Obviously the seals were frozen and brittle, cranking it on caused the pressure to fracture all those seals. Also didn’t help that I didn’t change oil in like 3 years

Surprisingly the seals don't show any cracking after teardown. Just excess crank pressure caused it to blow out a small o-ring on the crankcase (the little arm is where the initial leak started not the paper gasket as I first suspected) and eventually the main crank seal blew out after 15min of run time.
Turns out our ccv catch can system failed causing the excess pressure to have nowhere to escape.
This engine has well over 500 hours on it so blow by is definitely present

What happened to the next part of the manual clutch

I did this same project, they make an adapter for the m12 miluakee battery that gives you two wires for a 12 volt source. You can buy a small electric fuel pump and wire it up with the m12 batttery so you don’t have to mount a drill on the back of your bike. I even got a small battery life indicator so I know when the battery is almost dead.

Funny story, I had an electric pump wired to a 12 volt lithium battery in the fake motorcycle tank. The battery needed to be charged but my brother was in a hurry to ride. Hooked the pump up to a 24 volt drill battery not thinking…. Ended up blowing the pump. So he removed the blown motor, left the pump body and chucked the drill directly to the pump shaft thus creating a Milwaukee oil pump.
We have a new pump ready to be installed but that will come on stage 2 of the build. We have been busy working and building a new shop. We hope to revamp the channel in the fall when the new shop is done being built

looks like its building massive crankcase pressure.

For sure, this along with a blocked ccv line turned out to be the culprit. Our ccv catch can was clogged up causing the excess pressure to have nowhere to go

And the moral of the story is keep your diesel vehicle warm!

Thats a fact! Or if that isn't possible switch to a lighter weight oil for freezing temperatures if you live somewhere with harsh winters.
Now there may be a few other things going on here that caused this.
1- Excessive blow by causing the crankcase pressure to build.
2- Clogged catch can causing the ccv to function properly.
Also the main seal has been leaking for about 2 months prior to this happening
We will find out when we tear into it after Christmas to replace the seal. I willl try to get a video showing the blow-by after its back together.

Might I suggest an air intake filter?

Do you recommend this motor and how fast does it make the mini bike go

    • @CampbellBrothersOutdoors
      @CampbellBrothersOutdoors  Год назад

I don’t recommend it over the predator 6.5hp motor. These engines make very little power and are pretty slow. We did it as a “fun” project just to see what would happen

For sure! She didn't like the cold too much. This was a test just to see what would happen to one of these Chinese diesels if you left it out in the cold overnight, turns out its not a good idea just like we suspected!

Should have watched project farms oil shootout everyone knows you gotta run amsoil in the cold 😅 man that's exciting got my diesel engine in going to start a build soon 🤌🏼

Man it’s all good, we stuck it back in with a pry bar and it has been working great ever since. At this point it’s just us trying to find a way to blow this motor up but it’s been defying the odds and surviving everything.
