface.
Goodwork
Yes
Dude, I'd have been so angry! All that work only to find out the previous owner did a really stupid hack and now you have to fix it.
Yeah this bike was seriously hacked when the customer got it
Crazy
It was so bad

@@BrickHouseBuilds Thanks for the help and advice.
There’s a lot of cowboys out there
There were a lot of safety issues on the bike when I got it. It would have been easier to start with a stock bike
One question, where did you bougth the new part?

Brick House Builds cool! Maybe take a look next time at motorparts-online.com they have a huge stock off used parts.
They look to be based in the UK. For me that would be a killer on exchange rate, shipping, and wait time.
What is vapor honed?

Also, vapor hone is also called vapor blasting but I have just always used the first term because reasons.
