    Is there an online glossary of Pin labels? I have a TFT screen but the labelling is different to yours. and I have an early Pi but without pin label definitions there does not seem any easy way to check that my connections will work.

    I have this exact screen, and no matter what I do, I can't get it to work. I'm running RetroPie on a Zero W, and even tho I've added PIL and tried to get Numpy too, it just won't work. Gonna try with a desktop version of Linux, see if I can figure it out from there, which distribution are you running here?

    What is that interface you are using; I’ve only ever used retropie

    I have the 128*160, but I don't seem to have the same pins. Eg: I don't have a "DC" pin. Is there a dictionary or documentation or smth to know which pin is which?

    st7735s or st7735r?

      Good question although all I have printed on the display is ST7735, NOMEN_TEC V2.0 (on the 128x128) ... the 160x128 is identified only as KMR-1.8 SPI

      Hi Jalecko - running the Raspberry Pi OS desktop on a 128x128 will be a challenge for your eyesight!!
      Depending on what you're using it for, I use simple Python scripts to display/animate text, shapes and images;
      the Adafruit tutorials are really simple to setup and run on the Raspberry Pi; have a look at this tutorial ...

      Hey, I had the same idea.
      I thought about about a project like a smart glass with 1.4 inch display and raspberry Pi 0w but I haven't used a raspberry Pi and I don't know how to connect it. I saw many videos just showing images in the display. I need to have the OS running in the screen. So I stopped that project. Is there anyway I can restart it👍.

    Hii, I have to display exactly the same thing and I am using KMR-1.8 SPI TFT 128*160. I have performed exactly the same steps but while running the program the error comes up as:
    >>> %Run shapes.py
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/home/pi/Python ST7735/examples/shapes.py", line 54, in
    max_speed_hz-SPEED_HZ))
    File "/usr/local/lib/python3.7/dist-packages/Adafruit GPIO-1.0 init
    4-py3.7.egg/Adafruit GPIO/SPI.py", line 46, in self. device.cshigh = False
    SystemError: error return without exception set
    Please tell me where have I gone wrong? Is it has something to do with the driver? Please help

    I’ve followed your tutorial but I’m unable to get the screen to run an example.
    I get an Error message which says traced back to max_speed_hz=MAX_SPEED
    And then
    Self._device.cshigh = False
    The speed is set to 400000hz as per video and have search but unable to find much
    Are you able to shed any light on this issue because I’m struggling? 🙉🤯
    I’m using a raspberry pi 4 / adafruit st7735 128x 128 tft

    I have an old Keurig 2.0 coffee machine with a touchscreen thats still working. Is it possible to use on my RaspberryPi to see if can put some other things to run through it....

    • @timskillman
      @timskillman  3 года назад +1

      Really depends if your old Keurig 2.0 touchscreen has an SPI interface ... and has a chipset that Adafruit supports??

    • @timskillman
      @timskillman  3 года назад +1

      ... alternatively, you could replace the Keurig screen with a compatible Raspberry Pi touchscreen - that would be a fun project!
